Safari Hunt - The Discussion Thread

Ok, this idea has been floating in my head for about a week. I figured it would be a good idea to see if people are interested. Also, any advice on running mini-games would be appreciated.

Inspired by the Beast Wars episode Call of the Wild, I propose a Safari hunt. The aim is simple: Stasis lock mechs of the opposing faction who have beast modes.

EDIT:

The Rules

1 - Only characters with Beast Mode alts are valid targets. Beast Mode Alts are defined as the following Alt classes:

Air Animal
Arachnid
Dinosaur
Insect
Land Animal
Monster
Sea Creature
Small Animal

2 - Said targets must belong to a Safari Hunt volunteer Target.

3 - Target players can also be Hunters. Consider it the inherent risk in hunting wild animals.

All pretty self explanatory.

4 - Basic rules from the alt-hunts apply. 1 scoresheet per Hunter, which will be kept in a single post. Only kills listed in this post will count.

5 - Only kills made in Missions count. Post the link with the time of the kill.

6 - Each stasis locked target character is worth 1 kill. Victory will be determined by whoever has racked up the most points by the end of the hunt.

7 - The exception to 6 is Psychout. And stasis locks scored against his team are worth 2 points.

8 - Being killed by your own Kremzeek does not count as a valid kill.

9 - The Safari Hunt will run from 12:00pm BST Monday June 18th to 12:00pm BST Saturday. That's Midday Monday to Midday Saturday, British Time.

The Targets

Blackstreak - Scout Patrol - 6 targets - Level 3-4

Kaijubot_uk - Beast Legion - 11 targets - Level 2

Phasewing - Warhawks - 6 targets - Level 3-5

Rattrap666 - Kings of the Urban Jungle - 8 targets - Level 0-1

Spiritimus Prime - Desperate Heroes - 7 targets - Level 0-1

Steve2275 - Z Everchanging Experimentals - 1 target - Level 6

Waylander - Autobot Wrecking Crew - 8 targets - Level 2-4

Windracer - Disposable Heroes - 11 targets - Level 4-8

:CON: Decepticon

Grimlock86 - Rexcons - 4 targets - Level 3-5

Pariah - Darkness Forged - 6 targets - Level 1

Psychout - Warporn Industries - 3 targets - Level 2-3 - Worth Double Points

Redimus - Exitium - 1 target - Level 5

RobotinDisguise - Destron Exchange Convoys - 5 targets - Level 1-3

Wilko - Smeg for Brains - 1 target - level 2

Zero Zero - The Elusive Bounty - 3 targets - Level 0

I'm in, and 50% of my team are beast/dino alts.

you could just designate the big five as targets.

Big Five?

An Elephant Alt, A lion Alt, A Buffalo Alt, A leopard Alt, and a Rhinoceros Alt. the big Five are traditionally held to be the five most difficult Big Game to hunt

I see, and I think there could be a problem with some of those alts (Largely the Elephant and Buffalo) either being unavilable to one side or non-existant (Autobots only have a mammoth to stand in for the Elephant, and I don't think there is a Buffalo alt at the moment). Hence why I'd prefer volunteers to be targets.

I'm in, most of my characters are beasts. So bring on the boom!

Well, that makes 2 Bots and 1 Con so far (My team are probably the most suicidal group of Autobots outside the Suicide Squads, judging by their actions in Fight Club, so obviously they're in).

I'll work out the details and a start date over the weekend. Hopefully some more players will be interested.

I'll volunteer. I really want to change Quetzuma's alt mode to that transmetal falcon when it's possible. So I only have 3 beasts. Will that be enough?

I'm thinking a safari truck. Like This Image or the Tralbreaker Alt Ican't find.

It's not ideal, but as long as you keep them active it should be OK.

Incidentally, can everyone who's volunteered post a link to their team, so I can see what sort of numbers are about.

The current plan is this. (And also quite basic).

1) Only characters with Beast Mode alts are valid targets. Beast Mode Alts are defined as the following Alt classes:

Air Animal
Arachnid
Dinosaur
Insect
Land Animal
Monster
Sea Creature
Small Animal

2) Said targets must belong to a Safari Hunt volunteer Target.

3) Target players can also be Hunters. Consider it the inherent risk in hunting wild animals.

All pretty self explanatory.

4) Basic rules from the alt-hunts apply. 1 scoresheet per Hunter, which will be kept in a single post. Only kills listed in this post will count.

5)Only kills made in Missions count. Post the link with the time of the kill.

6) Each stasis locked target character is worth 1 kill. Victory will be determined by whoever has racked up the most points by the end of the hunt.

7) The exception to 6 is Psychout. And stasis locks scored against his team are worth 2 points.

8) Being killed by your own Kremzeek does not count as a valid kill.

I'm not starting the Safari Hunt just yet as I'd like to make sure everyone signed up so far has a suitable spread of targets.

If anyone has any suggestions on improvements to the rules, go ahead and make them.

EDIT: Added extra rules.

Darkness Forged at your service.

And when they are inactive again, two more of my bots will be reset to beast alts, bringing my total to 9 beasts and 3 tanks. I figure the tanks can be my "safari trucks".

Lets do this thing

Well, I'm tempted to ask why your team is all decepticon characters, but that's for another thread.

Welcome to the Safari.

WarPorn Industries can throw Cold Iron, Death Eater and, of course, The Zombie Cheerleader into the mix.

Ill also reconfig Steel City into a beasie alt as he's the teams Bounty Hunter, so thats 4 of mine you can add.

So we've lured you away from the desolate wastes that host the Fight Club, have we?

I'm sorely tempted to offer double points for your team, Psychout.

Welcome to the Safari.

Go for it!
The Zombie Cheerleader will be munching on your dino's walnut sized brains before you can say "Jeeve's, pass the elephant gun!!"

Don't think I'll do the hunting, but I'll volunteer my team. Not sure how frequently they'll be appearing, but hey, all of my 'bots are beasts running the gamut from l.'s 4-8:

Disposable Heroes

List of Targets:
Windracer Level 8
Aurora Level 6
Raider Level 6
Aquila Level 6
Frostbyte Level 5
Feralbrawn Level 6
Raindance Level 6
Wildstrike Level 5
Stormflash Level 6
Blaze Level 4
Snowfire Level 4
and the last one MAY be a target should the Unicorn alt be rotated in this week(?):
Silverblade ... most likely Level 4

Glad you could join us, Windy.

I'll do some maths later to see how the sides line up. I'm currently looking to be starting the Safari some time this week.

I can throw in 4 beasts (they tend to be hunters instead of preys) from my team, the
REXCONS
Targets (they bite back):
Huncon -panther
Chaoslock -hyena
Oilpire -bat
and
Wezcon -lion... or tiger... liger
