In the future

Right now I wanted to say thank you to Sustain for making the XP mini games and the scavenger hunt.

I was also curious if we (as a community) would like to start co-op games in the future. By this I mean I will be creating a new contest after Sustain's are over.

The winner of that contest will then work with me to create another game. So if we look at the one I just ran and say Bumblevivisector won, he and I would work to create a new contest. If Name_Violation won that one, both he and Bumblevivisector would work together to create a new one.

The way I look at it is in the past the torch was just handed off and eventually died because of one reason or another (not enough time, no money, etc). This way if there are two people working on it and one doesn't have enough time there is at least a partner to pick up the slack.

Another benefit would be having another set of eyes look at it and say (Are you crazy man??? You really want to do that?) or (WTF? This is so confusing I don't know if I am suppose to light my house on fire or give all my money to the homeless).

This will also hopefully help in getting more people to participate as if they win they can have help and still be able to be creative.

So what do you all think?

A lot goes into a game, depending on what it is. The Scavenger hunt takes time to find alts that are in use enough that it is plausible to hunt them. An Alt hunt is similar if not more time consuming. While I think it would be nice to have more in involved I don't know if coaxing a winner into working is the best way to do it.

Psychout is able to award Alts that's a cool prize. Other things are custom sigs, that was the first thing I won anyway.

Yeah, thanks to grad school, I probably wouldn't have the spare time to devote to that until July, and even if creative lightning struck for a concept, it might end up being something that only made sense to me. It is an interesting idea for extra incentive to win, though, and I'd be willing to try whenever I had the time.

The important thing to remember is to space them out otherwise people will get burnt out/bored with them one after the other.

Yeah having them too close together does get draining, it is good to have some down time though. Passing the torch is a decent idea but it'd be best kept within the limits of who actually wants to make and/or run these things and it being discussed and such, or maybe even toss out some co-op tourneys/games like Red and some of the others us to do.
