Tactics

Just a question, but from my experiences (lvl 0 and 1), but it seems that the success rate of RAM, Strafe, and Dodges are skewed.

For example, my dodge/avoid bots rarely dodge/avoid even though the stats could be 5 and 7 respectively.

On the other hand it seems that Rammers tend to ram more frequently, even with only 2 points place into the stats

Strafe seems to be somewhere in the middle where it appears that it doesn't go off till you put 6pts in and then they strafe like crazy.

Is this intended?

avoid is based off of speed. make sure to have plenty of that too

also some times you gotta make sacrifices to the RNG gods :P

Sounds like you're just getting the crap end of the RNG. It happens to everyone. But, adding on to what NV said about speed, you can't avoid tactic attacks either.

I have at least 5 or 6 into speed for my dodgers. However, every mission and arena (9 today) I have lost with my dodger. Some to other dodgers that have far less invested than him. At this point I am just frustrated. I know it isn't rigged, or anything... guess I am just trying to figure out the game again and the constant loosing even when the dice should be in my favor is frustrating.

It's all a numbers game.

Think of it this way, you could have 6 6-sided dice, while someone else could only have 4. If you both roll all of them at the same time you will have a number between 6~36, your opponent 4~24, sure you should be able to roll a higher number but you could easily roll a low 16, to their high 21.

Yes having a higher tactic with the appropriate primary stat should out preform, but it easily could be out done by a character with lower skills.

And that doesn't even come into elements like Ram stuns, friendly strafe hits, or the simple breakdown of the characters involved in that mission as all of your stats are going to effect the randomness of the result.

Editor put that very nicely and trust me until late in lvl 2 the RNG is a very big crap shoot. Just keep at it gets better and thus more fun but no matter how high you get the RNG still has it's moments that make you go :BANG_HEAD:

its still a crap shoot after level 2. sometimes i'll have missions where a 10 ram never fires. same with a 8 avoid :BANG_HEAD:

That's the nature of the beast, especially in missions, where your good rolls might have been wiped out by the computer deciding that wasn't the most likely result.
