exitium repaints/kitbash ideas.

Ive decided I wanna try my hand at making some of my team, but almost imeadiatly relaised I have no idea what to base some of them on, so I'd like ideas. Some of the charecter discriptions do not match their current alts, but thats the game as it is right now for you...

Firstly, the charecter, what they are, and what (where I have an idea) I think I could use (all the modified seekers will probably be classics seekers with new wings):

Dreadspawn, basicly a repaint of Thrust, but with the wings in thye correct seeker position and no conehead (modified seeker).

Bitchkrieg, tank, preferably a relativly current day earth like tank (dont know what toy to use).

Behalter Maximus, mobile battle station/tank thing (perhaps G1 Metroplex, but I'd rather use something from a later series).

Torchwood, post reset version will be based upon the Torchwood van in the show of the same name, pre reset was a headmaster who's transtector was the headquarters of the missing branch of Torchwood (post: almost ciratinly A Red Alert, pre: if I ever do it, almost certainly a junker Fot Max).

Elita Nemesis, female spider (Ive had a quick look at the verious spider tfs, and think either animated or Beast Machines Blackarachnia, but neither is perfect, and I have no idea how to avoid making her look like a clone of Blackarachnia).

Purple Floyd, a purple cassette player (god knows, G1 ones are a bit on the expensive side for a kitbash (or are too borked to beworth it), Music label is too expensive for a kitbash too and the titainium one is utter rubbish).

Universal Migrator, no idea, can be pretty much anything (is currently a tiefighter), Im open to any sugestions of toys that might fit the name.

Redimus, race car (classics mirage).

Vader D'Etoile, futeristic seeker (modified seeker with cyclonus style wings).

Redlock, suposed to be a spoof of grimlock, but none of the Grimlock toys strike me as right, anybody who knows what the energon Grimlock is like (ive never seen him in the plastic) or knows of other good dino tfs I could use please pipe up.

Deadweight, modified seeker.

Opeth, kind of the next evolution of the minicon, some kind of weaponformer that can be carried by the others (I was thinking maybe using Vector Prime's minicon, dose anybody know if there have been any oversized knockoffs of this particular minicon, or if there are any other oversixed minicon knockoffs that would be suitable substitutes?).

Redlock-animated grim? dinobot? BW meg/transmetal megs?

Do you have any links to the titainum soundwave mod? Does it still transform, or is it very much an action master after the work is done to it?

Name_Violation wrote:bitchkrieg-g2 megatron? classics galvatron?

]The smaller G2 megs may well be a good choice for Bk, I'll give that a good think (although anything I chose will first need to be oked by JP, as it is technically his charecter). Come to think of it, I think I have a junker version of that mold sitting about somewhere, although it'll need a new gun.[/color

Name_Violation wrote:universal mitigator-repaint the nerf gun megs?

[color=red]Whilst I like the idea of having an exuse for that mold in my team, Im not sure it'd fit.

Name_Violation wrote:Redlock-animated grim? dinobot? BW meg/transmetal megs?

I like ani grim, I just dont think any ani tfs would particularly fit with with the rest of the team that well, otherwiseI'd probably go for him. I never particularly liked the look of Dinobot. What are the verious BW era T-rex megs like?

Cheers for the ideas.

but apparently it doesnt transform any more :(

there is also a soundwave custom over in the customs forum, using different parts, alas it doesn,t transform either.

i'll do some more looking around to see if i can find a good soundwave(blaster?) to use...

Dreadspawn, basicly a repaint of Thrust, but with the wings in thye correct seeker position and no conehead (modified seeker).

- Troll e-bay, look for G1 seeker parts, all you'll need are the wings, the rest can be from any of the seekers. I also suggest finding a new set of weapons to set him apart from the other seekers.

Bitchkrieg, tank, preferably a relativly current day earth like tank (dont know what toy to use).

- G2 Megatron or even a G1 Brawl. Unless you want to go with Movie Brawl and replace his head. Please for the love of god replace his head!

Behalter Maximus, mobile battle station/tank thing (perhaps G1 Metroplex, but I'd rather use something from a later series).

- I'm guessing you want a large size here so Metroplex might be your only option. You could easily find a Metroplex body, then find some fists, after that, load him up with all sorts of weapons!

- There's also Movie Stockade. He actually has a real face and is a pretty good figure.

Elita Nemesis, female spider (Ive had a quick look at the verious spider tfs, and think either animated or Beast Machines Blackarachnia, but neither is perfect, and I have no idea how to avoid making her look like a clone of Blackarachnia).

- Have to modify the head somehow. Good luck with that one.

Purple Floyd, a purple cassette player (god knows, G1 ones are a bit on the expensive side for a kitbash (or are too borked to beworth it), Music label is too expensive for a kitbash too and the titainium one is utter rubbish).

- Look around long enough and you should be able to find a decent one. And they can often be repaired if you want to put the time into it.

Universal Migrator, no idea, can be pretty much anything (is currently a tiefighter), Im open to any sugestions of toys that might fit the name.

- Got nothing!

Redimus, race car (classics mirage).

Damn good mold ...

Vader D'Etoile, futeristic seeker (modified seeker with cyclonus style wings).

Having a quick look ... you could probably modify a Classic Seekers wings by doing a bit of cutting, similar to what I did with HellFyre and you'd also have to turn them around (or swap them over)

Redlock, suposed to be a spoof of grimlock, but none of the Grimlock toys strike me as right, anybody who knows what the energon Grimlock is like (ive never seen him in the plastic) or knows of other good dino tfs I could use please pipe up.

- Avoid the Energon piece of ****. Just forget about it.

Deadweight, modified seeker.

- Again, whatever you do, give him different weapons!

I think i've seen pictures of over-sized versions of the weapons team (the ones with that nice little Prowl bot). So either them or VP's mini-con.

not being familiar with torchwood, and a google search showed nothing, would animated soundwave work? i like the toy, but CHANGE THE HEAD, (or not, i just dont like it)

I have to copy Burn. Stockade is a good rep for the Torchwood's ride. But you should see if you can get any Torchwood logos to pimp him out properly.

I didnt think of that, but that might work actully.

Edit Ive had a quick re-look and Ani Soundwave, and he'd make a great base tf for Torchwood. He would however need a lot of cosmetic work (some details flattening, some butching up, the back of the van tapered off more), so if I do use him, it'll beo ne of my later jobs. /Edit

And as for torchwood the show (which is a spin off of Doctor Who), click here

And this is the car in question:

Whilst Stockade's alt is a pretty good match (and not much painting is required), Im not a msive fan of the robot mode. Also, Torchwood is suposed to be pretty inteligent, and Stockade looks like a bit of a dense bruser. I might have to hide the torchwood symbol somewhere on his robot mode, but Im gonna try and keep the outside of his alt as close as possible to that car.

Cheers Burn. I may need to pick you brains on a few things later on btw, mainly on, well, everything, lol. Ive only got a very small bit of experiance (all with railway model kits), and that was all a long time ago. I fully intend to pick my dad and his mate's brains first, but they dont have much experiance of actual transformers. Also, where do you find all those random/awesome weapons?

The bruiser look is what I love about that mold, and the fact it has an actual face, not the typical "oh look, i'm the love child of a blender and a stick insect" face the movie bots sported.

I've used him as a base for Bling (name change pending) who would be finished if I got off my arse for five mins.

When you're ready just fire away.

I really had no experience when I first started, did a few model airplanes as a kid, but then just decided to repaint a figure, then started changing them, learnt a few things, looked at what others did. The fact you've got experience with railway kits will probably help out a lot.

As far as weapons go, total pain in the arse to find. Gundam weapons look good, but there are certain bot sizes and eras they don't work with.

I've found Armoured Core stuff to be much more suitable, they even have extra weapons packs you can buy. I've used them on Gore and Bludge and I really like them.

Got 'em from HLJ but you might be able to source them more close to home.

Another idea for Redlock: Energon Cruellock/Doomlock.

I have the T-wrecks repaint of BW Megatron (Original), it's not a bad figure but neither is it amazing, and the robot mode head is a little... distinctive.

Elita Nemesis: Files and greenstuff modelling putty would probably be your best friend in making her look less like a palette swapped version. Might take some practice though if you haven't used it before.

How about Cybertron Red Alert for Torchwood?

It's a posiblity, and I do rather like Cyb Red Alert, but the whole showing head thing puts me off. What I really wanna know is this, why, apart from A Red Alert, are all the SUVs so small?

Ive had another look at Stockade, I must admit I actully like more than I remembered, but those arms... Im sorry I just do not like those arms, and with him already being black, I wouldnt know how to make him distinctly different enough to make the distinction. I may well use his head though, that is a good head.

I know absolutly nothing aboit zoids, apart from they are suposed to be relativly expensive. It might be a possibility, but not until I'm a much more confident kitbasher.

BW Transmetal Megatron is probably the best T-Rex transformer.

has some size, no real useless kibble, looks good in both modes and can probably be had for cheap. He's also not a bad figure to repaint. I have one that I'm working on now, but I don't complete most of what I start any more.

As for seekers try to get some different weapons. Zoids and even GI joe are good starts for unusual weaponry. The key is creating a peg that will work if one doesn't already exist.

Zoid CP parts work well because some of them come already in pairs, and come with plenty of material to make said post as well. Zoids CP should get a decent amount of hits on ebay for them.

Here are a couple of examples

Image

This one used a gatling gun meant for a Zoids elephander, expensive because you need to purchase two. The barrels still spin

Image

This one utilizes bombs from a Cobra rattler.

Image

Not the best picture, but its the only one I have of this mod, the red and blue seeker in front of RiD Scourge has guns that have been modded using a Zoids custom part pack meant for a Redler. These are somewhat sizeable on a seeker and since they come two per pack a decent bargain as well.

I've even thought about using some targetmasters as seeker weapons
