I consider these [6] bots to be my best spec'd out of all of my 12 ...

But the first 6 listed I dont understand whats the deal, because As far as I know I have them tech spec'd out as best as I can according to the stats needed.

An I even pick my fights by examining stats of other bots in battles first. Yet somehow all I can do is "slow" my Energon loss. I dont seem to gain any Energon "at all" since I hit 1st lvl.

PLEASE someone take a look and give me some pointers an help, as I need it soon as my Energon is getting very close to 1000 now.

I was where you are at just the other week. I joined back in 2004, but left then came back last month - I read a lot of the beginner's threads to learn what to do.

The key thing I did - wait until you hit 30K exp before you upgrade your bots. It gave a few more upgrades when I leveled up and I wasn't getting my butt kicked as much.

It was a ton of help and it told me how to level up as well as which sites to learn more. Key thing - wait a bit to level up until you have enough exp for several upgrades in level 1. I am actgually winning pretty often since I waited and just got my exp up for a while.

Thats the page I was looking at, when I corrected the top 6 to being how they are now.

...the top 6 were... worse than the last 6 before I went there. But its still not enough to keep my head above water. I still loose energon.

So do I need to do a total reset on all them [of the ones whos alt modes are currently still available]? An leave them un-upgraded till I get them alot more exp each?

Jetfire 2004 is right. The problem you're experiencing isn't necessarily the configs, it is the fact that you just don't have enough XP and enough upgrades to compete with other level 1s, many of which will be running around with 13 upgrades compared to your 4 or 5. Naturally, the bots with nearly three times your upgrades are going to stomp a mudhole in your bots.

Level back down to 0 for a bit. Back when I started I upgraded most of mine in the 25,000 to 30,000 XP range. It will give you a good opportunity to build up a nice base of energon that will prove useful.

I did a reset then left them upgraded. It isn't as much fun and it sucks waiting, but it worked out better for me. I upgraded to level 1 about the same time as you and I had the same exact problem. Luckily, the extra exp came and I was able to level up to 1 most of my bots. I still have 6 down at level 0 even though I could level up - I am just having to wait.

Well I just did a reset on 3 of them, an my average exp atm on all 3 is 10k-12.5k. So I guess I need to wait a long time to do upgrades.


Q. does ram/strafe/etc count as a upgrade towards lvl or just tech specs?

Well you could split the pack intentionally. Keep six at level 0 for your energon supplies, and keep the other 6 at level 1 for the possible xp benefits. You have to look at your xp gains for lvl 1 missions though, to see if it's actually worth toughing it out. Also don't forget to take into account the potential (and probable at this point anyway) increase in CR time.

I was in this situation too not so long ago and decided to train my team up to 35k before hitting level 1. I found even then i was only just breaking even.... Still am actually, but thats more to do with my carelessness when sending my guys into missions

Every upgrade counts towards level, whether it's a stat or a tactic. This is why dual tactic bots tend to level up faster than single tactic bots.

Well I am not as worried about the reset comming, as I am just getting my battle tactics/spec'n down pat...

As with all the talk of the V2.0 HMW coming soon with the reset, it will come with alot of extra/new stuff which I am looking forward to finding.

But looking over all my bots... I think I will reset them all "save for Typhoon". As his iron armor cost "ALOT", so I would rather make him push on thru than to reset him an have to re-armor him... an just cost more in the long run.

well, there ideas helped. I dropped most of mine to 0 lvl an I just won some energon in combat, atm of this edit i am back up to 228.... so [HOPEFULLY ] I will be ok now. lol

An as for the pics..

That last one of megaplex, I found somewhere a a few months back. I just color edited it with Paint shop Pro8, which is how I do most of my color editing... than an its easier to color edit a existing pic than to TOTALLY freehand draw a new pic... or so I think, .

The pics of Titanus & Hhotwheels are freehand draws while looking at pics I had around the house. Um... its been a bit. But I "think" I looked at of prime in one of the dreamwave comics for titanus, as his design was he was supposed to have been a previous Optimus upgrade attempt by A3.
An hotwheels pic I did lookin at a printout of that lithograph pic of arcee.

I have always been able to recreate most stuff I see an redraw it freehand. I offered a bit back on my original account before I lost it months back if anyone needed pics done of toons. But my post disapeared, guess the mods didnt want ppl goin crazy on me an then me goin nuts from the "please do my art leghumpin"... lol.

Think like a con and dominate those who are weaker than you!

Free Advice for the all for the last few weeks. Cheapest and easiest way to get to level 1 is to reset all bots to 2 speed 2 avoid or similar speed & avoid combinations and grind, grind, grind. Then when you're sitting prety on energon & xp reset them to whatever config you want at level 1.

Yeah that's also true - I keep forgetting there are more decent weapons available now!
