With more and more 3rdp taking the Masterpiece rout these days and us collectors either been strictly Takara or happy to purchase anything 3rdp to fill the gaps , into KO or even anti- MP , I thought this thread could help put over our views and opinions all in one spot .

So here's a thread for anything masterpiece .

Love that 3rd parties are creating more and more MP TF styled toys.

Think the need is definately their, As HasTak creates under a handful of new mold MP TF toys each year.

Find it kinda cool that 3rd parties are complimenting HasTak's MP Voyager scale car-bots.
With similar scaled different character toys.

Love the bigger TF toys the most and HasTak barely makes 2 to 3 new mold Leader scale TF toys each year. So yeah, more of these, I feel is definately needed. Being done in the fully articulated is a huge bonus.

Even though HasTak does create 2-3 Leader scale TF toys per year. They are not 1980's G-1 updates. So having 3rd parties step in and give fans Leader scale MP TF G-1 updates toys is beyond awesome and definately needed.

Regarding those much bigger 3rd party MP TF toys that are 12+ inches bigger. Think they are excellent. HasTak sometimes will go years without giving TF buyer this 12+ inch robot size. So for fans craving this, It's a God send in the form of 3rd parties giving it to them. Months ago, I bought that KFC Citizen stacks and I think it's a top notch, high quality, fully articulated, superior built toy. KFC shipped out replacements parts, So the QC problems were fixed.

My short list of 3rd party MP TF toys i'd like to see are,

G-1 or IDW Cyclonus.

G-1 Blitzwing

G-1 or IDW Galvatron, Probably both if I had my way ;)

G-1 Rodimus prime, Similar to the Titanium 6 inch Rodimus Prime, Only in the 9.5 Inch Leader toy scale.

G-1 Hot Rod, Done to match the HasTak MP Voyager car-bots scale and sculpting. Maybe later include a Trailer that can come apart to form armor parts to create a super combiner Rodimus Prime robot mode. In the spirt of FP Protector, only bigger and more dated. Ultra-Leader scale combiner.

MF or IDW Overlord, Think 12 to 14 inch robot height is what I'm most seeking.

Ultra or Leader scale MP toys for 1987 Apeface and SnapDragon. TW is my choice company for this task.

Like to see some more Takara Japanese exclusive G-1 TF characters get 3rd party MP TF toys.

Would be interested in buying 3rd party MP TF Beast Wars toys in the Voyager, Ultra and Leader toy scales.

I guess i made this thread beacause MP is my last stop collecting transformers , i think ive been through every phase in the past six year and this line is perfect .

So this past week iv'e sold nearly every deluxe hasbro figure i have , i'm done with deluxe scale figures and so i made up some ground buying a handfull of MP figures .

Now i like the idea of having only Takara no 3rdp or KOs in my collection and this way it keeps money in my pocket

At the moment though i'm not that loyal and with the likes of Apollyon Andras and Transistor coming out it's hard not to want them , These 3rdp mp will be chosen carefully i won't buy most of what come out but i will be continue buying Warbotron sized combiners

Also even though i'm not a really a KO buyer those MP KO are very tempting for the characters/repaints that don't mean much to me like TigerTracks and Silverstreak and only costing £20 for a very high quality ko from watching videos is something i'm considering

So yeah i'm a MP guy now

I just cant get into MP scale. They're big for nothing. I don't need big because I don't play with them, I just display them. Although I don't own it, Igear's Faith Leader proved a figure doesn't have to be big to have MP engineering. Some of the more complex Fansproject and Maketoys figures have also proved that the enlarged size o MP figures is overkill. They can be both G1 accurate and complex without being the size of Barbie dolls in my opinion.

I wonder if this is related or applicable but if 1st party does a Voyager version of THS-02 or a 3rd party TH02, I'm game! MP-10 is great and all but I kind of prefer the original G1 line scale.

While I don't collect MP, I've been very surprised at how decent their prices are compared to smaller sized figures. I seem to recall early guesses being at over $300. They're almost priced the same as HasTak MPs

Also been noticing this too for a year or Two now.

Recent examples are TW's MP styled Leader scaled Astrotrain TW Fort Max, X-T MP Megatron toys selling for $30 to $50 less than Takara would have sold them as MP TF toys in Japan.

Honestly X, as a hardcore G1 guy, you will never get better G1 representations of the cast.
Size aside, this line was made for you, buddy!

Come to the dark side. :)

Yeah it's a little strange for a guy who bangs on about G1 cartoon accuracy and scale is not all over this line .

What put me off at first was me thinking all the Dats/Lambs were just repaints and i had no interest other than the soundwaves and starscreams and was totally looking past how awesome they are.

I recently got WJ and he alone was enough to scrap deluxe and turn me to the darkside so much so this week i bought Smokescreen , Sideswipe , G2-Sideswipe , Prowl , Silverstreak and even a sneaky lena BumbleBee untill the official boxed version and just to top it of it's my Birthday tomorrow and i have Asia ex Optimus from my lovely girlfriend :x

I got a little obsessed 8-}

But as i said this is my last stop in this hobby this line is perfect just perfect no need for any other has/tak lines ...well maybe the odd generations voyager , there's just nothing else i want to collect from has/tak now .

Actually, I think MPs are the light side. ;)

I don't buy 3rdp figures to replace them i buy what i think is the best version out that will not be beat and most of the time i know this because most of the time hasbro or some other 3rdp already did it

But with the MP line being so small and has a lot of ground to cover it has thrown me off a little on what i purchase because we don't know whats round the corner from takara

so this has made me think for a minute about jumping the gun on certain figures like DX9 Mirage , Take Apollyon mind blowing sculpt very very very hard to pass on

How many of you will be buying all the character takara havent got to yet and will keep them or would you get rid once the official toy is released .

If I was just collecting MPs, I would be more likely to do buy 3P with the thought to "replace if necessary" down the line if a better one comes along, official or otherwise.

Since I collect MP as well as classics (and superhero figures, and a few other things here and there) I tend to stick to the official channel for MP unless I have serious doubts that Takara will produce it (ie Quakewave).

I'm seriously thinking about the 3P-MP Mirage though, as he was one of my favorite characters and toys when I was a kid.

The whole point of me going MP only is exactly because Takara doesn't produce 10 figures a month for that line. That way I can go completist on all the figures from it that I want, plus maybe one or two of the silly ones (like Nemesis Prime or G2 Sideswipe).
So Takara hasn't made X as an MP yet, all that means is that I have a longer to save up to it.

I will however, bet 3rd party accessories to MP figures, if I feel them to be necessary.

I'm definitely after the Dr Wu Rambo set now I own the sheer embodiment of awesome that is MP G2 Sideswipe (Oh dear, I think I may be turning into Duragrip...) and I have no problem getting 3P accessories for MP figures. Actual 3P MPs though I'm not so sure on, as simply put I have a feeling that most of the G1 cast is going to get the treatment. That said, if someone made a good MP Arcee I'd be all over that like a hot rash (when I have the money and space I intend to build an Arcee shrine with as many different versions of her as possible- Delicate Warrior, the HasTak release, my Animated Arcee, the Fewture Models figure...I really like Arcee, OK?)
