Message From the Sentinel

OK everyone. Its been a while and a few of you may not even know who I am so I will make this short and sweet.

I'm back.

First off I just want to say that Mkall is still here. He cares deeply for this site and has been doing an awesome job.

I will be playing the role of site admin dedicated to the HMW parts of the site. I will also be programming on the game and on pieces of the entire site as well.

I want to make it abundantly clear what is about to happen...
I am posting a locked sticky within 15 minutes that outlines the new set of HMW rules for the games and forums (even though most of them aren't new). They will be followed. Make no mistake that the HMW staff and the rest of the Seibertron staff is committed to a confident consistency with these rules and the consequences to deliver should they be broken. Everyone will be treated on an equal footing and there should be no confusion moving forward. The rules thread I will post is not open for debate or discussion just know it, live it and love it.

Now, on to the fun stuff..I will be working on several huge projects for the site. Don't start asking about HMW2 and such because you will find out what I'm doing when the time is right.

Glad to be back. Follow the rules and have fun.

Welcome back Sentinel. I know there are those that won't like this, but in the end it's all for the greater good.

To avoid confusion, I will still be dealing with the HMW game that is still here. So all comments, complaints, requests etc, please direct them to me first. OS has his projects, and I have mine. We may co-operate at times on eachother's, but for now it's best to assume that we're working on separate things.

Omega Sentinel and Mkall, you two are great. Big thumbs up to Mkall for sticking it out here and I want to give every bit of appreciation possible to you, OS. Don't let anyone push you around.

I love Heavy Metal War, and hopefully we can get something going soon.

So, Omega Sentinel, what changed your mind? Last I remember you were pretty upset with the general population of HmW players and had some choice words and feelings about a select few. Why, if you were angered and upset with us, would you chose to come back? Most people would simply choose to walk away and make those that upset them suffer. I guess I'm just confused. :-?

Welcome back though--for the time being.

Word.

Tif, QS asked nothing about V2.

If you are attempting to say that being able to work on many things for the site has brought Omega back, then perhaps it would have been easier if you had just wrote it out.

Glad to see you back OS.

I gotta admit I was really riled about the sudden decision to lock the boards yesterday (and I don't get riled easily) but I'm glad I held my tongue, waited & trusted that they'd be back up soon with a full explanation.

While the rules seem a teeny little bit hard to me (but I guess I don't know the half of the crud the mods deal with daily) ultimately I'm happy to follow them, I know where I stand and I can encourage others to do the same.

I would like a quick clarification about this though.

Section 1
E - Players organizing other players into groups, clans, subfactions, etc will not be recognized by the game or this site and any non-gameplaying issues they may have will NOT be brought to any seibertron.com forums.

Does this mean that we'll be losing the RRD/AWC/PAC/MDF subforums in the near future?

I would suspect so. Not that the AWC one was that active anyways, especially as of late.

LOL. Only if you behave :P

Actually the theory is right about the subfaction forums going away. That is the plan but not for a little while and you will get plenty of warning.

Wow this is great just when Mkall gets going we get OS back too!!!

The future of HMW war is looking bright :APPLAUSE:

On a side note....The whole subfaction thing is fine, its just that us preds were using mostly the PAC forum becuase the Tripredicus forum required a mod to approve posts(as I'm sure you guys know anyway) :P

Just don't bring the game back while I'm away. Don't need people getting ahead. :P

If I could make a suggestion about the rules, you can eliminate the sticky about posting in spam bot threads by just sticking that part in the rules. In fact, it's almost redundant considering 1G, and would be completely redundant if you just added a few words.

Just trying to eliminate the amount of stickies that can be combined. Sometimes there gets to be too many at the top.

They're harsh, but ultimately we tried the relaxed stance and that didn't work out in the long run for a number of reasons.

On the other hand, you'll notice that there'll be no more stuff about prohibiting the off-site boards, so as long as the politics and inimities stay out of here, and proper code-of-conduct is followed here, you guys should feel free to resurrect your old off-site forums and follow/embrace whatever norms and standards you feel appropriate there.

To clarify - Coming here from the off-site boards is like coming back from the dorms at uni to visit your family. If you're like me you can have plenty of fun in both settings, you just have to be careful not to use the F-word or talk about your risque college sex-life in front of your parents.

For those who haven't encountered this situation yet, a bit of fore-warning: Don't play Halo in front of your family.

So what about recruiting and clan advertisement. I am not talking active recruiting like on the boards, but talking to people. Or putting things in our sigs. Are they out lawed as well?

I don't want to make any assumptions so I've asked for clarification on that in the staff-forum where the rules were drawn up.

Give them some time to discuss it and you'll have an answer.

I just want to make sure if we has to remove everything clan related from our sigs and avatars. I understand about not having a "Join the AWC/RDD/MDF/PAC" topics on the board, nor do I expect there to be allowed one from what I interpret the rule guide. I just wanted to know the "active" recruiting about approaching people through PMs would be acceptable or if we had to wait for people to come to us.
