He is the only character to have ever defeated (not killed) Obi-Wan Kenobi whilst having the low ground.

Which leads to my counter to paljaki's post.
paljaki wrote:At least with TF's, the play value is much greater (IMO of course).
My favorite play pattern of all time is definitely a more world building pattern. So little figs that can pilot ships and vehicles, and populate play sets. I also have a love for building dioramas, as you can see, and my focus for my displays, no matter the toys is always to try to create little worlds. Or more like battle fields. So even though Star wars figs have less poseability, the have the world building aspect I love.

Also I grew up on Kenner Star Wars so articulation has never been a huge thing for me. I mean I love it, but I grew up with out it. Towards the end of my 3.75 days, right before 3D Clone Wars hit, the figs actually did start to get really articulated. The Clone mold was almost as good as the more modern Microman figures. Almost. But what the hell happened?! Now they've reverted to only Kenner shoulders and hips, and the prices have doubled! I call that a kick in the pants!

But all this about play pattern is probably why I find Titans Return so damn appealing. Finally some true TF world building.
And then there's the Diaclone reboot? Straight up my ally!

paljaki wrote:I'm happy to stick with TF's :D
At the end of the day, so am I. There is much more play value per toy over all than a lot of other toys.

Cody IS the dope, and he is just the tip of the iceberg. Vader is all kinds of awesome!

and... Whatchu talkin' 'bout N. Cody is the strongest? Like physical strength?
I mean Chewie can rip a dudes arms off.

Are you saying Cody can't? ;)

Totally agree with you on the TR worldbuilding play pattern front. I just love the sense of immersion I get from my figures having actual cockpits, implying they'd actually function like vehicles rather than the place the driving wheel should be instead occupied by a load of robot junk.

I would figure.

Also, am I the only one that is suprised that they did Cody and Jango instead of Rex and Boba? You would think that Rex and Boba would have been better choices since they are vastly more popular (though, I'm glad that Cody got released since he's my favorite SW character).

I think they did Cody to go with Obi Wan in that run. And I think they did Jango to make more bad guys specific to Obi Wan as well. If they ever do a Clone Wars Anikan, I'd bet they do a Rex.

I 'd really like to have a fin head Clone in this style. But what I'd really love is a Capt. Fordo. The red ARC Trooper Commander.

And have no fear N. Boba is coming this year. ;)

I would chalk Cody's defeat of Kenobi up to intelligence over brute strength. Like all the special Clones, he was programmed to be the best strategic analytical mind. He can asses a foe and adapt to the situation. But Clones weren't made with super strength or anything like that.
I'd agree that is an impressive feat for sure though. ;)^

Fair enough. I do hope that they make a Rex, though. He was awesome in the Clone Wars[/quote]

The red guy from the 2003 Clone Wars? He'd be pretty cool. I wish that they'd make a generic clone to army build, but I fear that it would be considered to similar to the stormtrooper to warrant a release.

Consider him on my want list, then. I've always been a Fett fan.

The 3.75 Star Wars collection deserves a place in the Tron, love that old Kashyyyk/Endor setup. A little bit of variety never hurt anybody. Assuming there's a TF shelf that can be boxed up, of course.

Shajaki, I'd recommend the Star Wars S.H Figuarts, but it could be an expensive rabbit hole and the prices are rather high. But they're so good. I definitely plan on getting the TLJ Rey.

Rex was awesome! Again though, I would really like him as a fin head. I love me some dang Clones and Clone War era SW!

I need to watch the 3D Clone Wars again. It's been a while. N, did you like the 2003 Cartoon Network 2D Clone Wars? Probably one of my favorite pieces of Star wars anything.

On brickset.com, they have listed several new "yet to be released" set numbers for these Lego guys. The only confirmed with a name are, Boba Fett and Darth Vader (not sure if he's a reissue or something new). But this would lead me to believe we'll see some classic characters along with new movie characters.

And AWESOME pics! thanks for sharing.
Give lil Luke a squeeze from me, will ya? :x

The Clone Wars was literally my childhood. I've always loved the Clones, and having a series where some of the episodes (like Rookies and the Umbara storyline) were focused on them was amazing.

It was pretty good, thought I haven't watched it in a while. My favorite parts were the Arc troopers infiltrating the city and Fordo going ham on the droids during the Coruscant invasion.

We'll see. Every time I think, hmmmmmm maybe I could pack up my Legions shelf, or maybe I could pack up my Beast Wars shelf, I'm like... BUT I LOVE THOSE TOYS!!!!

One thing is for sure. I'm packing up my little RID shelf to make a spot for these Lego dudes.

Yes and no; there are some plates back there, but they aren't actually Cody's. I used some extra plates that I had from an old Hero Factory figure (makes me glad that I bought so many of those things when I was a kid). I'd put some on his thighs too, but there weren't any that fit and I didn't have enough extra white pieces to do it.

It definitely sounds like you'll be doin Disneyland right, brother. You'll have to tell me how the three days go, and take pics of your haul(s)!

The last SW toys I got were two SW The Force Awakens Lightsabers from the retail Disney store at a nearby mall -- blue & red! The kids loved 'em almost as much as I did. ;)

Rex and Cody were awesome. Made me care about the dudes in white (or mostly white).

i have the Grevious version of the lego guys. He is so sick! He is combiner sized, and the build style totally suits him. and you can combine and uncombine his arms for 2 or 4 armed looks. And rip off hands when they are amputed by Kenobi (my favorite character from clone wars and TV shows BTW).

Maul was my favorite Sith. He is so damn cool.

I got the Disneyland blues

Well, the Tron family has returned.

Disneyland was an absolute BLAST! It really is the happiest place on Earth.
The Tronettes both had their birthdays at the Magic Kingdom, and they will be birthdays they'll never forget. I was a great time for the whole family and we enjoyed spending it with my entire side of the family. The Trons. Gramatron, Uncletron, and all us usual Trons.

While the Tronetts were getting their fill of fantasy and princess power, Uncletron and I were happy to get our Star Wars fix.

The trip was all about the little ones and making special fun and magic just for them, but I did pull down a fun but modest haul of goodies and mementos.

Image
Hit the Droid Factory buffet hard. My older Tronette built the Fiesta-D2 and I built R2-Chimeny Sweep. The Protocol droids are new to the menu, and man are they awesome! They are articulated like crazy. Knees and elbows. Wrist and foot swivel. Color me impressed. The phone cover is from a custom print shop in Downtown Disney. The sword is so I can adventure along side my littlest Tronette who picked out a princess sword and shield.
And in the spirit of Transformers I had to collect a pile of Energon Cubes. Which come in tropical drinks. Which makes them fun and easy to collect! 8-}

A closer look at the phone case.
Image
The graphics are by an artist called Shag.

And waiting on my door step when I got home.
Image

And now to try to settle in and re-adjust to reality. [-(
Got a lot of threads to catch up on, and hopefully hit the streets to hunt down TR Deluxe wave 5.

Man, I stopped receiving notification back on 8/22. Holy catz there has been a lot of stuff. I just came for the new DL haul dump, but so much SW stuff. I don't know where to start or even stop. Lots of cool displays in the 'Tron for sure. Some neat SW dioramas I don't think I've ever seen. SW is not my primary jam. I enjoy the universe and lore, but I barely scratch the surface in my consumption. I do get a random SW toy from time to time.

I did want to point this out and agree with Burn.

Burn wrote:I think it's time Cobes got some Metal Earth stuff.
Not sure why the twisted grin, those sets are very fun, satisfying and just look plan awesome when you finish. So I'll just drop this here and also advocate for the ME sets.

It's just a random slice of random SW stuff I have, but mostly it was about the mini lego set. I still have the Millennium Falcon set to put together.

I do have the serious wants for that big K-2So build-able figure. Another day and another dollar :BANG_HEAD:

YO! I just noticed your sweet new sig swish! ;)^

They had some nice ME kits at the gift shop at DL, but they were all space ships fro SW. I would have jumped if they had an R2 unit. Especially if they scale with th 3.75 universe.

Glad your back onboard the Tron train Curly!

Thanks and it feels good to be back. Swishy swishy ;)^

They have some pretty intense sets now. And that R2 set can still be nabbed from amazon for around $12. And some even colored probably not legit ones from aliexpress.
