Collection is altogether now!

I decided to get back on here, because I missed seeing all the collections. While I am still in the Army, not for long, I have somehow built what I call a “PCS Collection”, meaning temporary collection until i get home to my actual full on collection that has been in storage for five years or so.. While that isn’t that long, what is not pictured is about 100 other Transfoirmers that I have purchased between my duty stations of Texas, Hawaii and now Virginia. Which I would like to say is my last as I will retire in 2020 at 31 years in the Army. Back to my collection, with the help from my wife, and yes I said wife, we have a room in our house dedicated for my collection once i get it set up. Can’t wait for that to become reality but for now, I am enjoying what I can find and add to what is already waiting back at home (Missouri). Of note, my favorite one that I have brought with me for the last few duty stations, is my 1987 Overlord. Of the two pictures, one is from work, cant have enough Transformers displayed at work, lol. Anyways, glad to be back on here!

As I stated in my previous post “PCS Collection”. Being back on here, didn’t realize my old post where still on here, under similar name.. From that I had provided a link to my photobucket “which shows my age, lol” but no longer use, so thought i would just share some random photos of my collection before i put them up between my moves. Some are not clear but hopefully you will enjoy.

I will say I apologize for not showing more in depth photos. I have to transfer some pictures over but I do have close ups, especially for my G1 guys. I will note, that from the previous post, the G1 Command base with thiose particular bots and cons, That is my original childhood collection. While this was the last time i had my collection set up, it was organized by years. For now I have a few close ups! So, more photos to follow, thank you for looking!

So feeling a little nostalgic, after seeing other people’s collection, makes me miss mine even more. Here is some random photos of my collection at different times before they went into storage. Some are from Germany where i truly decided to start at. Have to thank my wife for introducing me to eBay back then, lol. I guess it started after seeing the 07 movie. I know people don’t care for the bayverse style but if it wasn’t for me looking for a couple of ones from that movie, I wouldn’t have started back with the G1 bots and cons. Anyways, retirement cant come soon enough. It is enjoyable to see other collections and truly appreacite what you may have no matter the size of your particular collection. Enjoy! I have more coming, thank you for looking!

Still really cool. I have the little Kabaya version, and I am looking forward to the Takara one that we saw a prototype of back in February!

No doubt there. I remember when I bought him when i was stationed in Germany. Whether a reissue or original he is cool.
In regards to the new one, definitely cannot wait to see color photos of it.

Stationed in Germany, ex-military? Are you in the US?

agreed, I'm hoping they retooled the cab to be a long nose truck, though I doubt it happened

I’m still in the Army actually, but stationed now in Virginia. I’m the one keeping the “Virginia Sightings” poppin, lol.
I was in Germany from 2005 -2011, then came back to the US, Kansas (2012-2015), Texas (2015-2016), then Hawaii (2016-2018). I’m on my last assignment, my last official month in the Army May 2020, which will give me 31 years.

Holy crap man, that's impressive. What branch of service are you in?

Virginia huh? Been down there a lot, not too far a drive from PA either.

So where do you intend to settle down once those 31 years of service are complete?

US Army, and yes hard to believe that I have been in that long. June is actually the month i joined the Army, so for this June, it is a big moment, I turn 48, wedding anniversary (8yrs) and celebrating hitting the 30 year mark.
When i was in Kansas we bought a house in Missouri, thats where i am from, the wife is from Arkansas. At that time I thought i was going to be retiring from the Army with 26 or so years, before I was picked up for my next rank. So to be close to our families we bought a house there. The location is between Springfield and Branson.
The great thing about my wife, she so supports my passion for Transformers, that when we where looking at houses, it had to have a spare room for them. So once I’m retired and I will be setting up that Transformer room. Biggest part is cases to display them in. But I’m anxious to get them all back out and displayed.

Awesome, it sounds like a great place, and your wife sounds like a true champion!

Here's hoping the rest of your duty goes well, and that your retirement will be well earned!

She definitely is, even though she gives me crap sometimes which sometimes she is right, I have to pause or stop at some point, wont have room for them all but well see. The best thing is when she would be out and she would send me pics asking if I had this, priceless for sure.
Appreciate the words D, thank you very much.

This is in reference to my G1 Overlord. First, if you come across a G1 Transformer that may not be complete but you are good with piecing it together, than can get costly or take time. Back to Overlord, I think I bought him like four years ago maybe. Since then I have been piecing him back together. In addition, had to put some new stickers on him and replace his upper body (jet part).. Where Mega and Giga go, the little tabs were broke off so i got lucky finding a good replacement body. While some may ask, why so long, hard to really explain. I can say because I’m in the Army and have moved three times since I bought him. Nevertheless, I finally found the tank barrel for a reasonable price ($35). Now why that seems high, another seller in Greece I think had this piece listed for $66 and that didn’t include shipping. I have shown a lot of patience’s with this. I still need one more part (radar) and have that one on my watch list on my EBay. Fingers crossed i will be able to purchase that one toward the end of the month.
Overall, he will be 99% complete, still missing one missile out of the three, I will eventually buy that one to make him 100%.
Anyways, thank you for looking,

Holy crap.

I would be happy with a mostly complete Overlord, but dang you are so close to having a complete one!

Thanks D, trust me I was just happy finding him at a decent price. The mission to make him complete came on alittle later but it has been fun somewhat.. I did the same with my Fort Max but that one was alittle more pricey to complete.

Just sharing a couple of photos of my collection I have here with me in Virginia that is being packed up for my last move for the Army. So here in a month, I can say my entire collection will be in one location, finally.
Fun part will be setting it all up! Can’t wait!

So while my collection is actually in one location, it is still packed up. While being home for Christmas leave, I moved most of it in a closet of the room that will eventually have it all displayed. There are still four large tubs not pictured that have transformers inside.
Surprisingly enough, always cool to dig through and find transformers I had forgot I had. But the main part, it definitely makes you appreciate what you have.
