"I cannot confirm or deny."
Or,
"I can neither confirm nor deny."
I think I'm your personal Gazoo.

Beat me to it. Dum Dum's dead btw. He was impersonated by a Skrull that I believe is also dead. Oh. Spoilers.

I don't think it matters. Why would anyone be reading Secret Invasion when they have the masterpiece that is Final Crisis?
.... **** i'm funny sometimes.

Sod that, I spent the afternoon reading "Batman: Hush". I was disappointed. Though Harley Quinn's arse was rather wonderfully done.

Why is it people read comics Morrison is writing that are part of an unfinished series and bash the **** out of it because they don't understand it? It's **** Grant Morrison. You'd think by now people would figure out that you can't follow what's going on until it's all done. I'm not saying you're one of those people Burn but it still irks me. However I will say that the tie ins to both crossovers are far better then the story in either.
Final Crisis has the Grant factor. And the butthurt fans baaawing about him bringing back Golden Age and Silver Age characters and themes. But dude Final Crisis:Rogue's Revenge is **** EPIC. I've been saying for years that the Rogue's are more interesting then the Flash and after this they deserve their own damn book.
I raged so damn hard when it turned out that the major plot point in the first two issues of Secret Invasion (you know the one I'm talking about. The one with the ship) were pointless. And you know why too. FFFFFFF seriously? I mean not one of them was you know? Then they bring back Nick Fury (who I was all **** YEAR! NICK FURY! to when it happened) and other then saving the Young Avengers and some other losers from Super Skrulls he's done jack. But the issues of the Thunderbolts that take place during Secret Invasion are probably the best things coming out of SI.

A lot of people couldn't get past the background story for Hush, and the twist involving who the mastermind really was. Although Harley's ass was awesome. I just wish they never decided to move her away from the Joker and make her a hero. Although the lesbian relationship (sharing an apartment and a bed with a lesbian) almost makes up for her lack of direction and character now.

I could see it coming. It was the "hey, look, it's EVERYONE!" approach that annoyed me. I'd much have prefered the full twelve issues dedicated to Harley's ass.
Also, klimkcoK, it's cause ... someone ... is reluctant to bring them back, and right now, when the Quints are level 6 to 8 and the highest character in the game is level 2, it makes sense to not bring them back.

Admittedly I only got back into comics about a year and a half ago, and even before that I paid little attention to who was writing, drawing, lettering, colouring etc.
So I haven't had much experience with Grant Morrison's writing. That being said, what irks me the most about Final Crisis isn't not following, it's the whole DC Universe at the moment.
Final Crisis is running, but it doesn't seem to be having an affect on the main titles. Then you've got Trinity.
I look it at as three different universes that are suppose to be the same universe. Final Crisis, regular titles not acknowledging Final Crisis, and Trinity which is rewriting the regular titles universe while ignoring Final Crisis.
Now over with Secret Invasion, the majority of the regular titles are tieing into the SI story-arc. It's a neat little package so to speak.
I have enjoyed the majority of Secret Invasion (and i'll agree, the Thunderbolts stuff has been great, but the Thunderbolts book was pretty good BEFORE SI started) with the exception of the Avengers stuff which basically recounted how each Skrull took up their position.
Final Crisis i'm STARTING to enjoy now that the **** has hit the fan but the early days ... not so enjoyable. Rogue's Revenge though, good story arc. As was the Red Lanterns one-shot, but i've been eagerly awaiting Blackest Night for a while now anyway and this just makes me want it more.

Sometimes comics don't have time to end an arc in time for the quarterly massive company crossover. Case in point Moon Knight's fighting the Thunderbolts because he's broken the regulations for Registered Heroes for excessive violence. But then that title rarely gives a crap about the company's crossovers which I'm normally thankful for. In the case of Final Crisis a lot of it has to do with time travel and other stuff that won't be made clear until it's all done. I've not read Trinity but I'm going to just assume that Final Crisis ends in such a way that the retcons in Trinity are justified. Grant's a good writer and he can tie **** together like you won't believe.
To me the most interesting thing about Secret Invasion is going to be the fallout from it. You just know that Iron Man's going to get fired as director of S.H.I.E.L.D. (thanks in part to Norman Osbourne's quick thinking and buck passing), but the real question is who's going to replace him? It's obviously going to be Nick Fury or Norman. But then I've heard that Norman's one of the big guns in Black Reign. Which I've also heard will return Doom to being the bad ass company wide crossover worthy threat he never should have stopped being.
When it comes down to the Lanterns I need to do a lot of catching up to do. And by that I mean as far back as Sinestro Corps War. I probably could do downloads to catch up but I'm downloading other stuff that has higher priority at the minute. Although I am interested to see the Black Lanterns (who's elemental emotion is Death. How that's an element or an emotion ionno) because they're all resurrected dead and somehow the leader is Black Hand. Well not really there's the shadowy figure who made Anti Monitor into the Black Lantern Power Battery but you get what I'm saying. I'm hoping Alex comes back to screw with Kyle though. It'd be hilarious to see her trap him in a black energy refrigerator.

Osbourne's definitely going to be a big player in the next cross-over. Hopefully, whatever his agenda is, he'll just leave Parker alone, because let's face it, the Spidey title has had enough crap done to it over the last few years. Having Norman in a even higher position of power coming after him will just be ... meh.
We probably should dredge up that comic book thread in GD.

Would you guys like me to split/move this thread so you can continue this conversation guilt free?

Although... missions like that would make for some interesting risk / rewards and for some chances for characters to jump forward in XP. Make those who manage to git a hit or two in "war heroes" and individuals (not just teams) would stand out. Might negate, for a brief period, that those who get the most XP are those who spend the most time in the game.

If a former collector were to reinsert his $$$ into the comic world, where would be best places given current storylines? (In your
deluded, awkward, and just downright strange opinions).
If split just post the link so it can be followed to - but you have to admit this thread hijacking shenanigans are rather common. Wasn't there an anarchy debate in the features thread recently? At least it only lasts for a page at most usually.

Their bots have usually come back out of CR by then.
The Quints had differet grades of badass, Qints themselves were 8. Allicons and The Overcharge Drones were the lowest ones at level 3. (Magistrates were 4 and Sharkticons were 6)
The 0-1 v Quint ambush mission was great fun. It was like an xp lottery where you died no matter what you scored.

You're forgetting The Fallen, who, IIRC, was a level 14 that only paid out Xp as a level 11.
I still have the mission where I actually KOed him saved in my folder of HMW stuff. Not a big achievement to some, but it was a big deal to me.

Wait, that's not a far stretch.
