No thanks, I've already got a HasTak 1.0 Mirage toy that has a stretched out, long skinny legs, female looking robot mode. Don't need to pay 3rd party prices for another one.
I'll be buying the DX9 Mirage toy, As it has the bulkier robot mode, I seek.

takaras primary focus on MP's right now is obviously the G1 cars. why bother? give us things that they wont do, or at least is really low on their list!
i bought defender as well, because with all the half assed attempts hasbro had at springer i felt that thats all springer would be to them: repaint fodder. boy was i wrongfenrir72 wrote:I bought FP not Broadside and Springer because, there was no Springer. Wish 3rd P would do the same as well.......create items Tomy/Hasbro isn't willing to make.shajaki wrote:why 3P why....

while i agree with this, some things are impossible to predict. as mentioned above, i had reasons to doubt hasbros commitment to the springer character, so i went with defender. which was actually a reissue, so i had actually waited some time after defenders original release. and for me, once a figure is "replaced", the original is now useless. defender now sits in a box somewhere.necr0blivion wrote:Yeah, but how many years did you have to wait from Defender to the release of Generations Springer? Without even knowing that this Springer was in the works. That would be like me complaining that I purchased iGears Van brothers if/when Takara announces MP Ironhide/Ratchet. Because I've had the van brothers for years and LOVE them in my collection. Honestly, they fit in either Classics or MP displays. Defender sits well in a Wreckers display with the other FP Warbots, and I can just choose to give him a different name now that we have a fitting Springer for Generations.
The same might go for Sphinx. Not that I've been awaiting a chance to replace my Classics Mirage, because I do like him and the fun engineering used for that particular mold. Wish I would've picked up the Crasher repaint all those years ago.
perhaps im misunderstanding, but those two sentences seem contradictory to me....necr0blivion wrote:With the way the MP line is now going, I believe it's only a matter of time before we get an official Mirage. I want this Sphinx because I trust the quality of MMC and I think I'll be very pleased with the final product.

But we've been getting quality products from MMC for a few years now. Besides, let's just attribute this to growing pains. With such a full schedule of figures they've been announcing, I'm inclined to think that we're going to see more normal release times.
necr0blivion wrote:Autobot032 wrote:2.) No good picture of the robot mode to make a decision with.
But this is just a teaser to get the interest going. I think we'll get more details and pictures of bot mode before the pre-orders go up.

I would disagree. Individual Feralcons are huge voyager figures and you could've gotten on the early bird discounts to buy them cheaper than the TFC combiner guys or Warbotron figures. Hexatron is HUGE and articulate, yet only costs about $130 - 140. These fembots are going for $60/ea; or you could go for Perfect Effect versions between $90 - 100 or the one iGear sold a few years back for $120. I'm not going to estimate how much Sphinx will go for, but I'd wager it will be at a price I can agree with.

...this is MY opinion. It's not up for debate, I was merely stating, akin to thinking out loud, as to how I feel about this guy, not actually putting it out there as a piece of discussion.
However, since it's been addressed, I'll respond. Their schedule is ridiculous. Nearly 20 months for a combiner limb to be released. There's ZERO excuse for that. Zero. There's no amount of quality that excuses such a long wait time. There just isn't.

I...I get that. That doesn't change the fact that I want even just a render of the bot mode, now. It's not that difficult for them to blow up the picture. Kinda lazy of them not to.
