Sideswipe can't grasp the "robots in disguise" mindset.

Let it be known henceforth that "D-Maximus Prime" has thusly called "dibs" on my MP Lambor.

Hey man, you keep him as long as you like! Keep enjoying him! Some of the best things are the things you wait a long time to get!

I will. In fact, I just found ANOTHER piece of the transformation I was skipping!!! What the heck?!
carytheone wrote:Well you know what I say; sometimes the wants are better than the haves
Truth! I have the haves, and now my want is to get rid of the have!!

So, what's the difference between the transformation of these two bots? Slightly different pose as they were taken 5 months apart.
It's hard to notice. I never noticed until today. Just like 5 months ago I noticed something else I wasn't doing right with this guy!!

The bit on the leg around the knee. Also did you get the hood tabbed all the way into the waist?

It is the feel that I am having!! But then I almost parted with a super fun figure that I'm apparently still figuring things out with!!

DING DING DING!!

The hood to abs has actually never been a problem. I also think I added some floor polish to that when I was cleaning up his hands
Speaking of hands, I need to put those dang KFC ones back on here as at least they hold his gun without it flopping around and falling out!!

Sideswipe looks amazing. I've had three of him in my lifetime -- all were the G1 original though. If not the MP, I wouldn't mind seeing a PotP incarnation of him....I only ask that he be "G1 with articulation"! ;p

isn't that basically what the MP line is?
In the case of Ironhide and Ratchet, you also get heads.
But in all seriousness, some of the CW and TR figures have been delivering on just that. I'd imagine we'll see a bit more of that sweet "Neo G1" aesthetic with PotP as well.
I'm just really happy to get a new set of matching Dinobots even if I don't care for the combining gimmick or that nightmare of a combiner they make. I'll buy them and I'll combine them (at least once). I really wanted a full set of WfC/FoC Dinos and Insecticons, but what can you do?

And y'know, there was a lot of complaining about the G1 fellas all of a sudden being Combiners. I don't get it. Just... don't combine them
So many of them were fantastic regardless of their combining gimmick. It's a lot like.. well, the entire Energon line. Lots of great figures, but do you think I Powerlinx'd them each more than once? Nope!
And my only complaint about the Dino's is their size. Otherwise they look spot freakin on.

I'm OK with non combiners being combiners or non headmasters being headmasters, my only complaint is shoehorning in gimmicks that take from the main gimmick, transforming robits.
I absolutely love the headmaster play style though, so give me all the lil guys you can.
I'm digging the new dinos but I feel they could be cooler if they didn't have to be able to be both an arm and a leg. I'm happy with them being just a robot and just a dino. The whole jack of all trades master of none argument. And that leads to your complaint, because of the way they do combine they are not all the same size. I agree, give me all voyagers and pull a Devy if they really must combine.
At first blush I thought their combined mode looked super cool, but then when I saw them gingerly moving that floppy mess around I lost faith. I also LOL'd pretty hard at the thought of how much that was pissing off the G1 purist

heh, MPs are what all TFs should be! Or I just wish I had ALL THE MASTERPIECES.
But being on the pricey side, that's not as doable -- and at that price-point, I can't share 'em with anyone under 13.
I really want MP Ratchet...some day. I really enjoyed the CW G1ers we got; Prowl was one of my faves. Hound, not as much. Ironhide looked like a ypunger, sleeker version but retained the grump.
I will probably end up getting the combiner Dinobots, but they're not at the top of my PotP list.

Hey, Prowl was one of my favs as well and I have like 28 version of that mold between two lines
I'm not just saying that because I'm a Prowl fan girl either... I swear

Lots of great stuff here kids.
What's really crazy, and I mean really crazy, is that I think I'm going the way of Ironhidensh. He just posted in his thread yesterday I believe about not collecting mainline stuff and sticking with MP. I also think one of you mentioned recently just buying one version of a mold and sticking to that, which is what I also need to do!
Also humorous, Ironhidensh wants Starscream and Optimus, where I'd like Starscream and Rodimus. Probably Starscream and Galvatron though.
I'll never figure what I want to do out

I've been trying to convince myself to only do MP/3P stuff for years and leave those retail figures alone. But that dirty street score is just too tempting.
I think I've mentioned doing just one figure per character and swapping them out as I see fit (read upgrade to my current ideal version). Of course I say that and now I have several small character shrines setup (OP, Megs, Soundwave and Cassette-bots, Seekers).

I hear that -- I also try to stick to my one "definitive" version of a character. In some cases, CHUGs will do me just fine.
That said, I own quite a few of Megatron, and his MP is coming home next year! >_<

I've wanted to try to stick to 1 main version of a character as well, but that hasn't gone so well. For one thing, I don't really want to let go of a figure I have, just not at that point yet. For another, they redo characters with different alt modes or abilities, and I see them as different then the same. I also try to only double up on bots that I really like, or if they do do a much better job with a new toy, like me getting multiple Knight Megatrons and movie Bee, respectively.
A good example would be Optimus: I got his CW self, but I got the cool looking battle core one that stands as a 5 bot combiner, I got Ginrai/Prime, but he is combined with Godbomber, and is thus different, G2 Laser Prime is unique all his own since he is a different generation and will go great with Legends G2 Megs, and then PotP Prime will be the evolver, so to speak, so 4 different Primes that I have no issue having all 4 since all 4 do different things, and I still don't really have that 1 Prime that is just his truck to robot with no gimmicks added.
