The British have a different way of spelling than Americans. They add extra, unneccessary letters to most of their words.

To be fair, we beat them once, then tied them in the next war. Of course, they were on a losing streak towards the end there - beat Napoleon, but still couldn't beat a bunch of rifle packin' backswoodsmen.
