Mastermind Creations-Are Their Products Good?

Hey.
So I don't normally buy 3rd Party products due to the cost, but I was intrigued when I heard Mastermind Creations was doing figures of the Decepticon Justice Division. I was wondering if their products were worth the cost, since I've heard that sometimes 3rd party companies don't deliver. So if you've dealt with them before, it would help me to decide whether I should buy them or not, when they come out. All help would be appreciated :3.

Probably the wrong section of the forum for this thread, but in answer to your question - yes, I believe so. I only have Hexatron, but I absolutely love him. I don't buy 3P combiners but I've had my hands on Feral Rex before and he was also very good. I hear good things about the fembots too.

I'm currently in for the DJD, but I want to see the UK price of Vos first, because he's the smallest and I need to gauge just how expensive Helex, Tarn and Tesarus are going to be. However, I'm sure they'll do a good job of them.

I too am a Hexatron owner. Very good quality product. If they keep the prices of the DJD reasonable I'll be more than happy to get them.

I would back MMC 100% They're are very attentive with every products giving very low QC issues .

All 6 of my Feral Rex figures are solid and for those who had any issues replacement parts were packed with the next release .

Ive had two Hexatrons and both again were quality no issues with mine .

Then Azalea , a very small dainty figure compared to the others and just as durable imo with the most complex transformation of all the MMC figures i have bought.

I think MMC have earned there reputation of being the best 3rdp by constantly giving us better quality with every release even if it means waiting another month or five ;) to get the figure . .

Think Mastermind Creations have great QC and uses high quality parts. The engineeering is top notch. The toys have above average articulation.

The only negative I'd give Mastermind is poor to terrible looking head sculpts.

I've got Hex, preds and 2 of the fembots and they are all top quality figures. MMC are one of the few 3Ps I'd trust without hesitation. I'm not interested in their DJD stuff personally, but they will be great none the less.

I'll add my voice to the support for MMC. Even when there were minor issues, they sent fixes in later releases (of the Predacon set, Feral Rex, anyway.) I have had some issues transforming the ladies, but I blame my sausage fingers more than MMC.

I used to think FansProject was number one among the 3P companies. MMC with Feral Rex and Hexatron has won me over completely! I'm not particularly interested in the DJD stuff, but I am very close to pulling the trigger on them because of the rock solid company they are!

As the owner of hexatron and feral rex, I can agree that MMC is top of the food chain. Fansproject is still up there, but MMC has mastered a way of giving you the same quality without the annoying fiddlyness. Keep in mind I dont own their arcee mold yet which ive heard is a bi**h. Im waiting for the elita one version of the mold. I have no interest in DJD. But for those of you who are under the impression that MMC is going to complete an entire DJD line, remember the hearts of steel line. Obscure comic stuff just doesnt bring in the big bucks like G1 homages.

I have tons of the MMC products (Feral Rex, Fembots, Hexatron and their older HoS line of stuff)

All 100% top quality products IMO.

I'm gonna be an echo in here, but yeah, MMC is so far my fav 3p company, kicking Maketoys into 2nd place.

Overall great QC, Good CS, and product that's worth every penny.

Think the main negative MMC has. It takes far too long for MMC to release their products.

Think it's a bad idea for MMC to create a combiner or group set of toys like DJD. Prefer MMC leave this to the faster Third party companies.

Think MMC will release all of the DJD toys and their repaints. But guessing it will take the entire 2015 year and the first quarter of 2016 to release them all.

Rumors abounded last year that MMC opened up a second factory for their branched off MP TF toy line. Hoping this speeds up things for them for all of their toys.

Have no interest in buying any of the DJD toys or their repurposed characters toys.

The only MMC toy i'm waiting for is their Carnifex Overlord. Hoping it gets released sometime in 2015. But with MMC's slow pace and their MP Line. No doubt I won't see Carnifex Overlord till 2016 or 2017.

Hoping at the very least MMC this year. Shows a few test shots and further along CAD files art pics of Carnifex Overlord at some of those Conventions this year. That have some 3rd party panel Q and A show and tell panels shows.

mastermind is great but be aware that they are hard core collector display piece type stuff by which I mean their stuff is very detailed to the point where it can be fragile in some spots. It is top quality for third party IMO but if you look at pics of say the hearts of steel seekers they made, i have those and they are great and good quality but those wings and propellers scare me lol but thats just because they chose to make them very accurate and detailed rather than kid friendly and bashable.

I completely agree about the HoS stuff, especially the seekers.
They are museum pieces, not action figures.
Perfect, but delicate.

It seems their later releases are built with more robust construction in mind.
They keep a lot of the details, but have much less fragility.

I felt that way about all the HOS stuff as well, which is why I waited until the last second to jump onto Hexatron and Feral Rex. But man, am I glad I did. They're not only beautiful, but solid as a rock. I feel like I could transform them a hundred times without an issue.

Think early in the beginning MMC and other Third parties. Were making some fragile toys. It seems like MMC and other Third parties are now making more stronger durable toys.

cool beans. i went with tfc for predaking so i cant speak to those. just watch those parts if you pick up previous releases. i dont even think it is a result of their level of ability i think it is because in the specific example i gave they were trying to nail a pre existing design that was not designed with kids playing with toy versions of them in mind like say combiner wars comic designs. unless mastermind used metal they were bound to be fragile or sacrifice accuracy. im happy with accuracy as im not banging/throwing them around!

QFT. MMC and Maketoys are the top two TPCs that I can count on for high quality goods. In the off-chance that they have qc issues, they rectify the problem almost INSTANTLY (i.e. Quantron.) Fansproject comes at a close third for me because they TYPICALLY offer top-notch products, but some of their recent offerings are a bit shoddy. I don't think you can ever go wrong with MMC. Plus, MMC prices tend to be on the lower end of the TPC pricing.

I have Sixshot and the Predaking combiner. I have no complaints or regrets about buying them, even though I'm not that interested in Sixshot as a character.

The quality and articulation is all good.
