Toyworld not-Throttlebots

Anyone have any updates on the not-Throttlebots? I absolutely love the three that have been released so far, but we're at a solid few months of silence, without even a prototype image of the next release.

TFcon and other summer conventions will most likely answer these questions.

I've been wondering whats going on with the BTS Nova Lord toy release.

I hope we get some info on these guys. I can't think of any other Toyworld offerings I'm interested in.

I usually frown on using the word "not" to describe 3rd party figures that are everything a Hasbro TF figure could and should be. But in this case I gotta agree simply because these Throttlebots are NOT coming anytime soon. ;)

Toyworld needs to admit defeat with the Headmasters, stop making Hegemon?Orion repaints and finish Throttler already !

Where's Goldbug. Are they not doing Goldbug? (If that car is Goldbug, then they are not doing a Beetle. That would be disappointing. I was looking forward to their Beetle Goldbug. :-( )

It's a Sixth member combiner team. Goldbug hasn't been revealed yet. Suspect TW Goldbug will be a retooled TW- Bumblebee with combiner stuff added in the sculpt.

I suspect these are the next two that have reached the "showing" stage. I too can't wait for the 6th.

That Wideload looks awesome!

Thanks, Mkall. :D Those two are the ones I'm most interested in. I don't care about the combined form. I've got a Classics Bumblebee with an upgrade kit in case they don't do a Goldbug.

I suspect T05 will be Goldbug/the head. T04 isn't pictured though, maybe that means it'll drop without much warning like some of the other TW figs as of late?

Needless to say though, I'm very much looking forward to finishing the Throttlebots.

Yessir, I believe you are correct about Goldbug, if that is Goldbug.

It looks like the Mini Cooper (TW-T05) matches the left side silhouette and H2 or whatever larger SUV (TW-T06) matches the bottom. We're just missing another crossover type vehicle on the right, which I presume is TW-T04 as you mentioned.

I'm still sad Goldbug isn't going to be a modern VW Beetle. I would have liked that very much... The Cooper could work. I'll have to see it in color.

I'm psyched to see this, and see that it's moving forward!
While I am a HUGE fan of these type of modern cars carrying the spirit of the originals, I'm pretty shocked that they're not using the new VW beetle.

Why are most of the vehicles wrong for these guys. These toys look like their in the Binaltech universe. Wideload needed a dump truck construction vehicle. Searchlight needed to be a sports car with those search lights. Some needed sports cars not sedans. Goldbug needs his VW.
Rollbar is the only one who got a homage vehicle mode.

They all are classics re-imagining with modern vehicle modes. I find them great homages!

I think I can live with that Cooper Goldbug, especially since he'll be in bot mode on my shelf. Nice work, Toyworld. How long?

Im gonna have to agree with T-man on this one. Im not a fan of this barrage of neo vehicles. I really like rollbar because they actually went the G1 route. But they used him to fool us and then went on to neo weirdness. My real issue is that the robot modes arent even reminiscent of the cartoon and have hood chests. When hasbro does a neo alt mode, at least they make the robot mode somewhat cartoon accurate. They didnt even give chase a faceplate. And making them different sizes really turned me off. I really hope the 6th one is a corvette and not another girly import car. Ive already invested in this set, so I will be buying them all. But if they dont even vaguely resemble the throttlebots outside of their colors, im leaning towards just displaying him as Throttler in combined mode. He can be Puzzler on my gobots shelf. United Goldbug with renderform set is definitely a keeper at this point.

I agree with you guys as well.

I don't mind that the vehicles were updated to modern vehicles, but the choices of vehicle confuse me a bit. I think they are also missing some of the necessary design cues that make the throttlebots distinct as characters.

I also thought Rollbar nailed it.
* An updated version of the original vehicle
* Front of car as the feet
* Clever, yet straightforward transform

But the other two just didn't resonate with me.
Searchlight without the rally car headlight bar just blows me away?!?!?!?
I'm sure there is a modern rally car they could have used instead.

Chase(Trace) was better, but again, the transform didn't really scream Throttlebot to me.

With Goldbug, a Mini works as a choice, but they had 2 newer Beetles they could have opted for instead that would have made more sense.

Now, as FIGURES, I think all 3 so far (4 from the looks of Goldbug here) are fantastic. They just loose some points as HOMAGES.

I haven't bought any of these Throttlebots but Goldbug looks like a must have to me , both modes are hitting all the right spots this far(i don't care about homage for these guys) .

However looking again i'm not keen on the back pack / shoulder area ?

Looks great to me. I love that head sculpt. I don't mind Goldbug getting the neo treatment. It further separates the character from being another classic Bumblebee recolor with a new head. That's what I'm after on my classics shelves.

I'm a bit sad they changed Wideload's alt mode, but I'll wait to see colour and robot mode pics. He's really the only one I want.

You and I really need to either stop agreeing with one another, or start buying eachother drinks.

Plus, if that is Goldbug, a mini cooper is a much needed transformer- I've been wishing someone would do that alt-mode- count me in on this one
