FansProject are doing a Dinoking, who is slightly larger than the FansProject Stunticons, a six member team. A prototype was shown, a very impressive design, with a huge axe and guns that can combine into a larger weapon. He stands around the same height as the M3 (roughly) and is based on the Ox design. He seems very faithful to the style of the original Dinoking / Monstructor design.

Think a cool idea would be to have all the pretender dino sells merge to form a gestalt. While the inner robot could also merge to form a gestalt.

I'm very curious to see how they handle the dino shells.

I'mmmmmmm gonna keep an eye on this one. I'm not crazy about the pretender aspect, but I do like Dinoking as a character. And my current Dinoking stand-in is missing an Ankylosaurus...

Probably just a paintjob/reshell away.
I too am interested as to how they intend to do the Pretender aspect. This is FP though so I'm sure they'll think of something.
Also I reckon they're doing Dinoking first to appeal to the Japanese market. Or perhaps Monstructor is going to be a very different mold that uses the same engineering but incorporates the monster shell designs into the robots (so Slog turns into whatever the hell his shell was, rather than the nondescript little gold block of his inner robot).

That head sculpt is gorgeous! Can't wait for this. I'm glad he is being released one member at a time & the shells are being released separately.

As am I on both counts. I have absolutely no desire to own the Pretender Shells, so I'm glad I can pass on them.

The pretender shells will be dependent on their price for me. They look fun but I don't want to pay a lot for them

I missed that news. Great for those who want to save money but overall I don't think it makes sense to sell the shells separately.

They claimed they were too big to be boxes up with the individual figures. The shells are pretty hefty.

Is it just me, or does it look like they're purposefully trying to mimic the CW hands?

You could be right. I must admit I love the "knuckle-blaster" look of the CW hands, so that's fine by me.

When the hands and feet are done in proportion to the body it doesnt look so bad. These actually can be classified as knuckle blasters unlike the CW hands which were just toes protruding from the fists sugarcoated into looking like guns.
