Third Party Stuff on Ebay?

(Apologies if this has been discussed before, but I didn't find anything in a search.)
Has anybody ever bought a third party TF figure from one of those China-based Ebay stores that also sell KO MPs? I've seen a few of these (particularly the TFC Hades figures, which is what really caught my attention) on sale for a decent amount less than other online outlets, and was wondering what the catch is. Are they KOs or actual figures from the actual companies that designed them (e.g. TFC)? Since they use the official "stock" photographs for the auctions, it's not the same as buying from someone who took pictures of the toy on their kitchen table. Do you just end up buying a broken figure? The auctions go into way more detail about shipping policies than they do about the condition of the actual item on sale.
With the stuff I was looking at, I could either save twenty bucks or waste eighty, so naturally I'm hoping to get some additional info before jumping in.
Thanks,
Glarryg
