semi-random topic: what universe do you play in?

For a lot of us, HMW is it's own existance, but I see a lot of bios written from different poitns of view from different timelines. And even, there are many variations of HMW. (Inferno, for example) Soem characters take roots from Armada forward. A few or them base out of Animated, and I've seen many who play out of neo- and classic-G1, even a few based on comics thereof. I know I cited Spotlight:Shockwave in Rundown's bio. Several of my character bios have attempted to piece together a lot of universes and bridge continuity gaps. I enjoy trying to make soemthing that makes sense, as do others here. And then it gets interesting, going to battle with an ally who is in your reference universe the enemy, but because the are using someone from another refewrence universe, and through the joys of name-reuseage, now your ally.
Thought maybe this could be a fun topic to stir disscussion, and feel out where HMW lands in the grand canononical scheme of things, or just have some fun. How do you play it out, and where from in the multiverse?

I personally see HMW existing in separate timeline much like Transtech.
Many teams are natural inhabitants, while others have arrived from other known or unknown dimensions.
I see my team as being naturals who have been directly affected by many of the in-game events.
Even the big reset of a couple years ago was worked into becoming the rational for many changes I made to the team and individual characters.

Interesting reading too. And a great use of the Great Shutdown.
I'm now tempted to go back and reuse it. For moi, I've alsways had Flashwave base out of a pocket dimension, possibly between many, and eventually building a multi-versial capable ship with which to study the cosmos in. His dimension at least was one of combining the known fictions, and had been more dependednt on them than the HMW. HMW for me has always flipped between the "simple" transtech varient and something along the lines of a collision between several universes, creating an overlapping terrain, where walking out of an eastern part of Iacon puts you in another universe than one going West. I kinda equate the Great Shutdown to the Great Reset of the Marvel G1, or as one where the dimensions pulled apart, and then shifted back together.
Hmm, you know, that would make snese for your "void" too...

My old team was part of Jeep!'s Transformers:Extinction universe, as were a few other commander's units. The current team isn't officially in any universe, but if the bios ever get written, they will almost certainly belong is the same universe as my previous team.

I try to stay in the G1 universe with a bit of spill over depending on what names or alt-modes I want to use. I also use some of my own names which I've taken mostly from comics or TV shows.

Ive always regarded HMWs Cybertron a desolate wasteland (IDW's Stormbringer style) with new teams being former inhabitants (or arrivals from wherever for the dimension hoppers) only coming back on line recently and so are forced to join a side by necessity rather than a preference/adversion to war and the premise of the game is us simply fighting to survive (or because that what we live for in most 'cons case). Abandoned teams are those who have fallen in battle, and all the changes are just the instability of a knackered planet drifting through space...
Quite ironic considering the current state of the game really.
My own team reflect my interet in dark alternate future, horror and mythological literature which is why it has an even further demonic/apocalyptic edge to it. Earth has been discovered though as I do have a
headmaster even if it is undead...

My guys are intertwined completely with the HMW universe, however some G1 comes out a little bit.

Click me!I don't think we've actually written up a concise history of our universe, but there's a list of locations and characters (all current or former HMW characters from various commanders from all factions).
Basically, the universe is inspired by the Marvel Universe, but with a lot of added history (and a lot of recent history thanks to the tournies myself and JP have run in the past).
If you're interested in existing within the same universe, feel free to PM me, and I'll try and get Jeep! to explain it better than I have (the more the merrier).

This nicely sums up how I have always seen the HWM’s version of Cybertron.

My team has been G1 since creation pre 86 movie. Though not necessarily in the same verse. Perhaps an alternate reality.

I've always thought of HMW as kind of a dumping ground. Cybertron is in this universe where they all tend to collide and if you don't have a route or if you're torn without destination from your own universe you end up here. Which isn't to say it's bad, just that it's an extreme melting pot.
Even then when I write things in my head for my characters with their stories they literally could drop into any of the TF universes, mainly because everything they have to deal with is so far removed from what's going on in the main universes that they could step in at any time and work with whatever story is going on.
I tend to do my own thing. I guess that sums it up better than anything. LOL

I have used charracters form every almoust every series of TF, mostly I like headmasters, masterfoce and pretenders, but some cases I use TF without alternate form.
I try to recreat differend universe lines to crash into same team.
I had friend who used ghost Transformers, but she did change the bios and names again.

More likely to be universe or timelines because all the competitors and comrades are mixed up.
