Is armor really worth the energon? I have tested the armor but it just does not seem to make a difference.I am wondering if i should waist the xp to get a rank for new armor or just leave it alone and get the cheap armor.

i just wanted to know if it worked for you and does it make a difference.

its worth it if you have high enough str to wear a lot.

rank 4 or higher armor on a 10 str build does decent.

As N_V stated, it will make a difference.

I have done tests on this and I can say this about Armor.
It works. (I no longer have the data to back this up, so I can not provide actual statistics).

To put it simply, if you have 2 str and 0 rank you mitigate a small amount of damage (Think a few points or a low percentage).

However 5 str and 0 rank you mitigate a much larger (double digit percentage). Adding rank really reduces the damage you take from weapons / physical damage. Right now the bot that survives the longest for me is only level 3 but has 10 strength and 2 rank. He is able to take most shots from higher levels (4/5) and see only a 3-15% drop in health. My next bot has 5 strength (same level) and rank 2 armor. He takes about a 12-20% drop in health. My lowest level 3 has 2 str and 0 rank and if she gets hit can loose sometimes up to 50% drop in damage from the same person that my armored bot shrugged off.

At levels 0 its a waste. At level 1 unless you are building a hit or miss rammer, its a waste. If you put points into strength, buy the armor. The damage mitigation is worth it in the long run.
At level 2 its worth it if you have at least 2 or 3 points to spare for your build. I would recommend putting in the points into str over a tactic just for survivability.

Keep in mind that the damage you take from tactics will not be mitigated. This is what Endurance is for. Endurance, I am told, for the most part also mitigates a small amount of battle damage (weapons/actions) but I don't have the data to back this up.

I personally don't find armor a waste. I find weapons a bigger drain of Energon than armor. My top killer doesn't use weapons and has 10 tons of armor. I do recommend you look at your build though before you decide if armor is for you or not. For example if you are looking to build an avoidance build then instead of putting points into strength and buying armor I would put the points into endurance (If not speed and courage).

Strength does have an impact however on damage so keep that in mind. You get physical damage and it does act as a modifier to damage on weapons as well.

Too bad you aren't on the autobot side. I would gladly through you a bunch of energon to help you build up.

you are right, armor is not always a waist but my bot is not a level 3 with ten stregth and over two million xp.I only have five strength and im a level two and I dont have enough xp to add a rank. The reason that I say that it is a waist is because I change my stats a lot and every time I reset it,it gets rid of the armor

Ah.. that explains it.

I change my lower levels a ton too experiment with different builds. 5 Strength should have shown significant reduction however in damage taken. Iron armor is actually some of the best armor in the game till you hit rank 3 or 4. If you have a build you are constantly playing with though then you are absolutely right. You are going to burn through a ton of energon that way.

Good luck man and if you need something that I could help you with (outside of throwing my bots in so you can beat up on them) then let me know.

I have only played with ranks 1 and 2. From what I can remember, there is a slight difference, but how much I couldn't tell you. YMMV due to strength and rank. Once I have more money I will be willing to test for a week the first 5 ranks and the differences with damage, however the best test would be a constant opponent in the arena that would be willing to just fight the same way through.

Its negligible but there is a small difference.

Its not really noticeable 'til you get to L3-4 and even then its pretty minor.

The general assumed rule is that the longer it takes to install it, the better the protection.
