Here is the place to pitch new story ideas and the like. This is also the place to recruit other people's characters into stories, etc. Moderators and the admin will try to comment as much as we can, and provide feedback.
If you're looking for them, the old Story Idea and Brainstorm threads are in the Archives.

Speaking of recruiting people, I'm curious to know who's interested in playing an Insecticon. I have Ransack on my NPC list, and I think reintroducing the Bugs as the nasty little bunch of assassins they are in the Dreamwave comics would be great fun. Any takers? I know Chaos Bringer expressed interest in Chop Shop...anyone else?

I'd be interested in Bombshell, so I could mix science, mind control and talking funny, but if my application for Banzai-Tron goes through I won't have room for him, except as an NPC.

This is a little different, but I was considering introducing the hate plague. And oh yeah, I'd love to be a insecticon, but aren't they still dinobot prisoners?

No, when the Dinobot ship crashed on the Moon, they managed to get free and flew back to Cybertron. You can see it in the Archived Moon Alpha thread.
And the Hate Plague would alter the game dynamic a bit too much, when we're doing pretty fine as it is. A smaller-scale storyline might be a better place to start.

Ok, no hate plague... But I did put in an application for venom. I figure being a paranoid nut should be fun.

I finally applied for Chop Shop. I'm looking forward to RPing him assuming I get approved.
So let's start brainstorming. What can we do with the Insecticons now that more and more players are getting interested in them? They're not going to be conquering South America again are they?
And what of the plan for a Seeker vs. Sweep showdown? Are we still onboard for that or have plans been halted?

I was playing with that plotline in Polyhex, but the stupid commanders got in the way. Who decided this silly war was more important than 2 groups of cocky jerks having a discreete punchup?
The main issue with that plotline is that currently, pretty much all the sweeps are deployed to Kaon, while the Seekers are almost all in Polyhex. From a military point of view, it's probably for the best, but...

Anything can happen. I'm unfamilliar with Polyhex since all of my posting so far has been in Kaon but I'm sure someone could come up with a reason why the Sweeps might have to come there or why the Seekers might have to return to Kaon.

Why not combine both ideas we've been talking about? Have stascream or scourge use the insecticons to try to assassinate one another, by playing on venom's paranoia?

First we need a way to start the rivalry going. Perhaps the Autobots could try to retake Polyhex? That's just one option but there has to be a reason for the Sweeps to have to save the Seekers' metal skins and thereby proving both their worth and the Seekers' outdatedness. The Seekers would then have to fight to keep their place in the Decepticon forces and the Sweeps would have to fight to earn their rightful place.
But we need a reason why Megatron wouldn't just scrap both sides for their infighting.

Why not have Megatron just let it go because it's amusing?

Unless the whole thing happens right under his nose, or becomes so heated that the commanders have no choice but to call him in, Megatron would probably never notice any infighting in his troops. The Decepticons are nothing if noy good at delegating in this RPG.
If it happened at Kaon, then the 2 sides have plenty of places to fight discreetely, but if it turns aerial then everyone would see. Similarly in Polyhex, Shockwave would be even harder on people being insubordinate. The new base in Tagan would probably be the best for it given the commanders and the work keeping everyone busy, but neither side is there. Only a full Autobot attack would be likely to bring them there.

Just a question regarding the insecticons. Who would they target? I'm not sure there's somebody important enough to assasinate, but unimportant enough to not seriously affect the war.

The upper Decepticon ranks might tolerate brawling and fighting, but if it escalates into an open shooting match between the Seekers and Sweeps, they will put a swift stop to it. Assassinating and declaring war inside the faction will not be tolerated.

Guess that means it'll have to be a secret. Also, I've run into a bit of a perdicament. I just found out that my character was being played before, but was dropped. Should I just play this off as amnesia? It would make fora good story.

If someone is assassinated it won't be a secret. You can go through the RPG archives to find out the history of the character. He was in the Tagan Heights I believe. Also, this is not the thread to ask these questions. This thread is for input on story ideas only.

In terms of Insecticon targets, why not the Throttlebots? It would be a good matchup, since the Throttlebots are full, and the Insecticons could take on them when they get one or two more players. Anybody else got ideas for targets?

Wheelie?

That would be fun. The Deluxe Insecticons are in on this right?

OK, here's an idea. Why not reintroduce the Fuzors? The difference could be that they're a combination of vehicles, like mixing a tank and a helicoptor, or a car and a boat?

G1 already has a few things like that, including the Triple-Changers, and the Duocons. There are two Duocons, Battletrap and Flywheels, both Decepticons. Battletrap is being played at the minute, but Flywheels is free. As for Triple-Changers, Astrotrain (one of the more Fuse-y), Octane, and potentially Sandstorm are still available.
Of course, since this is Cybertron, all kinds of alt modes are possible, and they can look like all kinds of mashups of earth vehicles. They just wouldn't be a special type: Their alt mode just happen to look like multiple things from an Earth perspective.
The BW Fuzors happened because that series used specially recognisable alt-modes: a pre-earth Cybertron just won't do the same thing.

Okay, we have a problem. The Insecticons have gotten involved in the fight at Kaon, and they're not using fake guns...

Yeah! Buncha pansies can't fight Sweeps when they're at full strength! Chickens! >.> lol Kidding.
I think it's planned though with an RPG mod leading the way.
Not only does it cause problems for the Sweeps, but it does cause some friction in the Insecticons.
Dissention, infighting.
Every group has their "StarScream" looking to take the lead.
Sweeps, Seekers, Insecticons, Decepticons in general.
I think it'll be interesting to see how Venom handles things as the leader.

I've come up with agood plan for Venom: Beat six kinds of hell out of Shrapnel, and find a new sub-commander.

Guys, this thread is for discussing storyline ideas, presenting them up for mods to look at and for general discussion. If you want to chat about current stuff going on in the game or just chat there is the chatterbox which is much more appropriate for that.
