I wouldn't be too hasty. I believe these specific ones are custom repaints. Perhaps their indicative of a future release, but these aren't them specifically.

Pretty cool, but not my cup of tea. I'm not huge into G2, so I wouldn't get this if FP did it. Especially since there's a more than likely possibility that we'll see Hasbro do it in the future.

this topic should be closed. these are customs. do some research before transferring misinformation from tfw. These were made by Encline Designs (commissioned by a fan). for one thin his Breakdown is different from the official release.

Customs or not, a trustworthy source of mine confirmed a while back this would be done. Seeing these customs at the ages 3 and up booth just reaffirms this in my opinion. The method in which the other figures will be relessed is the real mystery.

yeah. i like G2 and all, but i doubt id bite on this. only way i would is if all my other 3P combiners were released in G2 colors as well, and i dont see that happening.

IF this were real, what would it mean for the TFcon exclusive breakdown? hed have to be given a general release.

Bear in mind they also did an exclusive Sludge; there's no reason not to think they're going into the business of exclusive sets. At the con they also said they didn't quite know how they were going to sell the other exclusive Dinobots which is why I didn't buy exclusive Sludge.

Anyway, G2? It has very little love from me. I like G2 Breakdown for his history, but that's all. there's no way I'd get a set like this. But I hope it happens for the G2 fans out there.

Never liked the Generation 2 colored Transformers toys. I'm happy to own the first release FP Generation One stunticons. Don't want them in G-2 colors.

I cant speak for the Autobot ranks, but as far as the Decepticons go the G2 combiners are 2/3 complete.

I don't have a source for this, but I could swear that I've heard that the difference would be in the packaging. The convention exclusive version came carded, on a card nicely styled to homage G2 packaging design. Where as I think they said that a mass retail version would be boxed. (Not sure if they meant individually boxed, like with the original release, or "boxed" as in a boxed set of all five.)

In addition, the convention exclusive version also had some sort of mail away card thingy, yes? So one presumes you'll also get some other unique thing in exchange for that. Any word on what that is yet, or is it still a mystery?

So even if there is a release of the whole set in G2 colors, and even if it includes a figure identical in deco to the convention exclusive one, that exclusive had a few other (minor) perks to keep it unique.

youre right, but im picky. im not a fan of MT's giant, and an FOC combiner doesnt belong with my classics combiners.

ahhh k. that makes a lot of sense.

im really on the fence on this one. maybe i would get it just because the G2 menasor is so scandalous

In my world the WFC/FOC continuity doesn't exist. I repurpose the figures as "ancient Cybertronian". After all, the Combaticons were "renegade decepticons". I kind of like having this mold as the G2 version. It's like Bruticus got an upgrade from the WWII vehicles.

ive actually been waffling back and forth on the FOC toys. do i want to full FOC disaply or just call those figures the "cybertronian" versions of those characters for my classics display? i think ive landed on having an FOC display because well, theres enough of them to accommodate them having their own space.

I've been similarly waffling, but am leaning towards Classics integration. Especially if Hasbro comes out with a Bruticus for Combiner Wars, I may end up selling my Platinum + MBC (where is MBC Onslaught anyway? Jeez!!!), at which point, well... what's the point?

hypothetical: lets just say hasbro makes cybertronian versions of other combiners, youll be awfully sore that you ditched your FOC bruticus. and even though im not going to MBC route myself, it is seriously badass and will make an amazing bruticus. ;)

Got rid of my SDCC and Platinum Bruticus ages ago. Thought the sculpts, colors and engineering were inferior.

Ugh!

These colours are absolutely horrendous! Looks like they went to the Action Master Thundercracker school of fashion. They're not quite as eye searing as the G2 combaticons, but that's hardly saying much.
