Interesting to see another take on a MP Starscream, I'm really happy with the MP-11 mold. Let's wait and see what is so different about this product. I'll likely still pick it up being a big Starscream fan.
*remembers that he is so happy that iGear never released the other possible 9 versions of their Air Raptor mold*

Uh, isn't MP-11 good enough for people?

Unless it turns into a tetra jet, I see no purpose in this project.

Do you hear that? That's the sound of a million MP Seekers crying out in anguish.

Seriously though, that's gorgeous.

Yes, Maketoys is one of what I consider the top 3 3rd party companies.

I'll add my thumb's up here as well. I have their Battle Tanker, Quantron, and the version of Utopia that looks like Metrotitan. I absolutely love all of them and consider them high quality pieces. Quantron is one of my favorite pieces in my entire collection!
And this looks absolutely beautiful. If they do a Skywarp repaint...

Judging from the images, there seem to be a lot of things that MakeToys did better than Takara with this one. But I'm not big on the face...
I wish Takara weren't so quick to release MP Starscream v2. Between ladder-magic and swappable facial-expressions, there's so much they could have done better today.

thats a 3d printed prototype it'll have multiple faces and look a lot better. look at downbeat. his normal face is spot on.
thats probably why his face is pointed down like that. the person that took the really close up pic of the face said the mt rep was looking really scared when he took that.

Maketoys are pretty good on faces and I'm sure they'll improve it over the prototype.
Honestly, not intending to sound like a fanboy here but I see no reason to buy the official version over this. The official version's one definitive advantage is the jet mode. It's very wobbly from mold overuse, it's far too expensive for what it is, the articulation is subpar for the price, it isn't very accurate and there's a tonne of knockoffs out there. The MT version is more accurate, more articulated, will likely be better quality and will probably be cheaper. It's not like Inferno where the official wins out unless MT's style really appeals to you, or Megatron where both versions have their own merits. Unless we get a new official MP Seeker (which given the Coneheads seems unlikely) this will be the definitive MP scale Seeker on the market. At any rate, assuming I can, I'll buy it. Well, some version anyway, that Cybertron Starscream they're making looks amazing...

Not big on Downbeat's face either.

MT's Starscream looks cleaner overall and has waist articulation. But I doubt cheaper. MP-11 was 10,400 yens ($93.)
The jet-mode looks pretty much the same to me for both toys. Maybe MakeToys has some edge over the official one because they actually have the robot-guns replaced by small missiles, like in the cartoon.

Yeah I'd forgotten about this. But being one Conehead away from completing my official MP Seekers, seeing this thing kinda makes me sick to my stomach

It's been two years. Do other 3P figures usually take this long?
I've never really noticed before.

This basically. Took a backseat to their other releases. Downbeat took his number already.

I gave up on Howling Meteor a couple months ago and got MP-11 from HLJ for a good price.
