Is it really that easy to down size and up size 3rd party TF toys?

I don't think it is.

Think if it was so easy and not costly. Think HasTak and 3rd parties would be doing it all the time.

Noticed the Legends, basics and deluxes use more ball joints. While the bigger toys use more ratchet joints.

Also noticed the smaller toys use less parts and are more compact.

The plastic on the bigger toys seem thicker.

Think the process is harder and more costly than some realize. As parts need to be recast. measurements need to be redone and altered. joints tech might need to get changed from ball joints to ratchet joints or vice versa. plastic might need to be made thicker or less depending on different desired size. Think the cost of all of this might cost so much it might not make sense to do any of it. as you might as well just create a new mold toy instead.

So far the only evidence we have of up sizing and down sizing of 3rd party TF toy is when some KO companies tried it and failed miserably at it.

The KO attempts were disastrous. as the 3rd party TF toys proved too overly complicated to up size or down size. Noticed these up or down sized KO versions were missing parts, were loose, deleted gimmicks, less articulated, had recast simplified parts.

I'm not too sure why you started a thread only to answer your own question in the first comment #-o

Does anybody have the upsized versions of the toyworld throttlebots? I dont know about the quality, but it appears they nailed the designs perfect. I dont need em, but tsu was complaining about the throttlebots size and seems to like larger scaled figures so maybe he should buy those versions.

On the flip side, I dont think it would be too hard to downsize simple transformers to a proper classics scale. They might even be able to add additional articulation. Yes titan class Devastator, Im looking at you.

All you have to do is go to Youtube and watch a few videos reviews. Those KO up sized TW Throttlebots were made simplified in sculpting details. had some parts deleted. Some articulation and gimmicks were deleted. recasted simplified parts. So i'd say this was a failed up sizing attempt.
