I think with all these "wars" in the 3rd party world it's pretty cool you can clearly see whose aligned with who. So Fan's Toys and badcube seems to be by themselves making MP 3rd party stuff, Maketoys and Fans project never step on each other's toes and they seems to communicate with MMC as well? Then you have KFC, Xtransbot, UniqueToys, Dx9, Omnigonix that are at least on the same side. Pretty interesting, I think.

It's kinda fitting that both Reflector and the Insecticons are army builders. You could buy a bunch of sets and justify it as army building.

Right now TFC's Reflector is my Classics Reflector, mainly due to size. And I was never happy with how not-G1 either were. As smaller type robots, I feel like both sets have potential to fit into my CHUG collection (small MPs seem to be roughly deluxe size), so I'm interested how all these sets turn out and how tall they are.

Indeed, I'm just kinda over the MP rush even though as Gauntlet pointed out a deluxe size of Reflector and the Insecticons would be awesome for the classics collection(even though I <3 CW bombshell)plus the army building cash grab is always a solid move.

Maketoys will probably get my money...they always do >.>

Vangelus review.

I have to say, unless Takara pulls their finger out and releases an absolutely top notch MP Reflector, these will be mine (when I have the space/money for an MP display anyway). They look spot-on G1, the QC seems to be up to sniff (as expected of MakeToys) and the fact that they can form the camera with absolutely zero partsforming is just awesome. Also, G1 accurate or not, I love that circuitboard detailing on the chest panels.

I would love a toy inspired redeco though. I have a soft spot for toy accuracy...

They do look awesome and that circuitry on the chest looks awesome. How about those G1 weapons?! Still have the KFC ones pre-ordered, but this may sway me.

Maketoys have the Visualizers box set on sale at almost 50% off:

http://maketoys.jp/shop/products/visualizers/

80$US instead of the original 150$US is pretty amazing. Plus their shipping is pretty cheap and fast.

I bought the set and I've received it.

Image

The bots are FANTASTIC looking. Very cartoon accurate, but not too much that it result in bad toys. The bots come with neat accessories. Some I will never use like the real tripod adaptor. Some will be box warmers like some spare faces and the tiny camera.

I REALLY LOVE the "bonus" G1 toys guns. Yup, those guns were never used in the cartoon. So it's a throwback that I really appreciate. Plus they are held pretty solidly in hands, unlike so many MP and Alternators that use a similar peg system.

Image

Man, those G1 originals were very... unique. Make me wish Maketoys or some other company would make a modern update from the original G1 designs.

Image

The shoulder pads are easily removable to facilitate the aplication of the :CON: label.

Image

Those free extra Repro sheets are pretty useful. And now my bots are "official".

Image

Transformation is a bit of a pain. It's pegs central! Especially the middle bot who was pretty troublesome to align everything properly. Still, thanks to the MOST CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS I'VE EVER SEEN, transformation was still going smoothly and was overall pretty fun.

Image
Those instructions. Please take notes :HASBRO: :TAKARATOMY: .

The overall camera is hefty and SOLID. Also, screw cartoon accuracy, that big white spot above need that :CON: .

Image

The extra cap that have to be removed for the flash to fit in have been boxed with the rest of the spare accessories. Next to the G1 original, Visializers is pretty HUGE.
I also adore that the camera's objective is not partforming. It's clevery designed and well integrated.

Image

From the back, Visualisers look pretty clean. Especially beside the very messy G1. Infortunately, that visor is unusuable because it's not going all the way to the back. Oh well.

Image

From the bottom though, both Visualizers and G1 Reflector look the same.

Image

Overall, I'm very, VERY happy with this set. Especially for that low price of below 100$US shipped from Maketoys. No custom fees to boot! All joints are tight, the plastics feel solid, and despite all the tiny panels and tiny tabs, never once I feared forcing things in place. Maketoys is truly synonym of QUALITY. ;)^

What you guys are waiting for? BUY IT! Especially at that price.

Seriously, you should. Especially at that price. Plus when ordering from Maketoys, you can get some cool things for dirt cheap by "paying more" for shipping. The "bonus items" don't have any boxes, but you pay between 50% to 75% less. That's how I got my YOTS Omega Supreme upgrade kit for 20$ instead of the original 120$.

Why you do Kanrabat?! Here I am, minding my business, checking old threads. Now I'm on the MakeToys website looking at sales.

It's either the DX9 Carry reissue.

Or these.

Or the Legendary Toys Wasp.

Or PotP Rodimus Prime.

I'm so lost!!

Oh, and just to make you go lost further, when you check out, you can pay more $ for "shipping" to add the YOTS Omega Supreme upgrade kit for 20$, the minibots for 30$, or the whole Laser Optimus PLUS trailer for 70-something!

Also from Maketoys, I never got any custom fees. I say go for what your budjet allow and what you love the most. You can't go wrong with Maketoys. Especially on sale! ;)^
