I was expecting to see some big 3rd party reveals from the captured prey/tfsource hotel rooms. Usually they have all kinds of prototypes on display and Azim from Renderform is on deck with new samples as well. Other than a lame Orion/Hegemon repaint set, there hasnt been anything to see on this site or others. Whats up with that ?

I guess they're saving the big stuff for TFCon now?

Either that or none of the people that post 3rd party news made the trip. My friend whos there said theres a bunch of MP stuff out there. (not my cup of tea) But no pics by now is weird.

- Enjoying themselves at BotCon to post
- Don't post here anymore

Give it a few days, the news will start trickling out. But I would also expect that MOST of the major news will be from TFCon. Although we've seen a LOT of surprises in the past few weeks (Generation Toys Devy, various MP figures, to name a few). What more are you waiting on?

Im waiting on some cool classics scale stuff. Would be nice to see prototypes of MMC's next DJD figure. Maybe some test shots of that voyager Astrotrain with the coal car. It would be cool to see some displays of Renderforms upcoming weapoms and Menasor heads. And it would be nice if they finally display UT Ordin next to Feral Rex so we can see if it is Warbotron height or not.

It's pretty unfortunate, but it seems most 3rd Parties have moved away from Classics. They've either scaled up with MPs, or scaled down with Legends-class figures. Outside of Impactor and DJD from MMC, there aren't all that many Classics figures to be had in the 3rd Party world (well, that I care about, anyway )

I gotta admit, with all the new Combiner Wars annuncements I'm kinda okay with 3rd parties taking a break from Classics.

MakeToys Defensor, FansProjects Headmasters and Dinobots, Planet X to name a few others.

In all honesty, I'm ok with the slowing down of Classics-scaled stuff. To a well-funded collector (i.e. one with enough funds to get everything), there's not much left to do from the first 3 seasons of G1 (combining HasTak and 3rd Parties), where many fans focus their efforts. Moving into season 4 with the -masters there's more spaces to fill, and then it's onward to the Japanese stuff which has barely been touched. Honestly, I'm not sure if there's enough demand to support 3rd party Japanese characters at the same levels that we've seen the last couple years.

I guess we'll see what happens.

There's a couple gaps a 3rd party could fill on a classics scale ... but not many. You have to get kinda niche now. Or remake stuff in a different scale or look.

STILL want Alpha Trion's team. Sure we have Elita-One from MMC and Chromia from Hasbro, but we don't have Firestar or Moonracer. I may have to settle for tracking down the Club figures and those are pricey for Legends size figures (and, really, the old Energon Arcee mould doesn't cut it for me, but beggers can't be choosers and all that).

Still, yeah, there's still a lot to grab. Dinobots being pretty high on my list and there's still the Scorpinoks to look forward to.
