Wow, never thought 3rd parties would beat Takara to the punch on Jazz?

Looks good.

"Here comes a new challenger" by way of Transform N Rollout (TrN), as they are listed on BBTS' website. The model looks cool and the pricing is nice, I'm just worried about yet another new face in the 3P game. Maybe by the time it's released we'll know about a Takara version...?

Jazz is up there with Mirage as one of my favorite G1 'bots.

I preordered this as soon as I got the notification from BBTS.

If Takara eventually does one, I'll buy that too.

You Ninjad me Mr T :D

This guys bought on sight, MP Jazz is long overdue, along with Megatron he is the gaping chasm in the MP line, thanks to 3rd Parties that has now been filled. I wonder what they'll call him, I vote for "Bluze".

It looks nice, but I gotta say: this 3rd party MP trend is insane. At this rate the Season 1-2 cast will be finished in no time (minus combiners).

I really like the look of this Jazz. The Jazz I prefer doesnt have the door wings showing like the G1 cartoon Jazz, where the G1 figure did have them, both sides get what they want here.

This is very intriguing. I like the look of the renders and, as Moonshot pointed out, the flexibility of the door wings. I'm not normally in for a 3P MP figure, but this... Image

I wonder if they can do a Go-Bot homage with this one... *wry grin*

He looks good! BUT, I don't want to like him! I want a TAKARA version. What in the ham sandwhich they doin at HasTak? These 3rd parties are making them look bad, as far as how figures are being released.

Meh...I'll be ordering him. Him in a MP style is one of my grails at the moment....

It looks decent enough .

Gotta say though I dont like the leg kibble at all and Jazz Is one of those chatacters that is a must have from takara ...so easy pass on this one .

Err, if the major issue with getting masterpiece jazz from Takara so far has been the whole VW doesn't like war toys thing, so they can't get the vehicle mode licence (I understand with mp bumblebee and wheel jack that's now history) what the hell makes these upstarts think they have the right to sell a figure whose alt mode is a carbon copy replica of the original Porsche.

They're practically begging to be slapped In the face with a cease and desist.

Not even just by porche, but they're aping the martini logo and racing stripes.

Infringing on a hasbro IP is the least of their worries.

Makes me actually think that has tak are afraid the martini thing might end up a repeat of the exhaust debacle and that's why we haven't gotten an official MP Meister yet.

Thanks for the pricing update info. Think that's a low price.

:-? Guessing the scale in both modes will try to match the scale of HasTak's MP cars bots toys.

I'm not so sure a Takara version is a nailed on as people tend to think, I honestly think if Takara were to release him he would have happened before the likes of Tracks and Magnus. My guess is that Porsche are playing hard ball and also the Martini licence is proving tricky.

Right? I was able to snag that Not-MP-Mirage as Not-Crasher. Who could Not-Jazz homage?

How about Baron Von Joy, though getting the windshield to be the head.... Image

But, yeah, not to take this too far off topic, I am curious why obvious characters like Jazz and Cliffjumper have not yet been done. The Porsche angle is consistent between these two...

Just not feeling it myself lube .

For one takara wouldnt have left those legs in that state , thats just bad especially on a MP styled figure.

I also think I prefer the classics Jazz mold over this offering.

As for characters who haven't been made yet , I thought takara might have dished out a few minibots by now but I dont think there's a particular order they are going with who's most popular its just who ever they choose to get the lisence for were needed

Fair enough, I like him and don't find the legs to be any more offputting than MP Swipes TBH.

Good point on the minibots, I'm not too bothered about them myself but yeah I would have expected more by now. I honestly don't understand Takara selection policy for figures though, I know they have to secure licenses and all but to have Wheeljack and Tracks done and dusted before Jazz seems like poor planning, which is why I belive they are having difficulty with Porsche and/or Martini.

For all we know takaras picking names out of a hat

Comparing the legs SS are much more compact , I know the designs of the cars play into it

But Jazz legs is whats putting me off top half of the robot looks decent but the legs dont match .

The wheels on the side even though it g1 I think It can look better and a gap filler for the inside leg would help a lot , the back of the legs might have had no other choice but to look kibbly so that could slide .

Edited .

Don't have proof nor evidence but with the way TT sucker punched VW by using the Tomica license for BB, maybe VW will give TT the hard finger in the rectum!
