Question:

How come the tactic for repair states that you can repair both yourself and a teammate, but I have not seen it enabled to repair yourself? I just wanted to get a little feedback on that topic.

No my knowledge the repairing yourself has either been off for a long time, or has never been able. Course I didn't have a repairer till the last year or so.

Self-repair was turned off perhaps 6 months after the game started (so, it's been gone more than four years now). It was causing too many server lags due to missions and arena fights going on forever.
Of course, with missions and arena timers in place, bringing it back could be fun.

The xp could be enormous!

And thats why it was turned off. People made their enduring repairers and faced them off in the arena and made boat loads of xp and the server went .

The lags were only due to the fact that the bouts could go on for ever if they had to - timers stop that now.

I know this, man.

With the timer on it could be brought back, that'd be cool

Repair was never part of the game when it launched.

yeah it wasn't till about late 2005 that self repair was removed.

This is how I remember things.

Repair wasn't part of the game when it was launched, it was implemented later. At that point you couldn't repair yourself either as the bugs weren't worked out of it yet. It was eventually implemented and promptly exploited by Ghost Rider and Co. and promptly removed.

The time out system was introduced to counter the Enduring Repairers our lovely group of "bug fingers" developed.

yeah i recall that happening not too long after i first got board active sometime in october 2005.

I can't honestly remember if repair existed when I started, for the simple fact that I stuck to ram and avoid until level 2.
