A combiner of Throttlebots? Hasbro, we got ourselves some characters for Transformers 6 - or 5. The Autobots need combiners for the Transformers live-action series after the Dinobots didn't do anything.

Anyway, the figure looks good. But where would Searchlight be? Is he going to be like Nautilator? Stay on the sidelines as his other comrades fight in battle?

He and Goldbug form the torso and whatnot in the combined form. He's like the black lion in Voltron :).

Ah, edited "Wideload" to "Searchlight." ;) Searchlight is the right leg.

Wow...that does look good. It's a shame it's taking so long for it to be finished, though.

On top of that, since there's been such a time gap between components, how are people supposed to complete this when people have been selling off their personal collection of these?

I surely hope they plan to reissue the first limbs to go with the newer components when they release, otherwise this is going to make a lot of people angry when it's all said and done.

I believe... this will be the first combiner I own that stays separated for the most part. :p

Yup, I'm with you there. Though, the final product does look good. It has the character of looking kind of squat; it would almost be to other combiners like Bumblebee standing next to other Autobots...

Why would people have been selling off their collections of these? They're awesome figures by themselves, at least in my opinion. Besides, we knew pretty much from the start that this thing was going to be a combiner, so anyone who sold off the earlier limbs was probably aware of that and decided to sell them anyway so they're just SOL.

I mean yeah, the combined form looks GREAT. Way better than I thought it was going to. But these are still the not-Throttlebots so I think most (myself included) will probably be keeping them in their individual bot or vehicle modes for the most part, regardless of how cool the combined form is.

Grind Rod sold out pretty much everywhere long ago, so I doubt it would hurt TW to reissue him as he'd probably sell another run. But Aurora's on clearance on BBTS for $35 and Trace is still readily available at retail price.

I know you're being frank, but that's very ungenerous of you. People have all sorts of reasons for selling stuff off. And this project has taken a long time, with the fandom receiving information irregularly at best. It would not have been unreasonable to assume this project would not see completion.

I'm contemplating picking up Aurora. $35 is a really good price for a quality 3rd Party figure. What do you think of him?

TW did a great job on these toys. Doubt better versions will get made. If you love the Throttlebbots characters and original toys, Then these are for you.

Never cared for the 1980's Throttle bots because they all got easily beat up or easily damaged in the 1980's Marvel TF comics and Rebirth cartoon series. The 1987 Throttlebot toys, I thought were inferior even for their time period.

Have no desire to buy 3rd party toys based of the original media and original toys, I disliked.

While the Gestalt mode looks nice. It homages nothing. It's the equivelant of giving the 1985 Dinobots a Gestalt mode.

Very disappointed in the oversized Wideload figure. I was expecting them all to be more or less the same height like another famous combiner with 6 team members. Ill still buy him since Im 3 figures deep and Throttler looks good. But these are not the Throttlebots. They fooled us all by nailing Rollbar spot on and then going wacko with the others. That's why Rollbar sold out and the 2nd and 3rd didn't do as well. Screw Toyworld. Theyre headmasters suck. This was a disappointment in the end. Hegemon was awesome and Orion is solid. That's about it...

True enough, and even with these prototypes, given the time frame so far, it's still possible the rest won't see the light of day, but then again TW hasn't had any cancellations so far that I'm aware of so at worst I think it just may take a long time to get them all, but I do believe they will all see a release eventually.

He's awesome, just like the rest of TW's figures. In fact, the only TW figure I own that I've had any issues at all with as far as the quality goes is Hegemon. Some of the plastics on him feel a bit cheap, but he's still solid. Everything else of TW's that I own (so far everything except Orion, which I skipped) is rock solid. Their not-Throttlebots, Aurora included, are no exceptions. Both modes are fantastic and he has a really clean transformation.

Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed in the oversized Wideload as well, but it makes sense scale-wise given his alt mode, and of course they're making use of his size for the combined mode obviously. Overall I'm happy with the 3 TW not-Throttlebots I've got so far and I love their not-Headmasters, at least the two not-Headmasters I've got in hand (the 3rd sitting in my POL). I was a bit thrown by their modern/different takes on the Throttlebots at first, but then I did some comparisons of their alt modes with the G1 figures and I can kinda see where they got their inspiration. There are enough visual queues there for me to be happy with them and they're really solid figures and great looking bots and vehicles, so they're good enough for me. I think Trace's bot mode is probably the most far off, but he's not that bad and he still has enough blockiness to him and enough similarities to the original to be recognized as who he is for me.

WOW!!!! :ic$:

I'm pretty impressed, this combined mode looks great!

I was considering skipping Goldbug, as I have the Gold Takara Bumblebee with the replacement head, that's a perfect Goldbug for me, but this combined mode makes it worth getting.

I have to agree with X to a point. I do wish the alt modes were more representative of their original forms. Searchlight should have been some form of rally car, and Wideload a dump truck, but whatever, I've gotten used to them, they look great together and no more or less "updated" than Jazz, Wheeljack or Ironhide.

This is a set of figures I expect I will move to my desk so I can change among all 3 forms.
Even if the combined mode is smaller than my TFC combiners, that's OK as the alt modes work perfectly with the deluxe Autobots.

This looks perfect. I really like the look of the team and I've been saying how good they will be since Grindrod came out. Easily still one of my top three favorite "Deluxe" sized third party figures.

A shame they are so hard to get a hold of, I would have loved to have these for the Panel and showcase. Oh well, maybe for Chicago!

Not exactly what I was expecting, but I do like it.

I've got all three figures so far, including 3 of Aurora. At $35 on sale, I was willing to get one to keep in each form (vehicle, robot, combined), though, this honestly is less of a necessity than with some other 3rd party combiners, since they are very solid and I have transformed them many many times without any concern of anything breaking.

I actually like the updated alt modes, so am inclined to keep one set in vehicle mode. I'll have to figure out if I want to track down doubles of any characters on the cheap. I kind of wish I had doubles of FP not-Menasor.

As for not-Wideload's scale, I'm actually very happy with this. I'm a stickler for size accuracy in vehicle mode, not robot mode, and have always been annoyed with the other combiners where the main bot's size made no sense in vehicle mode. In this case, the scale works, so I'm happy.

Now we just need to get more than one a year released...

I love the figures and transformation. Size and car choices...meh...not the best but I'll take it. The combined mode is cool, but it is not why I am buying the figures. In the end, I would have preferred a dumptruck for Wideload and a little sports car for Freeway.

Then, glad I still have no interest in buying this.

Doubt TW will be bold to re-release these toys. as some imports sites had to deep clearance earlier waves just to get them sold.
