BUT, I think this has potential to be REALLY cool...

the only two things cw um needed fixed, in my opinion, were the hands because they cant hold anything well, and the cab because it also cannot hold anything well! the hands are fixed here but i would still love to see a cab replacement that is designed to allow minimus to stay in the cab in alt mode.

Yeah, I'm not sure what the point of this is. Is it supposed to make him look more G1-ish?
I don't know; I've been toying with the idea of buying a second UM sometime and repainting it in Diaclone colors to make it Delta Magnus; this might be a neat way to differentiate the two.

I usually refer to the Diaclone Powered Convoy toy as "Delta Magnus" rather than saying "Diaclone Powered Convoy" of "Pre-Transformers Ultra Magnus" or "Diaclone Colors Ultra Magnus" or "Movie Preview Ultra Magnus" or "Yokokuhen Ultra Magnus" or any of the other more-than-four-syllable ways to describe the figure.

oooh, now i want a delta magnus repaint

Meh, I just want hands that have a peg slot that fits the little nub that is on the weapon handles he already has. Perhaps a little piece that can actually slot into the vehicle mode that will hold Minimus in place. Most of what is in this set is superfluous.

I think, ultimately, the price will be the deciding factor for me. There's a lot of plastic going into that huge gun, and I'm usually not swayed by impressive artillery. If it's not too expensive I'll probably consider it, but then, as I said, only to make a custom Delta Magnus figure. I like the way the original CW UM looks.
