I will totally need to tell you this story of this one time I rode a giant black bear. it's like bull riding, but with teeth instead of horns. Oh and I had an orange cowboy hat on and an axe. and it was snowing

You see, I tried to ignore any gutter thoughts that came with reading Cary's original comment.
My original comment was completely innocent :saint: and I still don't see what's the fuss :-?

@COBO  same actor, coincidence? :-?

I must say I'm honored that my thread was used for your shenanigans. I feel like it's almost a Collection Thread rite of passage at this point.

Happy Star Wars Day! Due to the occasion these pictures of Star Wars figures won't feel out of place in a TF collection thread! :-P

The weekend after Easter we ended up going to a mall that had a Disney store. I heard that the Elite 11" figures were pretty good so it thought maybe I'll pick one up. Well they were on sale for $20 instead of $35, so I bought two. I don't know what kind of magic Disney uses to sell these at the same price as a 6" Hasbro Black Series but I think they should give some of it to Hasbro.
Image
Man these are fantastic. The cloth clothing is done really well and the articulation is still pretty usable. They have such presence, especially Vader. And Krennic blows the Black Series out of the water. If you don't usually get Star Wars toys I highly recommend these two, at least, they're pretty cheap and worth all of it and they can kind of work as one offs. Only thing is they are rather large.Image

I do actually have some Transformers stuff planned for the weekend. It may be slightly similar to Cobotron's latest update. :-$

So you're gonna dig out a bunch of old Movie junk this weekend? :-P

Yup.

I've just realized this is the second Vader to get focus in here. Probably won't be the last either, Hasbro's 40th Vader looks pretty good. 8-}

So movie toys! In general I like them, of course there are some stinkers and quite a few meh figures. But I do like most of the designs, except for a few of the RotF ones. The ones in these pictures are basically the only ones in my collection I really enjoy and cared enough to actually photograph. All of the others are probably bound to be sold at some point. I know it may seem like I don't enjoy Movie toys but believe me I do, especially these ones. Some of them are among the best Transformers figures I own.
Image
I love AOE Hound and Evasion Prime. Sideswipe is pretty cool and one of my favorite Movie designs, but the toy could be better. That is the original Bee and the only one I've ever bought. He still holds up pretty well to, unlike some of the other Movie 1 toys. Even as a kid I didn't buy Hasbro's "sell all the Bumblebees" scheme. Suck it Hasbro! :-P
Image

Image
These Decepticons are just really neat in general. Megatron's deco is gorgeous and Starscream is the better voyager dorito, no matter what Kanrabat says.
Image
Now, for the AOE dinobots the only one I really like is Scorn but as I type this I've realized that I only ended up with the movie ones so I suppose I should keep the set. Did I say Scorn is really good? He is.
Image

Now for the offscreen guys.
Image
These Autobots are just badarse, plain and simple. Cobotron was talking about how the 2007 line was a turning point for the design team, coming off of Cybertron. And I got to say Gears and Longarm really feel like Cybertron toys. This group really needs a Breacher.
Image
Image
The Decepticons also are a badarse team. Space Case, Lockdown, and Sunspot are so good.
Image
And I forgot to put this guy in with the Autobots. Got him at the park a few years ago, good ride btw. But not a good price, I think it was something like $26. Ouch. And he's okay...I don't really care for the base mold (I don't like Roadbuster much at all) but he's a cool souvenir.
Image
Image

And let's not forget about the Movie Figure of all Movie Figures. I can't say much about RotF Prime that hasn't already been said but he is so impressive. Wonderful engineering, except for the arm area, and fantastic screen accurate modes.

Oh I also have TLK Barricade now. He's a solid fun figure. More to come with him later.
The
Holy crap that was exhausting.

I missed out by skipping out on movie toys that weren't characters in the films up until DotM maybe? There are some really nice ones in there for sure, Gears and Longarm among them!

Niiiice. I mean, all the shots are nice, that one and the miscellaneous crew are my favourites.

Great post! Nice look into the Movie toys you like and why.

It's funny that most my favorite movie figs are the non-film characters. There is a reason there, and I'm sure it has everything to do with design. Maybe because they were designed solely to be toys?

This is a great pile! Most of those are are on my list and on diplay. The boat dude went to live with WillyJ many moons ago, and I just sent Brawn of to live with Cram. I have the Hoist repaint of Longrarm, and honestly I still prefer him as Hoist in my Classics collection over the Gen version. I love Gears' power punching arms! :BLACKEYE:

Good stuff! Fun stuff! ;)^

A lot of the offscreen characters are what make the first two lines way better than the other 3(granted we haven't seen all of TLK stuff) in my opinion. A lot of them are worth putting on a "to buy" list for a rainy day.

And another thing for why they are really good is because they don't have to look like a design that was not meant to actually exist. They can be judged just on their merits as toys.

My mascot makes his debut with my new read! Unfortunately the only books I've been reading lately are the new canon Star Wars novels. They're all great, and Thrawn is no exception, but I'd like to get around to reading more original works at some point. But I love Star Wars and I love to read so...

Did I ever say I loved Striker Manus and Rioter Despotron? I do. :-D Yeah I'm not really bothered at all by 3rd party purchases. The first thing I got, PE's guns for CW Devastator, I felt a little dirty after but I had no guilty thoughts after these two. And now I have two more 3rd party figures on the way.

BigBadToystore has a bunch of TFC figures on clearance for 50%-60% off due in July. I'm really tempted by their Liokaiser components, I may have to get their Leozack. Their Ironhide looks cool too...

Anyway, awesome pics! Glad to see you enjoy those two. Now, who are the two on the way...?
