I'd have been totally on board if I hadn't already seen the FP designs.

After so long without Dinobots we have potentially four different sets for Classics (these, FP's, Planet X's, and the TFC KOs).

These look pretty cool as well. The deciding factor will probally be the scale. The bigger one wins for me. Although If the FP dino modes are too weird, I might double dip and buy both. The dinobots are important enough to me to justify having a set in both modes on my shelves.

Feedback: get some articulation going on with the dinos knees. Try to make them all large voyager or ultra class to scale well with classics. Dont get too caught up on vintage toy accuracy, shoot for G1 cartoon accuracy.

Wow, lots of Dinobot choices all of a sudden! I am intrigued.

And definitely a Classics take going with a Diplodocus over an Apatosaurus(formerly Brontosaurus. I miss Brontosaurus...)

Interesting. As others have stated, so many companies are suddenly working on Classics Dinobots. Eight years now that Grimlock has been mighty lonely on the shelf, now he may finally get some company.

I don't like the Diplodocus choice. Sludge should always be an Apatosaurus!

I quite agree. I like the proportions and stance of the Brachiosaurus the most, but to be true to Sludge's character, I'd rather see the Apatosaurus.

Still, the little kid dinosaur connoisseur in me liked the Classics move away from the inaccurate Grimlock upright T-Rex look. The Diplodocus can work in my mind.

Choices, choices!

(Plus, I loved seeing the Brachiosaurus in the movie line toys.)

MF labeling their Dinobots as Chug is a hint they will be much smaller than the FP MP 10 inch tall Dinobots.

BBTS listed the FP Dinobots as having 7.5 inch tall robot modes. This is a big scale for CHUG. Mania king is 7.4

Wanting the MF dinobots to be 8 to 8.5 means these toys will be in HasTak's MP Dinobots Grimlock toy scale.

In all your replies here, You said you don't like or buy HasTak MP TF toys. You didn't buy HasTak 8.5 MP Grimlock. So why would you want to buy MF Dinobots that are 8 to 8.5 ?

MF said they were in CHUG scale. So they will be much smaller than the other 10 inch tall 3rd party MP Dinobots and cost less.

If MF labels their 8 to 8.5+ inch Dinobots as Chug then it's incorrect. The correct name should be MP, As they are in scale with HasTak 8.5 MP Grimlock.

X, wants the MF Dinobots bigger than the 7.5 FP Dinobots. Which means he wants the MF versions to be 8 to 8.5. 8.5 according to HasTak is MP Dinobots Grimlock toy scale.

Oh, so ... it's just your math, then?

Saying "CHUG scale" is very problematic because it means different things to different people. There are even two different almighty scale charts - one with HUGE dinos and one with Dinos the size of Prime. And, as far as I can tell, BOTH are supported by the cartoon!

MF listing them as CHUG scale was mostly a hint to buyers. That their Dinobots will be much smaller than the MP FT Dinobots

"CHUG scale" can mean anything from deluxe to ultra. It depends on what they consider CHUG scale to mean. And, with a line as wildly inconsistent with scale as CHUG is and as wild as scale is in G1 it can mean a lot of things. We just know they're going to be smaller than MP Grimmy.

Think all of the MF Dinosaur heads look terrible. If MF wants feedback, Then I'd suggest this is what needs fixing.

I been out drinking, lol. But in my opinion dinobots are just naturally big. I go by G1 cartoon scale. In seasons 1-2 they were MP sized if you used classics autobots as the base scale. By season 3, they were alot smaller in episodes where grimlock wore an apron and created the technobots. So Im fine with 7.5 inches height but would welcome 8.5 inches height. Ive already commited to FP but will consider buying these dinobots too if the price is right and the scale is bigger than FP. If theyre the same height, I will just buy paddles, skar, or whatever obscure dinobots FP doesnt make.

#-o more excuses that don't add up or make a lick of sense.

Your willing to go by cartoon scale and pay 3rd party prices for 8.5 inch tall Dinobots. But you weren't willing to buy Hasbro's USA 8.5 inch tall MP Grimlock for $74?

FoC Voyager Grimlock is 8 inches tall(7.5 to the top of his head), I measured him yesterday when we found out FP Sludge's height. Fits perfectly fine into Classics.

Not loving these, and right now will stick with Planet X and/or FP for my Classics Dinobots.

If they are the only ones that release some of the "non-core" dinobots (AKA Paddles) then I may spring for those single characters.

I like their Swoop and how the arms fold into the body. That is how FanToys should have done it instead of the arms sticking out of the sides. I tired of G1 purists saying that it can't be done or that FanToys is staying true to the G1 toy. The G1 toy sucked and Mecha Form shows how the arms folded in make the toy look much better.
