You, GS, and ROS should all be able to do it. Which would clear out the higher end level 4s, which I think would be good for the rest of us.

You know the best way to get more people up to that level?

Having those level 4's join in missions so the lower folks can score some bigger xp off them.

What was it AZ said? Sportsmanship?

Just saying ...

Been doing that with my two. Helps when people join missions though. Off hand, any way we could get the XP bonus for winning missions brought back up?

That would fall under the "we can't make any changes to missions" category.
I really should just copy and paste these types of responses. *sigh* Some day i'll be able to say "I'll get on that right away!

More like "won't" - not until the fabled V2 is launched.
Which is becoming more and more remote, really.

Actually, what would be nice is if the game's self declared backup coder threw us a bone and added new missions for level 5 and 6, since by December, there will be people who could be level 6, and readjusted the spawn rate for the beast vs g1 missions. It can't take that long to add another 2 groups of missions. The harder part would be getting the mission dialog written up, and I'm sure that wont take long.

All my 'bots have enough xp to be level 4's, but I've been there, and with just the one mission type that spawns at that level and with the low amount of other level 4's and the low amount of 'cons playing, it's very discouraging to stay at level 4 for too long. Right now I keep reconfiguring my 'bots to stay at level 3, only because there is more competition up to that level!

That's pretty much exactly what Burn is talking about. You could be there, you could be generating missions to give the cons and maxi's a chance at more XP so they can level up and you'd have more competition, but instead, you'd rather stay at level 3.

No, you have it wrong. When I WAS keeping my 'bots at level 4 I was the only one spawning the level 2-4 (Defend the refinery) missions, with more often than not no or not enough 'Cons available to join and put up a real fight. I would be scoring just 100 XP (and a steady increase of my win percentage) for the trouble. I'm definitely meeting more resistance being a level 3, meaning more fun for me AND I'm offering more chances at generating XP for lower level 'Cons, who at least can FIND me when my 'Bots are at level 3.

Works both ways right now I have 6 level 4s that have no one to play with. I spawn the missions for them anyway. If a few bots manage to hop in the beat me they get more points off me and level up faster. Makes them more fun later. but that is just me.

It depends on the time of day, I just generated 4 2-4 missions against the Cons and had opposition show up in each one. Hell, I even occasionally get Maximals in the 2-4 missions.

Hey,

I really want to participate in this thread, but I am in a hurry to catch a flight. I will be back on Monday and will give you my input. I have been out of the loop on the boards for the past two weeks, as work has been keeping me busy (but not too busy to play HMW).

For what it's worth, every time I see a Level 2-4 mission, one of my 'Cons is in it. Now if only the level 4's would show up more often, I could level up that much quicker. Image

The level 0-1's that tend to fill in the other missions just can't give any competition to my level 3's. And before you go harping on it yes I still join the lower level missions. It's a good way to terrorize all the new non-Decepticons. Image

Are we able to do so? I will if we can. As far as entering missions, I try whenever possibile. Most of the time the missions I enter time out with no competition though, so I stay in the arena mostly when I play...

There's nothing stoping you guys from going to level 5, you just wont have missions.

According to some, that is considered unsportsmanlike behavior. ;)

I am open to the idea of leveling up to L5 to fight in the arena. If you and Name Violation are up for it, then I will do it. I have 4 bots that can level up at a moment's notice. One of my bots will still need a month or so before he can go to level 5.

A counter arguement before about not leveling and using the arena when you do is that you're not optimum for that level or some crap.

This is complete and utter bs. When you're the top of the heap, and you go up in level, you're still top of the heap. There's no "I'm not the best at that level" when yeah, you are. Everyone else is lower than you, there for you're the best at that level. The fact that there are no missions is irelavent, since there's no groups that could out number you and take you on. You'd just be fighting one on one in the arena. Unless...

Another arguement about not using the missions was that since no one is showing up in them regularly, is that it's just padding your win %.

So, is that the real fear about leveling up to a higher level? That your win % might fall because you're not going to have a bunch of people you have, in some cases, 2-3 times the experience of your opponent, and are assured a win 90% of the time?

No, I do have purple bunnies that run off and copopulate and bring more purple bunnies that I have to mentally chase though. Or, my mind goes where it wants, I'm just along for the ride is another simpler explaination if you like. I just perfer the bunnies. They used to be pink, but that was 10 years and many many rabbit generations ago.

I thought it was pretty straight forward, I mean even you condensation of it says it. "People don't want to level up because they can assure themselves a win 90% of the time." But, you said you didn't want to up in levels because there's no competition at level 4 in the missions, and you didn't want to pad your win%. If you read through some of the other posts on the thread, you'll see that some one else said that they use the arena to build up their XP before using missions when they first go up, as a reason they didn't want to go up in level or something. It's a fine plan, and generally works well at the low end of the game, and when there's a lot of people higher ranked than you. If you go up in level, and the next closest person to you in experience is down by 1 million XP, how can you say "I don't want to go up and have a weaker build." when you'd be setting the pace? If you're king, and you go up in level, you're still king.

English is my 3rd language too. My first is mumble, my second is ramble. So bare with me.

I've said it before though. If you sit on a level padding your win%, you're helping yourself, but hurting others. You're telling the weaker people that shouldn't level up until they have enough XP to compete with you, so they stay down in level until they basically have enough level to have gone up at least twice. Remember before the reset? "Don't go up to level 1 until you have 100k XP. (10 times the minimum, no new player is going to stand a chance against that, and you can get pretty close to level 2, if not go to level 2 with that much) Don't go to level 2 until you have 250k XP. Don't go to level 3 until you have 1 million. Don't go to level 4 until you have 2.5 million." Remember that? That's because people want to pad their win % at the expense of other players.
