Cubex the company gave us Huff , it appears that they were not impressed with there last factory and final product and have changed all that including the company name to BadCube .

BadCube
BadCube 1st RULE: You do not talk about Cubex.
BadCube 2nd RULE: You DO NOT talk about Huff

Yep, saw these earlier over on TFW.
Ive managed to copy a few pics from Kapow Toys Facebook page but as I cant see the ones hotlinked by A-Gen these are more likely duplicates, sorry about that folks! ;)

So going by the pics, this guy looks to be a small Voyager or large Deluxe just like Cubex Huff and XTransbots Krank, so scaling along side a Classics Deluxe/Voyager set up will look pretty good!
I wonder who OTS-01 is..?

Think this look terrible for a Commander or Deluxe scaled toy.

Think it looks like one of those Super Deformed toys. The toy has way to much bulk for a tiny toy of this scale. Some of the body parts are so overly beefy and super deformed they look like like they belong on a Voyager toy.

I've seen better 3rd party and HasTak Brawn toys.

With all the QC issues, I'm not surprised they changed factories.

However, I don't like this figure at all.

Bot mode seems off, alt mode seems off, proportions are weird.

But then, early prototypes for huff look bad too, and he knocked it outta the park IMO.

I'll be watching this one for improvement, but right now, this isn't for me.

Get out of my head! ;) My sentiments mirror these exactly. Sure, there were a few QC issues that I still need to address with Huff, but he was really quite good, overall, and a nice addition to my Classics shelf. (Whoops, sorry brief image flashing of Brad Pitt, I talked about Fight Huff...)

It's not that I don't like him, it's that I don't need him. iGear Brawn suits my needs for the character just fine.

And at a fraction of the price! I do appreciate that Brawny is a bit more stocky, but seeing the first pre-orders up... the pricing AND the idea that it's forcing the customer to go in with both figures. Sorry, no.

I never thought I would EVER hear the phrase "fraction of the price" associated with an iGear offering. One also has to take into account that these will be MP-scaled, so about a tall-deluxe height or so.

Think $90 is a insanely high 3rd price to pay for a commander-Deluxe scale toy. That's 6 times the cost of a Hasbro USA TF Deluxe toy.

What about compared to MPs? I believe it was mentioned that this is the intent...

(Sideswipe, Prowl, Bluestreak, Smokescreen, Wheeljack around $80 at BBTS. BB around $75. :-$ )

Those MP TF Cars-bots have 6.4 inch robot modes. This 3rd party Brawn here is a scale or Two smaller and is selling for $10 to $20 more.

Doubt this OTS-02 Brawny is a tall 6 inch Deluxe robot mode like 2.0 Cyclonus is. Guessing this OTS-02 Brawny is a Tall commander toy or a 5 1/3 inch deluxe robot toy.

You're not getting the point. $10 more for what may be slightly shorter than the ones I mentioned (we don't yet know, do we? Or do we with the comparison pics with Huff and the cars in alt mode? ;) ) and only $15 more than what will likely be comparable in MP BB. That doesn't seem to be "insanely high" when considering 3P prices. I believe your reasoning to be flawed here.

If you would like, I can take a picture of my Huff with a ruler so you may have a better idea of the height of Brawny.

Regardless we may be looking at something far more complex than a Commander or Deluxe toy, looking at the pics. It isn't just size that matters; it's what you do with it. 8-}

[Edit] For giggles, I took out my tape measure. It looks like Huff is about 5 7/8" to the front bumper of his cab. I estimate Brawny to be maybe a shade over 5 1/2" based on the above comparison pic. "Commander" Windcharger is almost exactly 4". "Commander" Guzzle is about 3 1/4" to his head, 3 1/2" to the tops of his shoulders. Deluxe Prime is 5 1/2" tall. Does that satisfy your measurements? Height wise, he is about as tall as a deluxe, but that makes sense in the MP Scale of things. I will expect MP BB to come in somewhere around this too.

BadCube 1st RULE: You do not talk about Cubex.
BadCube 2nd RULE: You DO NOT talk about Huff
Badcube 3rd RULE: You do not talk about Brawny either.

Jokes aside... I understand this is supposed to be Brawn... but does anyone else look at this and thing 'Wow, that looks odd'?

Regardless, while I hate to admit it, iGear did a decent enough job with this character so, pass.

Give these guys spiked helmets and battle axes and they can be off to the Dwarf wars.

They need to slim down the torso's a little and I think that will solve a lot of the proportion issues.

For me, right now, iGear Brawn will work just fine for MP Brawn.

I like what I am seeing and may be picking these up (if the quality is good). I agree that they look a little squat but overall I am impressed with the transformation and their uncanny cartoon resemblance in bot and robot mode (though that head mold needs some tweaking).

I am hoping that the car hood in bot mode can flip back so the head is unimpeded.

Question for the car folks - How accurate are the alt modes? The alt modes seem rather plain. Is that how their supposed to look?

According to TFwiki.net it's unclear what exactly Brawn is supposed to transform into. Brawny gives me a distinct feeling of the land rover or whatever from The Gods Must Be Crazy.

[Edit] Darn blocked hotlinking...

A Quick Google Search seems to indicate this is a 1954 Land-Rover 86" Series I 'The Antichrist':

So, yeah, probably that plain looking. These old Jeeps, Land Rovers and International Scouts were more about function than style...

BadCube
Brawny and Backland both have their own boxes much like Huff (oops 2nd rule). whoever orders BOTH* OTS-02 + OTS-03 during preorder period shall receive a 3rd package for free. it contains objects from the original show and did I say substitute face? sneak peek

BadCube.
factory called an hour ago, we are receiving new protos tomorrow or day after, the material might still be fragile but good enough for taking photos, even better news, BadCube will be taking the photos this time not some factory workers with their cell phone, so I say new photos on sunday maybe

When ask about a reissue of Huff .

BadCube.
at this moment no, because that needs more investment and the old mold may not be good enough for new standard (we don't have it anyway), there are few new design ideas get toss around, but OTS no.4 has been confirmed and the 3D drawing almost complete. we may revisit this option in near future though, if so, he shall be better and more solid

What bothers me about those quotes is that, without knowing which factory BadCube is working with we truly have NO idea if this is indeed a better factory with better QC. And it's not like I expect them to name the factory (I wouldn't know them if they were named anyways), but this just seems silly. If these are going to be quality product, I'll more than happy to wait for some reviews once the figures are out. I've already said the price is more than *I* am willing to pay for these guys.

And when discussing the issues with the Cubex Huff, people paid good money for that figure to be riddled with QC issues (joints, paint, etc). It's not like they got a discount for buying this figure, it's not like it was advertised beforehand as "hey we're bringing you this character 'Huff', and the QC might not be good so it's on you the buyer". Going to the bargain stores and buying a KO Devastator for $5, now THAT is a bargain. And you know you're getting crap but it kinda works.

So, wait and see. It's just hard to put any trust in some of these newer companies.

Bas news ont he Huff front. I'd have liked it better if they'd reissue it very soon. But it's not a total loss; at least they aren't ruling it out.

Thinking about pre-ordering these ?

While IG Brawn is ok and fills a gap he's not the best , here what i have a problem with .

1. He can barley stand in a good pose.
2. His arms pop off too easy .
3. Stress marks on the ball joint sockets.
4. The toy accurate bucket head

Likes about Brawny from what i can tell .

1. Cartoon accurate head (no bucket) .
2. Stable feet .
3. Shoulder joints .
4. Deluxe/Small deluxe? sized non of that minibots have to be smaller .
5. Alt mode looks a lot cleaner and more MP looking .

Pretty much just the total opposite to IG effort . Not to take away the fact that i still think IG brawns chest/body has a lot nicer shape than BC .

BC looks very squat but i do like it and i'll be happy to get rid of another tiny Autobot in return for a bigger representation .
