HLJ Shipping.....

I was trolling through the options kits section of HLJ (looking for hands/manipulators), and I found Kotobukiya's Poly Units, which would be awesome for adding joints to 'Formers various and sundry...

EXCEPT.

Their shipping costs are outrageous! I picked out 14 items (a couple weapons kits caught my eye too ;) ). I had to do some quick math to figure out EMS shipping (Seriously? C'mon guys, it's 2010, get your damn checkout system to calculate shipping!) and realized it would set me back triple what the parts cost! FedEx would be eight times. :BOOM: SAL would only be double, but that takes waaaaaaay too long, and can't be tracked. No thanks.

I haven't bought from them for five or maybe eight years, but I don't remember their prices being that bad. Is it the economy, are they being greedy, or am I just out of touch?

Funny, I think the same thing about BBTS shipping to Australia.

But then it's not their fault, it's the postal system.

HLJ to Australia is bloody cheap as. SAL also won't take that long, normally I get my stuff within 2 weeks.

One of the big reasons shipping between Japan and the U.S. has gotten more expensive lately is the U.S. Dollar has gone down in value, it’s getting better than it was thankfully.

The sad part is, I work in foreign exchange and see yen trades go past me every day. Still, I didn't think it was that bad.
