Shadow Fisher comes at us again with a new upgrade kit, this time for the set of Combaticon figures initially released in the Energon line-up. Included in the set are:

-some extra artillery
-much needed replacement feet and hands for Brawl
-a new head, chest shield, knee connector ports, and waist flaps for Bruticus

While this is an older figure, he's still prominent in many a Classics collector's display. Pricing and release date are still pending.

With Generation Bruticus less that a year away, I don't think this is relevant anymore. Energon/Fansproject and served its time well, but it will soon be replaced whole-sale.

Its a shame because just the arms and feet alone for brawl would have been worthwhile. But it is abit late unless you are still going to keep the FP/Energon.

I would be pretty interested for the Brawl parts but not the rest.

So basically this set gives Bruticus an armoured puffer jacket and gives the already partsformoriffic Crossfire set even more assorted junk to keep track of.

No thanks Jeff.

Keep track of ? Its called a box dude. Not sure what u mean by a "puffer jacket" but FP Bruticus does lack a chest plate. This fills that void. I had that cow catcher chest plate preordered before it got cancelled. Plus the brawl upgrade is an awesome bonus. Finally he will be a real tank with a turret and barrel. I would think you would be be interested in enhancing the only 3rd party product you own ? (As you have noted on previous threads)

And who is Jeff ?

Nah man. FP Bruticus looks fine as he is (emphasis on "looks"- his shoulders are so floppy I literally had to pour dissolved putty into them to get them to hold a pose). This set just makes him look fat in combined mode and gives the team even more miscellaneous crap to lug around, or alternatively chuck in a box with nothing better to do (which is a shıtty way of dealing with kibble). As for Brawl, he doesn't really look that much better with the added junk, and considering it likely won't colourmatch with the Superlink version (which is what I have)...I'm sticking with the Flakpanzer.

To be honest I think I'm just gonna get CW Bruticus and relegate my FP team to "new character" status (and also give their weapons to the CW guys).

I reckon Brawl looks way better with the add-ons even the turret looks a lot better integrated.

Looking at it again I do like the ankle parts now.

Pretty much the only way to solve the arm ratchet issue is to catch it early and not move the ratchets around. That's the only way i did it with out doing any mods.

More junk for a junky combiner, also why am I the only one who sees no need for the extra chest plate nonsense when the design of the base chest is meant to evoke that in the first place? Horsesh*t central. >:oP

NEXT!

I like it well enough. Although I don't need it. It's coming in way late in the game. Still I'm fond of add ons for my add ons.

I like the overall look and the added height and bulk. But I'm already very much down for Takara's CW Bruticus, so I dunno.

Wow, this is a joke, right? So this is an uber niche product catered to only those that bought the original upgrade (which is probably not even available), and figures so many years ago?

#-o

Between the sheer idiocy of that tagline, and the fact that CW/UW Bruticus is on the horizon, I doubt these sell at all. Add to it the fact that it just doesn't look that good; that head definitely does not even remotely look like Bruticus

I can only approximate in words how f&%king stupid this entire set is (along with most other 3p combiners currently getting outclassed by has/tak)

To be fair, the only combiner definitively outclassed is Uranos. FP Menasor has a vastly superior combined mode, HasTak Defensor suffers a bit from stability issues (or so I hear), FP Bruticus actually uses his parts well and would be perfect were it not for the qc issues and Onslaught kinda sucking, and CW Devastator is a joke.

But yeah, this set sucks.

Yeah, cw menasor sucks, but most people are quite satisfied with (I admit) some exceptional fan modes. My defensor has some give in the thigh ratchets, but, point the thumbs inwards and bend the knees, and that goes away. Mine has never fallen.

And to be fair uw devastator looks to be exceptionally G1 accurate (if that's what you're looking for); more so than all those (idiotic, and not in any way G1 or real-life accurate) 3p sets

But yeah, this set is garbage.

GEEWUN does not excuse atrocious hollowness and piss poor articulation. The sad part is that Hercules could easily have been made by the Hasbro of yesteryear. He wasn't all that complex and was solid as hell.

I agree on the G1 thing, but that is what most people think 3p combiners are so great for, when they really aren't G1 accruate.

And while I agree a little on the hollowness, that is what makes him so ridiculously poseable. And as for articulation, I think TT covered that in their release for the individuals, and devs is super articulated already >:oP

And, really, what's the point of being poseable, if the combined form is a dense lump of $hit (case in point, Hercules, just stands there waving his arms around >:oP )

Hahaha Some strong hate for this

Now i'm gonna disagree while i don't think this kit will be blowing the t*ts off fans world wide with everything that is going on official and 3rdp

However i do think if i had just bought the reissue of FP and Takaras energon dwarfs with no intentions on selling , i would be all over this

The added height and bulk brings collossus back into todays standard and fits in nicely

The added chest plate is an excellent add-on giving the shoulders/traps more shape to the upper body , something that was needed with FP kit , the fold out flaps might have been a good idea with the basic energon figure but even with the FP kit it still looks like sh*t

I might have agreed on the head sculpt looking strange , but after zooming in on my phone the sculpt looks decent it just needs some colour to show off the details and lets face it the FP head is not impressive or even a good head sculpt and to top it off it's tiny .

Plus Brawl finally gets a F**king turret :michaelbay:

The only thing i would have added to the kit is some ankle pivot and if it's not already some better shoulder connectors , when i had the figure he had weak joints .

For those of us who have FP Collosus and have no intention of getting any other Brutici replacements, I think this set does a great job to help him size up to the newer scale that Maketoys Giant and FP Menasor is using. I always though Collosus look a tad bit tiny when compared to the rest, and Warbo1 is way too large.

Honestly, when it comes out I'm getting UW Bruticus and giving the Colossus weapons to him. Hopefully someone will release an upgrade kit or replacement figure that makes Vortex less obviously an Alpha Bravo redeco.

At this point, I'm waiting for Takara's Bruticus to finally replace this set once and for all.
