Would like to see a Mega Pretender Thunderwing toy get made.

Think HasTak did a great attempt a few years ago. but the toy was too small.
Would like to see a Masterpiece Ultra or Leader class 3rd party Thunderwing toy. As he had a big G1 toy. Was a big character in the Marvel TF comics.
Fully articulated robot Pretender shell that Transforms into a futuristic Jet. Does that Duo combiner jet mode. Has a articulated Minicon robot inside the Pretender shell torso cavity. Minicon transforms into a tiny jet. Comes with G1 styled weapons.

I'm in agreement for a larger Thunderwing, however I hate the Pretender concept with a passion. I like Hasbro's recent re-imaging/merging of the pretender shell/vehicle toy.

Yeah, I think Hasbro's on the right track with it's melding of shells and inner robots. Except for the Autobots; they should go for just inner robot homages should they ever go that route (I think TFCC Metalhawk proves that).
Still, I'll completely contradict myself by saying that I'd like to see what a 3rd party company could do to make the Pretender concept actually work. I don't think highly articulated shells with a minicon in the centre is the answer. The recently-cancelled Play With THis Too line had a nice take where the robots functioned as weapons. Although they're still pretty simple stuff.
I've said before and I'll reiterate that I think snap on armour and swappable heads may be the answer. I really like armoured up robots and making the Pretenders line into that sort of idea would work for me. But having it be a shell, as it was int he old days, would just be unworkable. Either the shell or the robot would be sacrificed.
Edit:
I think what gets lost is that the core concept of Pretenders is that they're PRETENDING to be something they're not - not the use of shells. I think making the pretending concept work with armour is a lot moire viable than using shells and inner robots.

I'd be up for a HasTak CHUG styled Merged evolved Pretender transforming bot to jet Thunderwing toy. As long as it's a MP Ultra or Leader class toy i'd buy it.
If MMC creates more animal inner pretender robots like Catilla Felisaber that can combine with their Feral Rex. I'd buy them. Thinking these guys can be replacement legs or arms bots for Feral Rex. Snarler, Carnivac and Chainclaw. Maybe ChainClaw can be a Torso that replaces Razorclaw.
Was even thinking about doing Beast Wars organic looking Voyager class toys. For the Pretender shell organic modes that can transform into Metal looking robot modes. Since the G1 1988 Shells had no robot mode, They can look like the inner robots, robot modes.

Im good with generations thunderwing. Nice scale, nice homage to the G1 shell without using action figures.

Probably would have liked Generations Thunderwing if it was a Voyager class toy.
Just don't like HasTak update CHUG toys that are smaller than the original G1 toys. Or smaller than they appeared in the fiction.
In the Marvel TF G1 comics. Thunderwing was shown a big huge robot. The 1988 Mega Pretender Thunderwing toy was bigger than average. So I need at least a Update Voyager class CHUG or 3RD Party toy to reflect this. Since I'm into MP TF toys, I need a Ultra or Leader Class Thunderwing toy.

I can't even imagine the logistical nightmare an MP Thunderwing would be.

It would be the same Size as MP-10 or MP-13 or MP-08. Which is correct Marvel comics TF Thunderwing scale. As Marvel comics Thunderwing scaled evenly with these characters.

When I say "logistical nightmare" I mean in terms of making both the shell and inner robot actually good. It's the same problem as a voyager toy would be, but compounded due to the size and expectations a toy like that would entail.
Although, maybe it'd make it easier, in a way. A not-really-worth-it deluxe figure inside an articulated shell. Although that sounds kinda lame.

That's why I want the inner robot to be 2 inches tall. with a decent articulated robot that Transforms into a tiny jet minicon sized toy. So it would fit easier and smaller inside a MP Leader class Thunderwing toy torso cavity. Similar to what MP Starsabers 2 inch robot does. Similar to what that 2 inch Minimus ambus toy does with CW Leader Class Ultra Magnus.

Starsaber's a better example than Minimus. I think we're all down for a good Magnus, but I don't think anyone will argue Minimus himself is an excellent toy.
But, with Star Saber, the smaller robot's legs form the chest - something that can't be done with Thunderwing.
The problem with Pretender shells is that the whole shell idea sucks. I mean, it has it's charm and all, but the shell is a bloated, unarticulated statue and you have to have either a lanky, simplistic robot or a small, stubby robot to support it. And that would transfer to Thunderwing. You get a very articulated shell and a dinky not-worth-it inner robot.
But, honestly? I'd love to be wrong about that. I'd love to see a 3rd party actually justify the Pretender concept somehow. I had three Pretenders as a kid and I'd love to see them done up in their Pretender glory. But those shells .... I was never as disappointed in something as I was with those shells. It's like the biggest, most useless accessory ever. I'd love to be wrong about that, but I don't feel I am. I feel a true G1-esque shell actually ruins the entire idea.

a third party could probably make articulated bots and shells by simply having the inner bots utilize a glyos or glyos like limb system. the arms and legs could then be slotted into the segmented and articulated shells.
this would mean simplified transformations but a true homage to any of the original pretender bots and cons would be simple anyway. also a simplified transformation means that, even though there would be a shell and a bot, the cost could still be about average for 3rd party CHUG type products. less engineering and stuff.
plus, if glyos was used, that would be a big bonus for the figs.

I'm more inclined to agree with X on this one deluxe Thunderwing is fine. Maybe some 3rd party addons would be nice but otherwise that I'm happy with the deluxe. I think the the way the shells and robots are merged now are pretty good. Maybe if Hasbro or a 3rd party carry on and just released a few more like Iguanas etc.

Thunderwing would be great if he weren't so bloody tiny. He should be a Voyager or an Ultra at the very least (especially considering his status as the "ultimate Decepticon" and all in the Marvel comics...which I am ashamed to admit I haven't actually read).

It's should be like the idw Thunderwing, in that the inner robot basically no-longer exists and the shell becomes the robot-mode, with a third super-mode that uses the kibble as armor.

No, Please don't want anything similar to what PWTTOO is doing with their pretenders idea.
Having the inner robot for the Pretender with no articulation and as a parts former for the bigger pretender shell. Is not what a G1 Pretender toy is.
Think the PWTTOO's toy idea. Was taken from the AOE Construct bots toy line for the BMOG toys. and also the Hasbro Hero Smashers toy lines for the PWTTOO Pretenders. Where the BMOG inner robot is just a beast that snaps aparts and acts as armor for the bigger robot. Like the AOE Constructs bots Dinosaurs do for the bigger robot in the toy set. The Bigger PWTTOO pretenders remind me of Hasbro's Hero smahers toy line idea.

You are aware that the idea of modular figures that can swap parts have been around since the 80s? Sure PWTT didn't invent the concept, but neither did Hasbro.

Also aware that these former Hasbro employees. Might have been working on the Hasbro teams that created these Hero Smashers and Construct Bot toy lines. To me it appears these BMOG and PWTOO guys took these Hasbro toy line ideas before they left. Then used it for their own toy lines.

Think they should have taken better ideas that didn't bomb at stores.

Dude, how many times? Action figures with exchangeable parts are nothing new and are not a Hasbro idea.
