coolpop wrote:Thanks so much for sharing David, your collection is just so overwhelming. Browsing your MISB collection is like dreaming a dream, walking into a toy store full of Transformer toys, no empty shelves with pegs, no price tags, no competition shoppers.

I like your TF room's red/purple paint scheme, really brings out the spirits. What I liked the most was your shelving systems were so simply (I see those white wire shelves are fully adjustable in height), yet highly effective with no space wasted.

I'm glad you have a good number of toys loosen out for play/display, especially those Alternators. Gosh seeing your collection makes me wanna go MISB too. Again thanks for sharing your collection & I'm looking forward to seeing more.

Cheers!

I really Appreciate it!!!

Yeah I went with Autobot Red & Decepticon Purple on the walls. I tried to match them as close as possible to the G1 box colors. The reason the other walls are blue is because it used to have hotwheels on those walls. I then turned another bedroom into the Hotwheels room and made alot more room for more Transformers.....which I'm out of room again

I did. $120 for my least favorite Alt based on a very minor character was no problem for me.

that's pretty impressive but do you ever get sick of just looking at the boxes? don't you just want to open them all up sometimes?

I would like to play with some of them but I still get just as much enjoyment keeping the sealed. If I get an itchy trigger finger, so to speak, I will jut buy another one and open it ;;)

Amazing collection. You can really tell how important they are to you by the care you put into the display. I'm very impressed. Keep up the good work and don't be shy about sharing it with all of us.

That's a really cool collection. I open almost everything, but when I looked at yours all arranged nicely in package I can appreciate that as well.

So, what's the overall head count at? I could probably go through the pictures and count, but I've probably got better things to do tonight... well, actually, I don't, but I'm not going to count them anyway. :)

It seems to me that all of your TFs packaging is as close to perfect as it can possibly get. I'm guessing that is one of your requirements upon purchase?

My question is, have you ever passed up on a desperately needed toy because the packaging was not up to par? I just can't picture a badly dented misb in your collection.

As a matter of fact I WILL pass up a wanted toy if the packaging is not in good condition....unless I want one to open

My parents tell me I should take Insurance out on them. Just in case of fire or stolen or something. It's probably a good idea but I would definitely feel silly taking all my reciepts up to the insurance agent. Plus, no telling how much insurance would cost me :ic$:

;)^ Yes, I have every single receipt

Just curious: what sort of house do you live in? How many rooms and how big? I just started collecting this year with the movie line after 15 years of inactivity, and already I've almost used up a whole room. I didn't even buy the Realgear and Titanium stuff!

Holy Toy Store Batman!

Good to see you have some figures out of their boxes, for a minute there I thought you wouldn't have a single figure to actually Transform.

Yeah, but I agree with your parents; it'd be near impossible to replace. And the amount to replace != what they cost when you bought them, necessarily, because of value...I'm not sure receipts would do you much good; you'd need to get them appraised and insure for replacement value.

I agree with Dorkimus....

You know no matter how much I say that phrase in my head, it just doesn't sound right! I love your screen name though, very funny, and tricky at the same time. ;)^

I would definitely insure them, you could always sit back and start spending your money on having them Graded by the AFA and they will seal them in Plastic cases, and give a value based on that grading, which they will give you authentic paperwork to go with it, and you could take that to your insurance guy for a higher insured value. If a Fire or Theft ever hit, you'd be walking away with a small retirement! Not only that the Plastic cases will protect you bots very well, and AFA makes all kinds to fit any size.

DavidT your collection is wonderful, awhile back I got into the Hobby, and realized quickly that I wanted to have an MISB collection. Today I'm happily at 124 MISB Transformers, still in their beautiful boxes and on display in my room. I bought a couple of those long vertical hook racks, which have my Transformers with the hanging loops hung on them, and then I have a large Doublewide bookcase that houses the remainder of my collection. yours is very impressive and really shows how beautiful MISB really is. I'll post some images of my collection some time.

The most wonderful thing I have ever heard was that if you buy MISB Transformers and are very apt to want to open them, don't go and waste more money on another MISB, just try to find one that is Loose and complete, you'll generally pay much less for it, and still get the same effect. Ofcourse, if you like me, then you'll want another MISB, because you want to take great care not to move it too much to have loose joints! I just like the loose ones to pose on my "opened toys" shelf. MISB looks sooo Much nicer with all the art work, and sells for a much higher price, and values higher in your collection.

Your collection is similar to a store, but to me it's artwork, too bad those Beasties had to be stored, I'm a Beast Wars fanatic!

Nice Job!! ;)^
