It sucks. The damage range is too wide to make it an effective weapon. If it's damage range weren't as wide (moderate to very heavy) it would be the best weapon of the default weapons. But as it stands it's tied for 4th place and is almost dead last for default weapons.

Default weapon rankings (In my oppinion)

Null Rays
X-Ray Laser
Sword, Hand Mounted Laster, Gun
Slingshot and Metalikato Strike
Rifle

In that order. Bare in mind you asked my honest opinion of the weapon and it was given. If the damage were tweeked it would be excellent, however right now it's god awful.

i've been checking it out. wondering if i should switch back to null rays.

strike has same stats as sling shot, so why'd they make another sling shot?

I'm assuming an experiment. Maybe simply to see if they can add weapons. Ionno.

I'd like to stress that the damage brackets mean very little, "incredible" and "very heavy" are really meaningless. Every weapon is balanced based on its requirements.

No they're not. Null Rays out preform every other weapon in their bracket. If you mean the damage is scaled to stat requirements then you are right Jeep? and I apologize. Because a moderate damage 1 FP weapon will do more damage then a heavy damage default (doesn't exist it's an example). However a moderate to heavy damage weapon is far superior to a light to very heavy damage weapon at the same stat requirements. It's all about working that local meta game and squeezing out every drop of performance.

Hope you like it.

Ive added it as a test to check 2 things;
1) How we can make the max damage and damage range directly relate to the firepower and skill. This is just the most basic level to see how it fits alongside the other weapons, more will be available soon.
2) to see if martial-arts style moves work with the damage text in misison logs.

This is stuff that will only have an effect in V1.x, but just becuse there is a coe feeze on, doesnt mean we cant tweak a few bits for you whilst V2 is being developed.

Keep an eye out for more new weapons as we get further along the xp chain...
