May go well with Blitzwing. But those colours ... I think Henkei did it better.

Love this and will be buying it. Wondering what the toy scale is. Looks like it might be Ultra or leader scale.

Think the toy is bound to get a few recolors to please more buyers and to get more cash out of the mold.

Is that a TW Grimlock next to a TW Sludge and TW Swoop?

RobotMel, Thanks for the extra pics.

Think this toy is awesome enough for me to buy it in it'sm current toy colors and then again in it's carton colors.

Looking at the TW Astrotrain on display next to some TW deluxe scale toys. It appears TW Astrotrains robot mode is 2 times and 1/4 the height of that red TW trottlebot's robot mode. TW Astrotrain Next to TW MF Grand Maximus looks to be the same exact leader scale. Guessing this TW Astrotrain toy is MP seeker 8 inch Ultra toy scale or Leader scale.

Looking at the vehicle mode pics. This TW Astrotrain has got to be at least MP seeker or leader scale. As the pic of TW Astrotrain in vehicle modes is tripple the size of those TW Deluxe trottlebots on the same display shelf. TW Astrotrains vehicle modes seem to be the same leader scale as TW Grand max on that shelf.

Think this TW Astrotrain sculpt and bigger scale beats the pants off that mediocre HasTak 1.0 Classics Astrotrain toy.

Don't want this to be deluxe scale as HasTak has already done that toy scale for this character toy. Think Voyager scale is too small and tiny of a scale for this update character toy. Luckily it appears this toy is MP Seeker or leader scale.

Think this TW Astrotrain toy is much better than that other 3rd party astrotrain that came with that Train Hopper cart infused with the train mode. On the bright side, that toy might offer 3rd party buyers, The voyager scale they might be seeking.

That Astrotrain was the best mold to come out of that line of figure. I'm pretty sure that's a scientific fact.

That said, I will probably get this guy too. I'm really hoping he's voyager sized so he can stand alongside Blitzwing.

Never cared for the overly boxy robot mode parts on HasTak 1.0 Chug Astrotrain. Thought it was a bad idea to do the bullet train design instead of the old school train design. Because the bullet train design looked a bit like the other shuttle mode.

Think the whole charm of 1985 astrotrains two alt modes. Was having one old school alt mode and one new age alt mode. it was like old meets new.

Looking at that pic of TW Astrotrain next to TW Trottlebots, he's 2 and 1/4 taller in robot mode and tripple the scale in alt modes. TW Astrotrain looks to be the same scale as TW grandmax is which is leader scale.

On that TFCON TW shelf TW Astrotrain has got to be at least MP Seeker toy scale at it's smallest and TW Grand max Leader scale at it's biggest.

Think the TW Astrotrain toy looks way bigger than a HasTak standard Voyager scale toy. Which varies from 6 & 1/5 inch to 7 & 1/3 inch tall robot mode.

Honestly I find the cartoon colours on Astrotrain pretty hideous. The only reason they used the colours at all is because of a blunder where the animators got pictures of the toy prototype rather than the actual finished product. A cartoon repaint is a given, but honestly I'd go for the toy colours.

I hope this guy is nice and big. It made zero sense that in the cartoon he had 2 very large alternate modes and yet was "normal-sized" in robot mode. He should have been a hulking brute, especially as the transport guy. Hopefully this guy is at least and Ultra class.

And X, do you have to call everything that doesn't fall within your ridiculous definitions for what makes a good toy (I.E: slavish adherence to the often inconsistent designs in a 30 year old cartoon to the exclusion of all else- including common sense) "crap"? It's really getting old, man.

Some TF news sites are reporting that TW Astrotrain is Leader scale. Basically MP seeker or Leader scale makes me happy, So i'm satisfied here.

I agree with your above statement. Also think the Decepticons triple changers deserve MP seeker or leader scale toys. As some scenes in the 1980's TF cartoon series showed Astrotrain and Blitzwing being the same height or taller than the Seekers. Blitzwing in season 3 was shown the same scale as Galvatron.

One mans crap is another mans treasure. I could understand your point if I was talking about the aesthetic of the figure, but I'm merely talking about the paint scheme. Ive never been a fan of the vintage G1 toys colors, scales, etc. The whole point of this figure seems to shooting for a more cartoon accurate aesthetic. So why go with toy colors ? I say leave the vintage colors for vintage bricks. That's just my opinion. My bold comments don't make it a fact.

I think you're right. I was basing my hops on a poorly-angled picture that was taken this morning. That Kuma Design guy may take awesome staged shots, but he's not good at candids.

Now that I've seen some better pics, I do think he's leader-sized, which puts him too big for what I want.

And yet another reveal that I am interested in, but is probably too big and expensive for my collection. Plus, Classics Astrotrain is really all I need at this point...

http://chimungmung.com/product_info.php ... ts_id=2103

Chimungmung, Has this toy already up for pre-order for $119. The release date is November 30, 2015 . Chimmung is listing the toys robot height measurements as 22.5 cm. Which translates to 8.85 inches which rounds off to 8.9 inches talll.

It appears this toy is in definate MP TF toy scale. As the MP seekers have 8 inch tall robot modes. 1985 Blitzwing and Astrotrain were shown bigger and bulkier than the seekers in the cartoon and toy line.

Having TW Astrotrain be 8.9 means it's a bit smaller than MP-09 and MP-10 which seems about right. 8.9 is around MP Soundwaves height which also seems correct.

Personally, Think it seems like a fair low price for a 3rd party leader scale MP styled toy. A Takara MP TF Leader scale toy like this would easily sell for over $160. While a Hasbro USA MP TF Leader scale toy thats a tripple changer would easily sell for about $90 at TRU USA.

Think BBTS will sell this for cheaper than Chimungmung. As I noticed BBTS has some 3rd party toys listed for cheaper than Chimungmung does.

Scale: Im actually fine with this size for classics. Makes sense to me that Astro Train is a head or so taller then most the troops since he carries the squad.

Deco: Cartoon colors and you get my money. >:oP

If you're starting out with toy colors, then I'm passing. Really want the cartoon color scheme. Also, Blitzwing wants his visor back.

now, after seeing DX9's astrotrain, im out. theirs just hit my buttons better. TW's just doesnt seem as... i dunno.. elegant? he seems clunky in comparison. he does have the superior train mode though.

Actually like the TW Astrotrain better than the DX9 Astrotrain toy.

Wish BBTS would put up preorders up for TW Astrotrain and TW Fort Max.

Easily guessing that TW will do the cartoon colors for Astrotrain.
