Because I've seen other people sharing their frustrations at putting those sets together.

The final product may look great, but the journey there seems to be hell.
I've read of people cutting themselves or breaking the parts. They do require patience, the ability to follow instructions, a little intuition, being comfortable with working with tools and having some experience with model kits wouldn't hurt. So yeah I get where people might be turned off by these types of things.

I enjoy them and sprue kits in general. I still haven't finished my gundam kit though, but that's more of a time vs work space issue there. I like the entire process, it stills my mind.

Don't feel too bad. I still have the Millennium Falcon and the ship from Mass Effect to start. I have a half finished gundam kit and I just picked up a still boxed sprue kit on clearance.

Happy to hear that the Happiest Place on Earth delivered on the good times, Cobee!

We're considering meeting up with my older sis and her kids, and going to Disneyland this Thanksgiving -- we shall see, but hearing about your great time with the Tronettes makes me want to experience it all with my own mini-Cons. :)

I've been tempted by those Metal Earth sets....the only experience I have with models were those no-glue-required Gundams. I may even have one for Neon Genesis Evangelion (model 03) in my attic somewhere, waiting to be assembled. :p

I haven't officially named them and stickered there blister cards, but for now they are Fieasta-D2 and R5-chimney sweep. :-P

How about R2-SA? Get it? esay?

R5-BRT? As in Burt the chimney sweep from Mary Poppins?

Loved GotG2 -- I didn't think it could be more fun than the first movie!

I really wanna see Alien Covenant but reviews have been mixed....has everyone seen that already?

I didn't mind it. But then, I'm one of those "mindless morons" that goes to a movie and doesn't over think things.

I pretty much enjoy all movies, Burn -- some blockbusters can be a bit tedious, but I have no expectations with Covenant.

Now Blade Runner 2049, I do have certain hopes/fears....well, just one: don't suck!

I'm behind on movies, for the most part -- I only saw GotG2 two weeks ago! And have yet to see TLK.... or any of the Bayverse movies after RotF.

The best things about them are the toys, it brought TFs back into pop culture, and Cullen & Welker are getting paid. :michaelbay:

Ohhhh body. Watch Covenant. I have mixed feelings, but it certainly isn't bad. In order to bridge the gap between it and Promethius, you really need the Bluray special features. Whatever you're lost on, I can help ya ;)

I watched Covenant on a plane and really didn't like it. I feel it kinda cheapens the Alien experience. Outside of that, I just don't think it was a good movie. But then again I really really really didn't like GOTG2 at all. I did really like the first one.

I did watch most of Mad Max Fury Road on the same plane and really enjoyed what I saw. Still got about 30 minutes to go. Waiting on a free service to have the movie so I can finish it up. I have the new game on PS4 that I'm borrowing, need to fire that up and get my Burn fantasies on

I'm not feeling good about the new Blade Runner. I just re-watched the Directors Cut and I feel the movie should end with no concrete answers. It is supposed to leave you wondering. Having a direct sequel answers those questions and to sound like a broken record, cheapens the experience. I'll watch it, but with some seriously jaded eyes.

Any one ever play the Blade Runner game on PC released in '97? That was a fun point and click adventure. I takes place in parallel to the movie.

No love for GotG2, Cary? It's true that it was a more flashy and fluffy than the first, but I still really liked the characters. The OST was also enjoyable! I'll admit I had no expectations here, though...same with Covenant.

Of course, as much as I've enjoyed the xenomorphs themselves, there hasn't really been a good movie since "Aliens", imho -- and I can imagine that fans of the original may have hated the sequel, being a lot more action-packed than survival-horror.

I want to watch Blade Runner 2049, and I don't at the same time. I adore the first movie and at first was not happy they were making a sequel...but I'm afraid I MUST see it now!

I loved point-n-click back in the day, but totally missed out on dat PC Blade Runner! I did play Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis though. In '97, I may have been retroplaying Final Fantasy 3 on SNES. ;)

What didn't you like about GOTG2, Cary? I for one loved it, and I didn't even go into it that excited for the movie. You aren't the only one I've heard say they didn't like it so I'm just curious as to why.

Baby GROOT, way too much baby Groot. It was like Baby Groot the Starlord origin story staring baby Groot: Drax is super oblivious edition. I came into to see some team shenanigans and they immediately split them up, beat me over the head with family themes, then Pac-Man happened. Mary Poppins Y'all and the soundtrack were the only thing I liked. It just seemed like it was trying too hard and forced. Overall I felt like it was a cheap cash grab trying to cast the widest net as possible to put the lightning of the first movie back in the bottle.

I would like to give it one more chance though.

Ok I can see where you're coming from. I agree that Drax shouldn't have been played for laughs like he was. However, I really enjoyed the family themes they went with for the film. It didn't feel to me like they were cashing in on the first one either. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Sorry if I came off as super negative. I don't want to detract from anyone else's experience just because I didn't like something. It is hard to explain why you don't like a thing without being negative though. I'm seem to be in the vast minority and I'm ok with that. I know I set my expectations way to high. I'm also not a fan of sequels, prequels or origin stories. As someone who primarily identifies as a gamer; I'm super picky about non interactive media/entertainment. I have fringe hipster taste as well. For example: one of my favorite movies of all time is Omega Doom. I just love bad sci fi, especially if Ruger Hauer is in it. Don't really explain why or how, just drop me in and let me consume the awesome!

Yeah I own it on DVD

No one's streaming it so I may have to go old school!

I've seen some messed up Japanese horror, so I'm no innocent -- and I love cult flix, Cary!

I am disappoint i has not seen dis tbqh -- I think my bff did mention this last week when we were brainstorming Rutger's movies....with Roy Batty being his magnum opus.

Also, why are all MISB Diaclone bots and Japan-onry TFs always around $1K?!

Bill Paxton FTW!

I haven't seen Blade Runner since I was like, 14. I really need to watch it again. I was just relieved to know this new one was a sequel, and not a reboot.

GotG2-D2? The only thing that bugs the hell out of me is BabyGroot's terrible out of rhythm dancing in the opening. The rest is great. I like the story and the jokes.

What the **** is Omega Doom?!?!?
Never heard of it. Looks terrib..........ly AWESOME!

There is hope for me though friends.

I found Windbag!

I'm loosing the wind in my sails for Fanblade. But she is a nice figure.
This is a nice head sculpt for her, and I'm probably the only one who likes her swords and that when combined they form a TM manned energy blade-beam emitter cannon.

I'd totally come and crash yer pad, Cary! But since that ain't happening soon, I'll settle for this youtube version. ;)

COBO!! SWEET-A hauls, brotha! Especially dat Grotesque-- but I bet you also got some sweet SW deals. I still occasionally stop by Ross Dress 4 Less in hopes something I want appears....

Bill Paxton totally FTMW! And yer right, Cobro -- if Blade Runner 2049 had been a reboot, I would have completely hated the idea. Like Cary said, having answers may diminish the mysteries the first movie left us with decades ago...but seriously, I'm happy it's not a redux.

Next thing ya know they'll try to remake "Heathers" or sumthin...

Them SW figures are oddly compelling, like I'm drawn to play with them. Speaking of on the cheap and this is a very YMMV, I spotted a shirt ton of SW figures at five below yesterday. They even had the Cap Phasma and Storm Trooper two pack.

So for anyone looking for the cheap entrance to that rabbit hole, there's a good place to start.

It's not the figures that compel you, it's the Force. Feel it flowing through you. :HALUC:

Guys, Grotusque is all the bags of chips AND a bag of chips!
He has such a nice premium feel to him. The bro and I had him as kids, and I never quite got him. But now that I'm old and more excepting of the strange and wonderful, the unexplainable, I really love this update throw back to one of the weirdest bits of TF design. The nostalgia for this fig is strong.
