Breaking the Tactics Barrier.

It's like the sound barrier in the years just before Yeager broke it: Planes were going so fast that their controls locked up and they ended up nosediving into the ground or disintegrating in the air.

It seems to me that I've hit a bit of a wall with dual tactics. Seems like I get more out of them if I don't max them out. I've tried builds that should theoretically ram, strafe, avoid, or repair to their full potential. (I've got the XP to go 10s on both tactics, and between 8 and 10 on Courage, Speed, and every other stat.) But it seems like they lock up and don't do anything after a certain point. Is there such a thing as tactic/stat overkill? Is there something hidden the code that requires preset stats to unlock a character's full potential? Am I just tinker-happy and not giving characters a chance?

^taken from a very recent topic.

I'm guessing you mean that if you max out stats to 10 then they are actually worse off then when they were lower. This strikes me as odd. Though after looking at a battle log between two level 10s who had the same stats, I couldn't help but wonder why the bot lost....

Anyway, if you truly think that putting a stat somewhere is a bad idea, I guess you just shouldn't put it there.

looks at caelus's uber strafer, well considering strafe is boosted by being outnumbered (and hurt by having more allies than enemies)and your Uber strafer was level 3,( a bot heavy level), and your level 6/7 are in a con heavy level it's easy to see why the "uber" strafer sucked compared to the rest.

as to dual tactic suckage, it's cheaper to upgrade defense against Tactics than the tactics themselves as the defence requires a single stat, and tactics require two(the tactic itse'f and the Feeder stat). if you're at the point where you can max out everything chances are your opponents are probably not too far behind either, so quite likely have high endurance, which pretty much negates your feeder stats.
