Dying various substances

Hello all,

As per the subject field, I am curious as to how dying would affect non-plastics.

As such, I was wondering if anyone can answer the following:

Will RIT (or similar) dye milliput, green stuff and other such epoxy putties?

Will it dye factory painted parts? Or would the paint not take the dye and also preserve the colour of the plastic underneath?

Also, would it take to the rubberised plastic often found on pointy bits of transformers? Or indeed would the water temp warp those pieces during the process?

Many thanks in advance,

Y0
