Add more segments to Beast Wars TM Megatron/Armada Predacon tail?

After seeing this excellent custom from spoonman at TFW2005.com (http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/radicons- ... 3-6-a.html)...

I have been inspired to make one for myself in case Hasbro does not produce and release all of the Dinobots from Fall of Cybertron.

But instead of giving him a fixed neck, I want to give him an articulated one and so far my best bet is the tail from either Beast Wars Transmetals Megatron or Armada Predacon (as seen in the pic below).

After carefully taking apart and analyzing the tail of my own Armada Predacon, I found that the ball and socket joints of each segment are the same size. Therefore, I believe it is possible to add more segments from the tail of another Armada Predacon.

But before I jump the gun, I would like to know if anybody has tried to add more segments from the tail of one Beast Wars Transmetal Megatron and/or Armada Predacon to another one?

If so, then I could use this as a first step towards making a custom Paddles as well.

I just combined the tail segments as you described and it worked fine. I just matched each segment up so that it it was paired with the same size segment so that it would taper off evenly and it looks pretty good for a nice long neck. Keep in mind that those ball joints are often kinda loose/floppy though, and the more weight you add, the worse it gets so you may need to tighten them up a bit using the nail polish or superglue trick.

edit: Here's a pic (sorry for the lighting/quality, all I had was my crappy cell phone cam):

Did the same thing too when that Beast Wars TM Megatron tail that I bought on eBay finally arrived and came to the same idea about tightening the ball joints after I combined the segments of both tails a week ago.

Thank you anyway for your imput. ;)

I appreciate it. ;)

No problem :).

I look forward to seeing your new custom once it's done. I think it's a really cool idea :D!

I don't know if the scale would be right, but you might get some of your parts from Seasaur from Magmatron:

Those ball jointed flippers should prove useful at least.
