Weapon damage and their monetary cost

If a weapon is more expensive than a comparable weapon, will it do more damage than a cheaper alternative?

For an example:

Will a Double-Barreled Plasma Shell Shotgun do more damage than a laser pistol since it costs more (30,000 vs. 1,000) even though they both do light to very heavy damage?

I think the way it works is that it will hit near the higher end of the damage spectrum (very heavy damage) more than the lower end of the spectrum, but not always the case.

Forgot this, stats play an important role also. Strength will increase the melee weapon damage and speed will enable you to hit your target more often.

Bloodlust has 6 speed an rarely misses with his weapon, unless my opponent has 7-8 speed, then he'll miss once in awhile because if your opponent has more speed it seems to offset your speed by a little bit.

I know my character Vehemence has 6str and uses a sword and routinely hits for 25-30% damage on a char with no armor/end

str seems to goto both melee and gun damage. also after 5 str weapons end up lowering your damage output on average. brawling is way more effective in my opinion. hell 10 of my team is un armed, and 2 have gattling guns. once you have enough firepower and skill to back up a weapon it gets better. untill you get atleast a 6frpr brawling is the way to go after you get a decent str

^ That may be, but if you're a strafer you need some sort of weapon....at least that's how it works with my guys, I just don't see a brawler doing much damage when their tactic is strafe :P

debatable. i got 1 strafer whos got no weapon, but he's got a good str. even tho Fpr feeds strafe, a 6 fpr weapon is still doin less damage than a 6 str punch

Not disagreeing with you on that one, I think strafe's damage is amplified by a weapon, that's all :P

Yes. It's going to vary since a lot of this game is random, however, the weapons that cost more and requires greater stats to use will/should result in greater damage otherwise it just wouldn't make a lot of sense unless you're using weapons out of pure personal preference or if you feel your character would use a certain weapon. I am not going to go into how stats, armor, tactics, and weapons etc. influence damage, nor do I know how they influence each other.

I also have a question: is the "weapon damage scale" like this:

-Light(weakest)
-Moderate
-Heavy
-Very Heavy
-Incredible
-Devastating(strongest)

If i`m missing anything, or the scale is not right, please correct me. Thank you.

Si. You have it correct. Your faction subforum has a break down of what the damages mean as well.

And yet for that, I give Wingspan a tip of my hat. It's all subjective. :-B

This information should also be added to the Equipment page on the wiki. I might if i have time to mess about later, but anyone else is free to help with that.
