I haven’t been here for more then 3 months or so, so I’m not a time honored veteran. Playing this game I’ve noticed that some people are good with the numbers and some people like me read those posts and try to understand how it all works. I will never understand how armor is better now then it was before the rest. (Assuming it is because I think I read that) So all I do is my best and sometimes its better then others.

One thing I do know is that people on here are passionate about the game. They invest hours of their days because they enjoy seeing results and their name climbing the board. Some play just to kill time and something to do or just a big nerdy Transformer fan. (personally I am a mix of all of those.) There might be some Cons that are just mean and like beating up us Bots, but I’m fine with that. It will make for a great Bot comeback.

My point of this is some of you need to lighten up. This is a game and most of us here are here for fun. Some of you take it too seriously. As the Joker said, “Why so Serious?” I’ve heard rumors of people getting butt hurt over other players being higher ranked then them. I hear that people are arrogant and aren’t the friendliest of people. I have run into a few of these people and that’s pretty crappy. If you want to be a leader in something that’s not the attitude you want to portray. True this is only a game and that’s all it is and in the big picture someone’s attitude really doesn’t matter.

The thing is it does matter to some of this community and it’s quite disheartening to see the veterans act this way. I don’t’ see a reason why people have to be negative to others and others slander another because they are better then you. I’m a friendly guy and I associate with people that are the same. Galvatron Supreme is a great person to talk to. Neliz who I just started talking to is also a great guy. I wish more people would let their GAMING EGOS go.

All of this came from one PM I got this morning because someone who lives in a dark work and can't be friendly has to insult me without even knowing a single speck of knowledge about me. I thank you sir for being a PRIME example of what I have been seeing for weeks.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

What I'm getting at is that these kind of people have always existed here in HMW-land... ever since 2003.

They ain't going away anytime soon either, so you're probably best off enjoying the game in your own way and keep talking and interacting with that part of the community you do like and who do appreciate your input.

Because remember, that part will always be the majority

Any time you deal with people, we're all different and so conflict can occur. If you feel that anyone is harassing you can always contact a site mod.

But let this be an example, it is just a game and even though we might be different factions we're all people and we all have something in common. There is room for smack talk, but there are limits and sometimes people might go too far. Communication is important, but don't let this game or something someone says cause you to get so angry that you have to harass other players.

We're all part of the same community and, if in doubt, treat others how you would want to be treated.

Human nature will always dominate wherever people gather to "hang out" and discuss something, especially something with a passionate fanbase. You will always have people who are just intense and agresive. It's a fact of life. Add the fact that it's a game to that, and you get the competitive nature of people coming out.

Of course, this seems to have become more rampant since we stopped being allowed to have general discussion threads to just spam and talk to each other on.

As Sharpwing said, unfortunately that sort of behavior is rampant in many online games, from my experience. There is always SOMEBODY who believes they are entitled to worship.

I've never understood it myself. I like to enjoy a game and meet some nice people. That whole "Post Galvatron hits" thread is a prime example. The creator of that thread is an in-game friend of mine and posted it to have a little friendly competition to make the game more fun. Unfortunately, it rapidly deteriorated into who is and who is not a cheater, etc, etc.

I love the Transformers and have since I was a kid. When I found Seibertron.com and eventually HMW, I was thrilled! I created a team and started playing even though it seemed pointless with something like 7500 people higher and better than I am.

Since the reset, I happen to be doing very well this round due to my hard work, dedication and love of Transformers and this silly little game, lol.

I rarely mention how I am doing in the game, yet, to hear people talk and to read the posts about me, you'd think I was running around wearing a flashing neon sign saying "I'm #1! I'm #1!", lol.

Although I ,too, get irritated with the types of people you mentioned. I like to try my best to find people like You, Sharpwing, Kickurassacons, and several others I have met, as Sharpwing suggested and ignore the rest as best as possibile.

This game is a great game and Seibertron.com has one hell of a community from top to bottom. The mods/admins here are great and REALLY quick to respond to problems/issues when they arise. I have dealt personally with OS, CB, and Mkall and they were great.

So, whether people like it or not, I'm here to stay. I may be #1 or #1001, it matters not to me. It's the game and the select people I meet that make the game fun and entertaining. That's why I'm here.

I’m personally not being harassed. It would take a lot for me to actually complain to a mod. Like some freak at my door or some how ended up with my cell number.

Dark tidings happened.

armour isn't better now than before the reset, it was balanced in the spring, before that there was no correlation between rank, cost, install time, and the actual amount of protection given.

now there is a correlation (more rank, higher cost, longer install time the better it is) but it's also bugged so it's a quite varaible as to what you actually get shot by shot

I wasn't talking to the mods re harrassment. I just meant like getting my in-game name changed, alt questions, general questions and stuff like that.

Online egos don't affect me enough to talk to mods about it, and besides, nothing of that magnitude has happened to me personally either. Sorry for the confusion...

I found the best way to handle this place is to have a laugh and some smack talk with those that can take it and ignore the a***holes and inflated egos.
As Sharpy said there are way more good players than bad. :grin:

Thank you Galvatron Supreme for those words but Max-Prime forgot about his cubical neighbor.

My first and last mistake in the forms was posting a head hunt on one of my good friends(Galvatron Supreme) and one person took it to the next level with crazy accusations about him. :-(

I should have been more clear. And now my cube neighbor(Max_Prime) received a message from a guy that wet his bed this morning and wanted to vent to Max-Prime.

I have also been head hunting Tekka because he has been doing so damn good and currently have a 5,000 energon reward for him. This doesn’t mean I hate him, I think he is a very nice guy. Tekka is also taking this “witch hunt”, haha you get it, you get it, very well. I would feel honored if other people were trying to take me down because I am that good for them to notice, but I am not. I am just trying to have a little fun with the people that I think will not get offended. Like a lot of you have been saying, “Its just a game”. And if you can’t take the friendly criticism, then you shouldn’t be playing a game called, “Heavy Metal War”. The game is not called, “Pink Pony Playground”, so lets battle like its WWIII but also have fun.

Autobots: We still need to team up and take down Galvatron Supreme, Tekka and Sustain. We have a battle to win.

We used to place bounties on heads of people all the time, all in good fun. "Hey, he stasis locked me! 1000 Energon to whoever brings me X Characters head!" Always in good fun.

Aside from when we bountied steve. But that's because he smells funny. :lol:

In all seriousness the "attitudes" floating around today is NOTHING compared to what things were like when the game was first launched.

This is a MUCH friendlier environment.

Yes, there are some arseholes around, hell i'll admit i'm one of them. But over the years i've seen a number of conflicts caused simply because one person took something another person said the wrong way.

It's a failure in the communication system. I think it's safe to say the majority of us aren't language experts (I did fail English in high school. Yay me!) and probably don't convey what we mean through the written word correctly.

One thing I do know is that the majority of people ARE reasonable and if you do have a problem with 'em, just pm them and talk it out. If things get worse then take it to a Mod.

But trust me, these days, it's practically a hippy camp.

You have a point, but if it bothers you the best thing is, ignore it. I myself am here for the game, to have fun when bored at work, and to chat with other players. I've made several friends, and there's a few that irritate me, but I just block them out of my head when reading stuff and don't let it fester. Everyone's going to be different, as others have said. Just chill, find the people you like to hang with and enjoy the ride ^_^
