Quiet Day

Man where is every one? I honestly think all of the Autobots minus 3 people are playing. That and this place has gotten really quiet over the past few days.

Some times it happens, and with spring break coming those that play from school won't be on.

Bah. How was your birthday? How was the Soundwave cake? Gotta say I am jealous that I don't get one of those on my Birthdays.

Sadly there was no cake, that was a picture of cake I really wish I had. Maybe I'll get that actually done next year. I did get dinner out of it though.

Bah. You are just being kind in not telling me that it was really not just a Soundwave cake but an Icecream Soundwave cake with chocolate crunchies inside.

.... Damnit, now I think I am going to have to try to make that this weekend.

It's been quiet for over two years.

Eh. Well, we can always try to get more noise out about it. Has anyone thought about trying to develop a facebook app or something along that lines to get more popularity out?

I think it's another 'no programmer' situation.

Also I can't see how you could link a facebook app to this game.

I have never designed a facebook app, so I can't answer this. However I have played a few before and I can say they are pretty much web pages with SQL/Connection links back to a host database server. 90% of the code is written here and would just have to be over layed to another source code in my assumption.... again, not everything works out in the real world as it does in my scrambled brain.

Hmm. I doubt it'd be a popular idea outside of the HMW community, because it would divert traffic from the site.

Well, the news articles are posted on Facebook as well.

Only as a link to a Seibertron.com page.

Yeah, it's been quiet here for a while, but just you wait til we get a new programmer... Then the fair-weather posters will be back with a vengeance. I just hope whoever it is knows how to handle the crowd, we've had some 'delicate' types in the past.

As for a facebook/iPhone- style app, there are a 2 main problems; firstly a programmer is required and, secondly, HMW generates page hits for the site which boosts it's google performance score (or something like that) so the game is exclusively seibertron.com only.

If it's any consolation tho, the bots have always been the quieter of the 2 factions.

And at the end of the day, we still have Burn to keep us entertained!

God that's like the blue screen of death but instead of just killing the comp it kills your eyes and causes permanent mental scarring.

Maybe Australia should ban Naked Burn instead of the new Mortal Kombat game? :P

oh oh oh! They didn't just ban it. They've instructed Customs to be on the look out for it. Any caught importing it gets slapped with a $100k fine.

Gotta love the priorities

So when are you ordering it alongside an unregistered Masterpiece Megatron WITH third party attachment and no stupid ass orange cap?

And don't they know these days all it takes is one good emulator and BOOM Scorpion throws a shrimp....or Johnny Cage on the barbie? The people who want it will get it.

To quote Jeff Goldblum: Life finds a way.

But seriously why Is Australia so anal about this kind of thing? No offense meant Burn (honestly), I'm just wondering why.

They have enough criminals there already, and don't want to encourage any more.

Well it may not have a third party attachment but it definitely doesn't have a stupid ass orange cap

Because apparently even though there are a heap of people jumping up and down screaming for a R18+ classification for games (we have them for movies ...), there's a smaller minority who you know, always get what they want.

We're so attractive to criminals we're constantly bombarded will illegal immigrants arriving by boat! Then they get pissy when they're not allowed residency status after they start a riot and burn down the detention centres they were held in while they were processed ...

Yeah but they were deported by nutjob dictators for stealing bread.

These ones are mostly fleeing nutjob dictators who didn't have any bread.
