Heck yeah they did!

You see I have a problem with getting multiple versions of one character in CHUG, or an collection for that matter, unless it's meant to replace the previous figure. Just a collecting habit I have so that's what's keeping me from getting Thunder Manus. I have a while to decide anyway, the mold is towards the bottom of my third party priority list.

JETFIRE'S A QUINJET OH MY GOOOOOOD

...welp, guess I'm getting every mold of Cross Dimension going forward.

And ah, I see. I don't really have a 'one toy per character' rule myself, I just buy what looks cool (and what I can afford).

Oh, did you see their Cybertron Starscream?

I know, Jetfire looks great! I wouldn't be surprised if he's next after Thunder Manus. I don't think wonder why Maketoys hasn't shown the seekers yet. :-? Maybe the don't want to cause Seeker overload.

I never really set out to collect like that but it's sorta became that. It does help with budgeting though. But there's always those exceptions where I buy stuff just because it looks cool.

I have and it looks pretty fantastic but I probably won't get it. I'd love to but it doesn't fit in anywhere (yet at least, since Optimus, Thundercracker, Skywarp, and Megatron are coming) and it's expensive. So it could evolve into a rabbit hole just like Cross Dimension, just more painful on the wallet.

Damn you Iron Factory...

I feel like next year might be the year where I at least attempt to collect more 3rd party stuffs. PotP isn’t really hitting the spot at all right now for me. On the other hand, I still keep taking Striker Manus, Rioter Despotron, and Kultur off the shelf to mess with and they continue to impress me every time. I can’t help but want more stuff of that quality. I guess I’ve drank the 3P Kool-aid. :/

Of course I say that now and I’ll probably end up impulse buying Swoop, Slag, and others next year.

I saw that spirits of the DEC set on Twitter Saturday I think. Got all excited, was ready to pre=order yesterday... and the whole set is over $200 right at the time Grand Max and Greatshot are coming out.

Nope. Can't do it.

On a different note though, I am tempted by the Iron Factory Shadow Commander. I have a very large weak spot for SG, and that thing looks good, and Iron Factory sounds like a great line...

and then Shajaki showed me I may need to make a purchase from the club store

Yeah it’s a steep price but I think I’m in for the entire set. It’ll keep me from wanting the MMC ones at least. Hopefully. I’ll get Tarn on release but the others will probably wait till Christmas/birthday. If that’s when Greatshot and Grand come out I doubt you getting these too would be a good financial decision.

I had a feeling that one would tempt you. Well their Nova Prime is based off the same mold, so after he releases I’ll report back. ;)^

Hope everyone has had a great Christmas and that you continue to have a a good time during the holiday season!

And yes I’m still alive, despite my lack of posting on the boards. School has kept me busy and I’ve always been lazy when it comes to making posts. How about a combined Christmas haul? Yes? No? No TFs this year but the transforming robot toys I did get are very nice indeed.

And just to be clear, these all came from multiple people.

I have himhawed over that Megatron for so long, yet I just can't bring myself to buy him. Looks nice though!

Yeah I feel yah. I love him and the design makes for a gorgeous figure but the transformation isn’t too interesting and the altmodes are a little dull. I’d say if you really like Autobot Megatron and love Milne’s design go for it but he is pricey.

It’s been a bit quiet here, but that’s all on me. So how ‘bout we liven things up with a game of what’s in the box?
Image
A few hints:
The shipping box is much bigger than it needed to be.
It is one figure.
It’s third party.
This is my third figure from this company so it’s either Maketoys of Mastermind Creations.
And it shipped free so it’s over $150.

Good luck!

What do you already have from MT and MMC?

EDIT: Nevermind, I forgot to look up. Um...Carnifex? Utopia? Pandinus?

You’re first guess was correct, Pandinus and Utopia are way out of my price range. ;)

WOOOHOOO! Congrats! Thoughts so far, or is he not cracked open fully yet?

Oh, and planning on adding in the upgrade kit too?

Oh I’ve been messing with him all night and I’ve went through one transformation. Thoughts are very very positive. The robot mode is just as glorious as I’d hoped it would be. The altmodes are pretty good and the super jet is surprisingly cool looking. I’ve probably hyped Carn up a lot in my head and I can definitely say I wasn’t disappointed.
The only egregiously bad part are those shoulders. The transformation with them into jet mode was super frustrating. In robot mode they’re fairly easy to work around though. What was your experience with them?

I don’t plan on getting the upgrade mainly because I only know Overlord from the comics. And the comics didn’t have small chest men.

The shoulder pads are very annoying during transformation, but I got used to it after a few times. Other than that, it's just nitpicking. I love the claw shield on his arm, but I still wish they had used a slightly different way to attach it to his shoulder. The thumbs are kinda weird too, and the fingers could have been balljointed for a bit more expressiveness. Overall though, he's one of the best 3P figures I own, and I cannot wait to have Thunder Manus to go with him (especially now that I'm watching Masterforce)!

I imagine the shoulders will get easier but for now they are a bit of a pain. Yeah I agree with those nitpicks but they are so minor. Masterforce, you say? A while back I was thinking about watching the Japanese series but now I’m not that interested. I don’t think I could do subtitles anyway.

I can understand that. But, if you change your mind, here's the playlist for free on the YouTubes:

Love the pics, SureShot! And I can't love Carnifex enough.

I ultimately went with TR Overlord due to price, but there's no contest on looks. ;)

Thanks! Yeah if there’s one major downside to Carn, it’s the price. I think it actually makes him the single most expensive figure I own. 8-}

I believe it! But Carn looks PERFECT. ;)

I had to think for a moment about the most I spent....then I remembered MP Megatron's coming! He will probably keep that crown, as I can't imagine any other bot I'd pay that much for. >_<

Except that Unicron lamp! I still want one!
