I did. I love it even though the plastic is too brittle. Not-Razorclaw's fingers broke off after I tried getting him to hold his gigantic blades but it's alright, glued them back together and just attached all their weapons either onto the individual robots' shoulders or the holes at their forearms to avoid this happening again.

It looks better this way since their wrists don't rotate anyway, unlike in the original MMC version. Also note that Not-Razorclaw's outer mane does not fold inwards like the original.

I expect that in Not-Predaking mode he'll scale nicely with the upcoming Titans Return Galvatron

Also did some minor and easy modifications:

I gotta admit, I want it too, even though I already have the original.

Isn't there another version of it now - not sure if it's another size or not though.
It's hard to track things like this when you don't speak the language.

Yeah I knew about the over size Purple and black.
I was referring to the KO's Feral Rex parts that are more or less normal size - and could be described as designed to deceive.
Who knows perhaps there will be a stupidly cheap Machine Boy version than is a slightly bonkers colour but more or less the same as the original - that would be a laugh - I did like the G1 KO that was partly white for example - I wish they'd made the whole thing more white that would have looked pretty darn nice.

Add on kit available for the Black version of Feral Rex OS KO on Sirtoys, people who already bought one get it free, but don't muck about, I doubt they will last long.
http://sirtoys.com/toys.php?c=16&p=2560 ... n_Kit.htmlFYI - I have nothing to do with the site, I just buy lots of good **** here, and I was reading this thread last night and then saw the updated page just now on sirtoys.

Man, I wish they made a kit like this for the regular coloured version

There is a kit for the regular colour oversized - they are pretty common on ebay $15-$20 or less shipped.
The knives and forearm covers that exist for the standard size would be nice to have for the bigger size I guess.
---
Oh and as a P.S. to my earlier posts the other - other version I was talking about is standard size - slightly lower quality and comes with yellow sword parts. there is also the straight KO - that one at least is a cheaper way to get a standard size Nero Rex & is the only way to get a 6th Team member in black.
----
The thing to recommend the OS-KO one is that it does complement the size of some of the larger items - I think some people like to buy him to keep combined so they can use the standard size as MP like individual robots.
Although the price has not dropped a lot he's not hugely expensive and is a bit cheaper than the Overscale Warbotron is if you hunt around - though sometimes that is reversed. I did see someone selling the limbs one at a time once for silly cheap prices - but I was concerned about missing accessories if buying that way.

Anyone know if there's a non-OS KO of this guy, and what sort of price range that'd be?

There is only the OS KO, no regular KO.

I wonder how the supposedly soon-to-be released Titan class Predaking will stack up against this guy. He looks like the perfect complement to big Devy.

So Catilla had to be made the 6th Predacon to accommodate for the size? I thought it would be a straight KO of the original G1 figure.

That Catilla was also released for the original 3p feral Rex. This KO just oversized him like all the others. He works really well If you want semetrical arm and you can still have divebomb fully connected in the back to haven all six predacon connected at once.

Darn wouldn't it be fun if Catilla came as a bonus figure for the "real" Predaking next year.
Anyway, as per my question that was in the wrong thread. How does this piece compare to a CHUG figure in terms of general playability? I am always wary of them because of some bad experiences with KOs in the past.
Basically, do you think it is as durable as a CHUG toy? My daughter tends to play with the figures with me as well, and the CHUG figures have held up quite well to her play style.
How complex are the individual bot transformations? I enjoy complex transformations that make sense, but if it's lots of tiny panels flipping about and there is a chance of breakage I would want to steer clear of it.
I am asking for 2 reasons.
1. I am considering the Nero Rex variant that is 125-150 online (since I am getting TR Predaking anyway, this way I can Head-Canon Nero into a different/new character). Heck I might even set him up as a villain for my kiddos Legendary Defender Voltron combiner.
2. I am also considering the viability of these oversized KOs in general. With the PotP leaks we all saw, we know the Dinobots (sans Grimlock) will be Deluxe sized. If an OS variant of those becomes available, I would love to get one if they still feel like good toys (so I can display the OS is dinobots, and the official ones in combined mode).

It feels sturdier than most Chug toys, the plastic used here is thicker. Its as if they upscaled the figure in every way including the plastic's thickness. The one part that is worrysome is the rhino horn which can be broken off. This happens with CHUG toys too hence why many are soft plastic now (along with the fact that it is safer that way)

They are as complex as CHUG though not as swift as the CW ones due to all the ratcheting. A good example would be CW Longhaul but with thicker plastic. There really isnt a ton of panel flipping here. the only random ass design thing are those odd waist circles which have these small pocket like pieces at each extremity. I dont know what they are for and they add nothing to the overall design. Its like a double jointed waist, but on the horizontal side, which is pointless.
In any case, the main flaws with this toy is not the quality, nor the transformation, nor the look (aside from tantrum and headstrong having larger heads than they should)or anything of the sort. It is simply that the arms are so heavy he becomes hard to pose in combined mode. Thats pretty much it. I personally feel it is quite the flaw though. You give him this epic sword and he cant really do any cool poses with it aside from a rested pose.

That sounds fine by me, would it help if the sword wasn't ridiculously massive? Or is any weight pretty much a no go?
Are there other companies that make just the KO weapons?

It would be a no go either way but the sowrd is ridiculously huge.
Ad I dont know about other weapons. BUT, the sword is made up of smaller weapons and the weapons conenct together so you could fashion a smaller sword I think (never tried in fear that I lose some of the bajilion weapons he comes with).

I just got my OS KO Nero Rex, and I have a few notes which might interest you:
1. Joints are super tight, impossible to move the legs without slightly popping the part out of the chest/back cavity of the toy. Not a huge deal, but you cannot even force it. May have to consider grinding the holder down.
2. The Sword is massive. But, unlike yours william-james88, mine can be held upright.
3. I didn't realize the individual figures were leader sized. I was expecting Voyager.
4. He scales and fits pretty well with CW Devastators aesthetic. Slightly smaller but much stockier.
Overall I am quite happy with this guy.

I definitely will. 125 for 6 leader size figures... whats not to love. Humorously my whole reason for buying this was to have a villain for my daughters legendary voltron. She has yet to see it.
