Through out the course of this thread players will will have the chance to play out pivotal points in Cybertrons history. one last thing remember that things are not always as they seem and those pulling the strings may not always be the proverbial puppet masters. Hmm what a dreadfull though that may be

Rules are as follows
1. This is a RP thread so stay on topic and advance the story. No spam
2. This is non factional you will be playing Pre-Great War Cybertronians in a time before factions exsisted each side will be marked by colour codeing your text green for one side Purple for the other side. Orange will mark any third party story line IE. civillians.
3. A victory in a mission allows you to post please add the link.

The reason for this thread will be to allow every member of this community to add to the back story for the final tournie.

I have several segments for us to cover with each one lasting a week. JP and myself will act as dungeon masters of sorts to move the story along. I will create a thread for the story seperate from this to allow for questions to be placed here. Notification of when new segments will start will also appear here. Good point another colour is needed my bad this was a over sight on my part. As to what side is wich I'll announce this with the start of each segment as I said this is not really a factional deal. So if a player wanted to even run both side of the story I would allow it so long as they where not abuseing it. the main point is to involve every one in the end game tournie story. when i start this on tuesday I will post opening peices for both sides to work from and JP is also gonna add in to that.

How indepth rp are we aiming for on a scale of 1-10?

I can do 10, but i doubt anyone else would give a sh!t so unless i see otherwise i'l aim at 5

will we be factioned by the endgame tournie?

(rp-wise)How long is this all taking place over? months, years, thousands of years, millions of years? are we going to pass over alot of down time, i.e. say weeks/days/months/years/ between each mission, or is it all in real time?

What about neutrals, the people not on either side? a third color?

are we using existing tf history or making up our own as we go along?

Do we count anything from the arena, or just missions?

I like to have as many details as possible, so i don't seem like a noob or a over-the-top jackass

5 is good I real would like to see people get creative here. So I'm not looking to stiffle any one by saying your posts must be this long or you can't write more then a paragraph.

As for the timeline the story outline that I'm generating this from is not really to time specific. This way the continuity is more open it can get easy to write your self in to holes. If your always worried about makeing sure you don't overlap timelines or what have you.

I don't intend to have any down time. As there are several events that I want to cover. As each event nears it's closing date I will post a opening to the next event in this thread and yes I will give that a few days early. To give participants notice and allow them to start thinking of ideas for that event.

A third colour to mark non combatants or civillians would be fine with me but I'm gonna set that as a limit.

Sorry to double post but I have reason. Here is some back story to the first part of this.

Action Vos!
In the years leading up to the war between Vos and Tarn, many of the citizens of Vos began to feel resentful towards the large number of immigrants from other areas of Cybertron living in their city, and sentiment regarding the racial superiority of those budded of ‘pure’ lines of ancestry began to grow.

The most important figures in this belief are the Republic, who often organised arena fights between warriors from Vos and those of rival cities, rigged heavily to sway public opinion towards the supremacy of the people of Vos.Another major group in this movement was Action Vos!, a militant group officially labelled as a terrorist organisation by Starscream’s puppet government, but covertly funded by the Republic.

Initially, Action Vos! remained solely a political entity, espousing their radical views to stir up public sentiment. However, it was not long before an armed campaign started, targeting the ‘undesirable’ foreign elements of society. Scare tactics and lynchings were used at first, with immigrants from Tarn, Kaon and Iacon being the main victims.

Before long, bombings became the main approach being utilised, often aimed at slum areas towards the outskirts of the city. Casualty rates were alarmingly high, and the efficiency of the killings in eliminating only foreigners was startlingly precise. Within four months, almost six hundred were dead, and more than two thousand displaced.

Various show trials were conducted at Starscream’s behest, as his shadowy backers were determined to keep their hands clean as much as possible. It is estimated that almost thirty innocent civilians, mostly anti-blood sport protestors, were publicly executed in connection with the bombings. Despite the effectiveness of the campaign against the slums, Action Vos! were to step up their approach once more.

The seventh month of the bombing campaign saw what was briefly known as the “Ten Days of Terror”, in which three ambassadors to Vos from other regions of Cybertron were publicly assassinated by individuals disguised in the traditional appearance of Tertius, legendary founder of Vos. The tenth day was witness to the single most lethal and controversial action taken by the group, though, as seven bombs simultaneously exploded at various points in the embassy building for Tarn in the city centre of Vos, killing all seventy-eight inhabitants of the building instantly. Included in this death toll was Thunderblitz, then the Governor of Tarn.

The aftermath of this bombing had serious consequences in both cities as Tarn’s military; led by the callous Shockwave; acted quickly, seizing control in their city-state in a bloodless coup in order to resolve the power vacuum Thunderblitz’s death had created. Shortly after this coup, the leaders of Action Vos! were apprehended with suspicious rapidity, and sentenced to serve the remainder of their lives as arena slaves, unpaid gladiators owned by the pits.

This was not enough to appease Shockwave and his military junta, however, and the bombing of the Tarn embassy, as well as Shockwave’s own fears over the Republic and the possibility of a similar phenomenon occurring in his own city’s gladiatorial arenas, are often cited as the catalysts for the beginning of the war between Vos and Tarn.

Players will play out members of the Action Vos group. Posts will mark this groups terror activities against immigrants in Vos
Immigrant player will tell of how they resist these scare tactics and their expansion into Vos.

What are we supposed to be RPing? Putting a story to the results of missions?

Yes you will be posting a story to your missions but they are just markers. See the thing is that there are these events in the back story being worked on. I'm gonna post a outline to these events and by you guys RPing them out the community can give depth to these events. I hope this helps out or clears things up.

Forgive me, but I didn't really take part in the previous one, and I didn't really bother reading it much since I was on dialup and just getting back into the game, so I a lot of questions.

So, if someone wins 6 missions in a row, do they get to post all of those, or do they only get to post about one?

Do you get to post for every character in a mission, including ones not your own (like their reactions to being hit and stuff, basically controlling other peoples characters including their personality)?

Can you respond to posts as a character from the mission if someone else posted it, win or lose, or is it first come first serve for the mission and whoever gets their story post up first is the one that counts?

i believe you can post about all of them, but i would suggest keeping them in one post to limit double posting.
so this way we could post all our missions

while still playing different roles

and we could play all 3 sides and show simultaneous events

The last one was kept pretty simplistic where possible - post a mission and write a short paragraph/story to tie it in with a larger story arc - in the other threads case a Kaon vs Altagon battle, and here based on the fallout from the ill fated Vos tourney that was run over the hurricane/reset last october I think. (which could be argued as a win for the Havocons?)

The unwritten rule was that you stick to your own characters, let someone respond to a post before following it up and you played the part of a commander in a larger army.

There's no real score and there's no win/lose as such unless the leader of the story wants there to be, for example, Jeep will probably have this leading up to something big considering its timing...


But haveing gone back over the thread, slip's idea has modified it somewhat.

No worries AZ as for posting I would like to see people limit to 2-3 entries per post. Then let another player get a chance to add to the story. Much like NV said the main thing is to keep it all to one post.

Feel free to use your own characters if you like just remember that this is all pre great war. So think Orion Pax in War Dawn, If you choose to play out other people for more depth give them another name or get that persons consent to use there character name.
For instance I will be makeing up characters for this but will be represented by my team.

I'm gonna stick to the idea of you won you have the posting right. Say I'm on the wining side of a Con Pred mission that you are in with me. I post one side PM me if you wish to add to the other side.

The whole thing is this is about fun and getting the whole community to play a part in the end tournie story. So as long as people allow every one to take part that whants to I can see allowing alot of freedom to the participants.

Vos-Iacon War

Tarn was not the only city-state against which Vos has gone to war. When the first of its gladiatorial arenas was opened, word quickly spread across Cybertron of the new spectacle, and opinion on its worth and morality was greatly polarised.

Relations grew strained between Vos – at this time still ruled by a legitimately elected Governor – and Iacon, whose conservative government felt that the fighting pits were an aberration in the eyes of Primus. At first, the antagonism was confined to petty bureaucratic squabbling and sternly-worded political addresses.

Eventually, though, the resentment both states harboured towards the other grew to encompass commerce and immigration, with mutual trade embargos set in place, and a uniform denial of the movement of individuals from Vos to Iacon, and vice versa. Iacon’s border patrols even adopted a shoot-to-kill policy on all refugees and immigrants suspected of coming from Vos. After a few months, it seemed that this status quo would remain, with both sides locked in a sort of ‘cold’ war. However, when a foiled arson attempt on Belligerum, the largest of Vos’ arenas, was traced back to a covert operations unit of Iacon’s military, Vos declared war on the polar city in full.

Initially backed with munitions and funding by Tarn, Vos’ air-strikes on the infrastructure of Iacon dealt heavy damage to the city and the morale of its inhabitants. However, fearing future retaliation from Iacon and its allies, Tarn was quick to withdraw its support, something which the people of Vos would remember for generations.

With the loss of bombing supplies, the meagre industries of Vos were forced to commit themselves entirely to the war effort, with jewellers manufacturing bombsights and jewelled bearings, public transport diverted to the production of jet engines, and fireworks firms pumping out warheads. However, even with the entire city-state working at maximum capacity, the doctrine of total war was not enough. Iacon recovered swiftly, and its retaliation was brutal.

Hundreds of highly trained soldiers were landed in the residential and financial areas of the city, holding these sections hostage and declaring them a new exclave of Iacon. Faced with what seemed to be an inevitable defeat, Vos’ Governor, Shotmaker, formulated an emergency plan as a last-ditch effort. The four prisons which served Vos and its surrounding area were free from the Iacon occupation forces, and were swarming with convicted murderers, thugs, rapists and spree killers. Knowing that life in these crowded prisons could only have made these criminals even more dangerous than they had been to begin with, Shotmaker made the difficult decision to release the most vicious convicts in the city, drafting them into a savage militia.

Their effectiveness was alarming, as years of harsh conditioning and power struggles had drilled a prison hierarchy into them which continued to exist on the outside, while the resourcefulness and malice they had learnt whilst incarcerated proved all too deadly for the occupying forces. Within two months, the invaders were routed, but the cost for Vos was high. Most of its infrastructure was in ruins, leaving only the arenas to sustain the economy, something which was to shape the evolution of the city for centuries.

Following the success of the prison militia, Shotmaker declared an amnesty, allowing the surviving prisoners to regain their freedom by taking part in the reconstruction effort. This was followed by the prisons being closed, and converted into new arenas – Shotmaker’s logic being that criminals would be sentenced to serve in the pits rather than serve time in prison, forever maintaining a standing force of trained soldiers desperate to fight for their freedom should the need ever arise for them again
