Now thats cool. Lets just hope it scales with their menasor and they dont try to pull that toy accurate mini bot crap. I have faith in fansproject though...

This teasing is frustrating... especially since Monstructor is one I've been wanting for a long time now. Hope we get some concrete details and some nice pics soon, but I won't hold my breath. Knowing that this is coming though just made my day, regardless of being teaser-jerked.

Depends on how they do it. IMO, Monscructor has always been the "purer" of the two. The Dinoforce were just monster-styled robots in different pretender shells/backpacks/whatever.

Pretty much how I feel too. It'll be interesting to see how FP presents this combiner. I can only hope they go the Monstructor route first, because I really cannot see myself opening my wallet for Dinoking.

Not gonna lie, I always thought Monstructor was the derpiest combiner. Even aside from being tiny, he was neon as **** and he looks a bit...eh, really. The only guy I can name is Slog, the sociopathic artist (who is awesome).

I wonder how they'll handle the whole "pretender" thing? The pretender shells looked a fair bit better than the actual monster modes of the inner robots IMO. I'd love it if they styled the individual robots with elements of their shells and we got some ultra-creepy pseudo organic robots, but that will most likely never happen.

You know fp. I love your stuff I really do but where is my mindwipe. I mean you announced and released a dinobot and in two different color schemes and I'm still waiting...

I really want a 3rd party monstructor. But I really did not like their menasor. I'll wait till I see more before I decide.

Think it will be a hard task creating those 3rd party fully articulated rubber monster and dino pretender shells. Then even harder trying to squueze the robots inside those shells. either the robots will be tiny or the shells will be huge.

If FP creates the pretender shells. Think they should give buyers the option to buy the shells or not. Maybe do a set A just the robots and set B just the pretender shells.

Nah, most likely FP is going to ditch the shells completely and work the design cues into the alt mode instead. Rubber shells generally don't last long.

Though if they're indeed trying to do the shells they might just try to do it like those MG Gundam kits with the bot as inner frames with detachable pretender armor pieces.

As complicated as FP can get with their designs, I really don't see them going so far as to work with inner frames with detachable creature skins. Think I would prefer FP take subtle cues from the pretender shells when designing the alt modes of these guys. Just enough to pay homage to the shells while letting the robot and color aesthetics of the inner robots dominate the design.

Yeah, I know. The number of parts for such engineering would definitely rake up the cost as well.

Hopefully they'll do what Hasbro did with Bludgeon and Skullgrin-the robot modes influenced by the outer shell and the alternate modes akin to the inner robot's vehicle mode.

All these companies need to slow down. It's nice to be bombarded with product and all, but it's getting a bit much.

What i was thinking. With Dinoking, they only need to make one more dino and do the necessary remolding of the Lost Exo-Realm dinos to allow for combining and ...boom, Dinoking

I am excited to have Monstructor. I loved him in the IDW comics, and his G1 form was so tiny :(

I hope they pull off the alt modes well. But the combined mode needs to be stellar, because that is how I would display him.

Doesn't Monstructor's touch corrode and decay Transformers and other life? If so, he definitely needs creepy clawed hands.

I believe so. i know he's an eldritch abomination. I'd really like it if they gave him a very organic, Giger-esque look partially inspired by the pretender shells, but that probably won't happen.

I want Monstructor more than Dinoking.

Were the vintage G1 toys the exact same robot molds with different pretender shells ? Or were the robots retooled as well ?

Only shells and colors were different. Same figures otherwise.
